Kleinbasel im Fokus: Der Ausstellungsraum von BelleVue befindet sich mitten im Kleinbasel. Was liegt also näher, als das eigene Umfeld fotografisch zu erkunden? BelleVue hat für die zweite Ausstellung der Reihe «Im Bild – Archivierte und zeitgenössische Fotografie im Dialog» vier FotografInnen beauftragt, eine aktuelle Arbeit mit jeweils eigenem Fokus auf das Kleinbasel zu realisieren. Auch Schülerinnen und Schüler des Bläsi- und des Sandgrubenschulhauses haben Fotoarbeiten zum Thema entwickelt. Die zeitgenössischen Bilder treten in der Ausstellung in einen Austausch mit historischen Fotografien von 1880 bis 1920 aus dem Staatsarchiv Basel-Stadt und mit Postkarten, die in der damaligen Zeit ein neues Bildmedium darstellten.
Fotografie vor Ort: Die FotografInnen haben ihre Projekte ab Herbst 2020 umgesetzt: Maria Patzschke hielt in einer Art fotografischem Tagebuch diverse, zufällig angetroffene Situationen fest. Ursula Sprecher besuchte mit Viviane Herzog (Interviews) Menschen ganz unterschiedlicher Herkunft in ihrem Kleinbasler Zuhause, um sie in Bild und Text zu porträtieren. Roland Schmid spürte in seinen Fotoreportagen der Arbeitswelt im Kleinbasel nach und Christian Jaeggi setzte sich fotografisch mit den Grün- und Erholungsräumen der acht Quartiere auseinander.
Neue Fragen an alte Bilder: Das Staatsarchiv Basel-Stadt macht in der Ausstellung an einzelnen Strassenansichten, Porträts und Baustellenbildern aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert erlebbar, was die historischen Fotografien über das Leben und Arbeiten im Kleinbasel erzählen können. Eine filmische Visualisierung, Fotoalben und Bildauszüge laden ein, sich auch in die Details zu vertiefen. Zudem ermöglicht eine von Richard Spillmann zusammengestellte Auswahl alter Ansichtskarten einen speziellen Einblick in das damalige Kleinbasel.
Einladung zum Hinsehen: Im Zentrum der Ausstellung steht der fotografische Blick auf einzelne Quartiere, Strassen und Plätze, auf Menschen, die hier wohnen, arbeiten oder ihre Freizeit verbringen. Die FotografInnen machen ein Stück Kleinbasler Alltag sichtbar und öffnen neue Blickwinkel auf das Altbekannte. Für Überraschungen sorgt die Ausstellung auch durch das genaue Befragen der historischen Fotografien und durch die Bezüge, die sich zwischen den alten und neuen Bildern herstellen lassen. – Eine Einladung zum Hinsehen, Entdecken und Nachdenken, aber auch zu eigenen Streifzügen durch die Stadt.

Le Petit-Bâle en point de mire : la salle d'exposition de BelleVue se trouve au cœur du Petit-Bâle. Quoi de plus naturel donc que d'explorer son propre environnement par la photographie ? Pour la deuxième exposition de la série "Im Bild - Archivierte und zeitgenössische Fotografie im Dialog", BelleVue a demandé à quatre photographes de réaliser un travail actuel en se concentrant chacun sur le Kleinbasel. Des élèves de l'école Bläsi et de l'école Sandgruben ont également développé des travaux photographiques sur ce thème. Dans l'exposition, les images contemporaines entrent en interaction avec des photographies historiques de 1880 à 1920 provenant des archives d'État de Bâle-Ville et avec des cartes postales, qui représentaient à l'époque un nouveau support d'images.
Photographie sur place : les photographes ont mis en œuvre leurs projets à partir de l'automne 2020 : Maria Patzschke a consigné dans une sorte de journal photographique diverses situations rencontrées par hasard. Ursula Sprecher, accompagnée de Viviane Herzog (interviews), a rendu visite à des personnes d'origines très diverses dans leur foyer du Petit-Bâle pour en faire le portrait par l'image et le texte. Dans ses reportages photographiques, Roland Schmid s'est intéressé au monde du travail dans le Petit-Bâle et Christian Jaeggi a photographié les espaces verts et de détente des huit quartiers.
De nouvelles questions sur de vieilles images : Les Archives d'État de Bâle-Ville font découvrir dans l'exposition, à travers quelques vues de rues, portraits et images de chantiers du début du 20e siècle, ce que les photographies historiques peuvent raconter sur la vie et le travail dans le Petit-Bâle. Une visualisation filmée, des albums photos et des extraits d'images invitent également à se plonger dans les détails. De plus, une sélection d'anciennes cartes postales rassemblées par Richard Spillmann permet de se faire une idée particulière du Petit-Bâle de l'époque.
Une invitation à regarder : Le regard photographique sur les différents quartiers, rues et places, sur les personnes qui y vivent, y travaillent ou y passent leur temps libre, est au centre de l'exposition. Les photographes rendent visible une partie du quotidien du Petit-Bâle et ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives sur ce qui est déjà connu. L'exposition réserve également des surprises par l'interrogation précise des photographies historiques et par les liens que l'on peut établir entre les anciennes et les nouvelles images. - Une invitation à regarder, à découvrir et à réfléchir, mais aussi à se promener soi-même dans la ville.

Kleinbasel a fuoco: lo spazio espositivo di BelleVue si trova al centro di Kleinbasel. Cosa c'è quindi di più naturale che esplorare fotograficamente il proprio ambiente? Per la seconda mostra della serie "Im Bild - Archivierte und zeitgenössische Fotografie im Dialog" (Nell'immagine - Fotografia archivistica e contemporanea in dialogo), BelleVue ha incaricato quattro fotografi di produrre un lavoro attuale, ognuno con il proprio focus su Kleinbasel. Gli alunni delle scuole Bläsi e Sandgruben hanno anche sviluppato lavori fotografici sul tema. Nella mostra, le immagini contemporanee entrano in uno scambio con fotografie storiche dal 1880 al 1920 dall'Archivio di Stato di Basel-Stadt e con cartoline, che rappresentavano un nuovo mezzo visivo all'epoca.
Fotografia sul posto: i fotografi hanno realizzato i loro progetti a partire dall'autunno 2020: Maria Patzschke ha registrato varie situazioni incontrate per caso in una sorta di diario fotografico. Ursula Sprecher ha visitato persone di origini molto diverse nelle loro case di Kleinbasel con Viviane Herzog (interviste) per ritrarle in immagini e testi. Roland Schmid ha tracciato il mondo del lavoro di Kleinbasel nei suoi reportage fotografici e Christian Jaeggi si è occupato fotograficamente degli spazi verdi e ricreativi degli otto quartieri.
Nuove domande per vecchie foto: Nella mostra, l'Archivio di Stato di Basilea Città utilizza singole vedute di strade, ritratti e immagini di cantieri dell'inizio del 20° secolo per portare in vita ciò che le fotografie storiche possono dirci sulla vita e il lavoro a Kleinbasel. Una visualizzazione di film, album fotografici ed estratti di immagini invitano i visitatori ad approfondire anche i dettagli. Inoltre, una selezione di vecchie cartoline illustrate compilate da Richard Spillmann fornisce una visione speciale di Kleinbasel a quel tempo.
Invito a dare un'occhiata: Al centro della mostra c'è la visione fotografica di singoli quartieri, strade e piazze, di persone che vivono, lavorano o trascorrono il loro tempo libero qui. I fotografi rendono visibile un pezzo della vita quotidiana di Kleinbasel e aprono nuove prospettive sul familiare. La mostra sorprende anche per l'interrogazione ravvicinata delle fotografie storiche e per le connessioni che si possono fare tra le vecchie e le nuove immagini. - Un invito a guardare, scoprire e riflettere, ma anche a fare le proprie incursioni nella città.

Kleinbasel in focus: BelleVue's exhibition space is located in the middle of Kleinbasel. So what could be more natural than to explore one's own surroundings photographically? For the second exhibition in the series "Im Bild - Archivierte und zeitgenössische Fotografie im Dialog" (In the Picture - Archival and Contemporary Photography in Dialogue), BelleVue commissioned four photographers to produce a current work, each with its own focus on Kleinbasel. Students from the Bläsi and Sandgruben Schoolhouses have also developed photographic works on the theme. In the exhibition, the contemporary images enter into an exchange with historical photographs from 1880 to 1920 from the Basel-Stadt State Archives and with postcards, which represented a new image medium at the time.

New questions to old pictures: In the exhibition, the Basel-Stadt State Archive uses individual street views, portraits and construction site images from the early 20th century to bring to life what the historical photographs can tell us about life and work in Kleinbasel. A cinematic visualization, photo albums and picture excerpts invite visitors to delve into the details as well. In addition, a selection of old picture postcards compiled by Richard Spillmann provides a special insight into Kleinbasel at that time.
Invitation to take a look: The focus of the exhibition is the photographic view of individual quarters, streets and squares, of people who live, work or spend their leisure time here. The photographers make a piece of everyday life in Kleinbasel visible and open up new perspectives on the old familiar. The exhibition also provides surprises by closely questioning the historical photographs and by the references that can be made between the old and new pictures. - An invitation to look, discover and reflect, but also to make your own forays through the city.
