Die Installation "Portal" von Lidia Russkova-Hasaya ist eine drei Meter hohe, leuchtende Glastür, die von Metall umrahmt und in einen massiven Metallsockel eingelassen ist. Die LED-Beleuchtung umreißt die Silhouette der Tür und verleiht ihr den Anschein, als würde sie in der Luft schweben.
Auf der Grundlage jahrelanger Recherchen des Künstlers in den Bereichen Kunstgeschichte, Symbolismus, Urbanismus und Architektur steht "Portal" für Hoffnung und die Möglichkeit eines Neuanfangs - ein Durchgang zu einem besseren und sichereren Ort. Die Tür ist jedoch nicht zugänglich, so dass die Besucher in ihrer gegenwärtigen Realität gefangen sind.
"Der Künstler fordert uns auf, über den Weg zu unseren Zielen nachzudenken und zu erkennen, dass gerade diese Reise Freude und Wert bringen sollte. Die heutigen Realitäten zwingen uns jedoch, an Ersatzwerte zu glauben, die unsere Aufmerksamkeit auf eine vergängliche Zukunft lenken", sagt Alena Stetsiukevich, die Kuratorin des Projekts.
Die Installation von 'Portal' in Venedig ist ein symbolischer Akt. Seit der Renaissance dienen Türen in Italien als wichtige dekorative Elemente und Statusindikatoren. Die Eingangstür verrät, was man im Inneren des Raumes zu erwarten hat. Venezianische Türen sind auch sehr funktionell. Das Design der Türen, die in die Kanäle führen, trägt dazu bei, dem Acqua Alta zu widerstehen, einem Ereignis, bei dem Venedig zu verschiedenen Zeitpunkten im Jahr durch die steigende Flut der Adria vorübergehend überschwemmt wird.
Lidia interagiert auch mit dem Raum des Internationalen Kulturzentrums CREA, das sich an den Docks in der Nähe der Gondel- und Motorbootreparatur befindet. Die Umgebung ist einer der Gründe, warum der Künstler Metall, Glas und Neon für die Installation gewählt hat. Die bei der Herstellung von "Portal" verwendeten Materialien verwandeln einen gewöhnlichen Gegenstand in ein Kunstwerk: Die einfache Tür wird zu einem bedeutungsvollen Symbol mit zahlreichen Interpretationen. Die Installation wurde im Einklang mit den Grundsätzen der nachhaltigen Entwicklung geschaffen.

S'appuyant sur des années de recherche de l'artiste dans les domaines de l'histoire de l'art, du symbolisme, de l'urbanisme et de l'architecture, "Portal" représente l'espoir et la possibilité d'un nouveau départ - un passage vers un espace meilleur et plus sûr. La porte, cependant, n'est pas accessible, laissant les visiteurs confinés dans leur réalité actuelle.
"L'artiste nous invite à contempler le chemin qui mène à nos objectifs et à reconnaître que c'est ce voyage même qui devrait nous apporter joie et valeur. Les réalités contemporaines, cependant, nous obligent à croire en des valeurs de substitution qui concentrent notre attention sur un avenir éphémère", explique Alena Stetsiukevich, commissaire du projet.
L'installation de "Portal" à Venise est un acte symbolique. Depuis la Renaissance, les portes sont des éléments décoratifs importants et des indicateurs de statut en Italie. La porte d'entrée révèle ce que l'on attend à l'intérieur de l'espace. Les portes vénitiennes sont également très fonctionnelles. La conception des portes menant aux canaux permet de résister à l'Acqua Alta, un événement qui voit Venise temporairement inondée à différents moments de l'année par la marée montante de la mer Adriatique.
Lidia interagit également avec l'espace du centre culturel international CREA, situé sur les quais, à proximité de la réparation des gondoles et des bateaux à moteur. C'est l'une des raisons pour lesquelles l'artiste a choisi le métal, le verre et le néon pour construire l'installation. Les matériaux utilisés pour la réalisation de "Portal" transforment un objet ordinaire en œuvre d'art : la simple porte devient un symbole significatif aux multiples interprétations. L'installation a été réalisée dans le respect des principes du développement durable.

Basata su anni di ricerca dell'artista in storia dell'arte, simbolismo, urbanistica e architettura, "Portal" rappresenta la speranza e la possibilità di un nuovo inizio, un passaggio verso uno spazio migliore e più sicuro. La porta, tuttavia, non è accessibile, lasciando i visitatori confinati nella loro realtà attuale.
"L'artista ci invita a contemplare il percorso che ci porta alla meta e a riconoscere che è proprio questo viaggio che dovrebbe portare gioia e valore. La realtà contemporanea, tuttavia, ci costringe a credere in valori sostitutivi che focalizzano la nostra attenzione su un futuro effimero", afferma Alena Stetsiukevich, curatrice del progetto.
L'installazione di "Portal" a Venezia è un atto simbolico. Fin dal Rinascimento, le porte sono state un importante elemento decorativo e un indicatore di status in Italia. La porta d'ingresso rivela cosa ci si aspetta all'interno dello spazio. Le porte veneziane sono anche altamente funzionali. Il design delle porte che conducono ai canali aiuta a resistere all'Acqua Alta, un evento che vede Venezia temporaneamente allagata in vari momenti dell'anno dall'innalzamento della marea dell'Adriatico.
Lidia interagisce anche con lo spazio del Centro Culturale Internazionale CREA, situato sulle banchine vicino alla riparazione di gondole e motoscafi. L'area è uno dei motivi per cui l'artista ha scelto metallo, vetro e neon per costruire l'installazione. I materiali utilizzati per la realizzazione di "Portal" trasformano un oggetto ordinario in un'opera d'arte: la semplice porta diventa un simbolo significativo dalle molteplici interpretazioni. L'installazione è stata realizzata secondo i principi dello sviluppo sostenibile.

Based on years of research by the artist in art history, symbolism, urbanism, and architecture, 'Portal' represents hope and the possibility of a new beginning — a passage to a better and safer space. The door, however, is not accessible, leaving visitors confined to their present reality.
“The artist beckons us to contemplate the path leading to our goals and to recognise that it is this very journey which should bring joy and value. Contemporary realities, however, compel us to believe in substitute values that focus our attention on an ephemeral future,” says Alena Stetsiukevich, the curator of the project.
Installing ‘Portal’ in Venice is a symbolic act. Since the Renaissance, doors have served as significant decorative elements and indicators of status in Italy. The front door reveals what to expect inside the space. Venetian doors are also highly functional. The design of doors leading into the canals helps to withstand Acqua Alta, an event that sees Venice temporarily flooded at various points during the year by the rising Adriatic Sea tide.
Lidia also interacts with the space of the CREA International Cultural Centre, located on the docks near the gondolas and motorboats repair. The area is one of the reasons the artist chose metal, glass, and neon to construct the installation. The materials used in the making of ‘Portal’ transform an ordinary object into a work of art: the simple door becomes a meaningful symbol with numerous interpretations. The installation is created in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
