Erich Dal Canton
Erich Dal Canton untersucht mit seinen Bildern Zeit und Zeitlichkeit. Das richtige Licht zu finden ist für ihn eine Obsession. Das Herzstück seiner künstlerischen Arbeit sind zweifelsohne die sogenannten „Waterscapes”.
Seine in der Galerie Vazerol 14 präsentierten Silbergelatine-Abzüge auf Barytpapier zeigen stille Momente aus der Schweiz, Frankreich und Deutschland. Seine aufwändig eingesetzte fotografische Technik ist reines analoges Handwerk. Es kamen konventionelle Printverfahren, wie auch die von ihm bevorzugte Lithprint-Technik zur Anwendung.
Dal Canton arbeitet seit über 35 Jahren ausschliesslich auf Schwarzweissfilm und setzt verschiedene Kameras und Negativformate ein, um seine Bildideen zu realisieren. Er verwendet aber bevorzugt die Grossformate 4x5in., 8x10in. und 6x17cm.
Bei der Betrachtung der Bilder von Erich Dal Canton werden wir in eine andere Welt entführt, in eine Welt der Ruhe und Stille.

Dal Canton travaille depuis plus de 35 ans exclusivement sur des films noir et blanc et utilise différents appareils et formats de négatifs pour réaliser ses idées d'images. Il utilise cependant de préférence les grands formats 4x5in, 8x10in et 6x17cm.En regardant les images d'Erich Dal Canton, nous sommes transportés dans un autre monde, un monde de calme et de tranquillité.

Erich Dal Canton explores time and temporality with his images. Finding the right light is an obsession for him. The heart of his artistic work are undoubtedly the so-called "Waterscapes".
His silver gelatin prints on baryta paper presented in the gallery Vazerol 14 show still moments from Switzerland, France and Germany. His elaborately employed photographic technique is pure analog craft. Conventional printing processes were used, as well as the lithprint technique he prefers.
Dal Canton has been working exclusively on black-and-white film for over 35 years and uses various cameras and negative formats to realize his image ideas.
