Concurrent ist eine Versöhnung von Entwurzelung und Weitblick, die Nahrs Arbeit definieren. Hier treffen Eindrücke aus der Schweiz auf das Weltgeschehen. Es sind details und Panoramen von der internationalen Bühne und aus dem persönlichen Leben.
Die abgebildeten Menschen, Orte und Momente verbindet eine emotionale Resonanz, die aus Gegenwart und Erinnerungen entsteht.
Dominic Nahr, geboren 1983 in Appenzell, wuchs in Hongkong auf, studierte in Kanada, und arbeitete ab 2009 von Kenia aus. Für internationale Medien dokumentierte er politische Konflikte und humanitäre Katastrophen.
Nahr fand seine Konstante in einer stetigen Vorwärtsbewegung. Seine dokumentarischen Essays fotografierte er unter anderem im Kongo, in Äthiopien, Kenia, Mali, Somalia, Südsudan, Sudan, Südafrika, Haiti, Ägypten, Afghanistan, Gaza, Irak und Japan.
Nach einem Jahrzehnt auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent zog Nahr in die Schweiz und bietet auch hier neue Perspektiven: Teils abstrakt, teils poetisch und wie immer sehr persönlich.
Gleichzeitig reflektiert über die parallele Existenz verschiedenster Lebensrealitäten und die Paradoxe und Überschneidungen, die der Fotograf in diesen erkennt.
Dominic Nahr ist langjähriger Leica Fotograf und Leica Ambassador in der Schweiz.

Concurrent il y a une réconciliation entre le déracinement et la clairvoyance qui définit le travail de Nahr. Ici, les impressions de la Suisse rencontrent les événements mondiaux. Les personnes, les lieux et les moments dépeints sont unis par une résonance émotionnelle qui naît du présent et des souvenirs.
Dominic Nahr, né à Appenzell en 1983, a grandi à Hong Kong, a étudié au Canada et travaille depuis le Kenya depuis 2009. Il a documenté des conflits politiques et des catastrophes humanitaires pour les médias internationaux.
Nahr a trouvé sa constante dans un mouvement d'avance régulier. Il a photographié ses essais documentaires au Congo, en Éthiopie, au Kenya, au Mali, en Somalie, au Sud-Soudan, en Afrique du Sud, en Haïti, en Égypte, en Afghanistan, à Gaza, en Irak et au Japon, entre autres.
Après une décennie sur le continent africain, Nahr s'est installé en Suisse et offre ici aussi de nouvelles perspectives : en partie abstraites, en partie poétiques et, comme toujours, très personnelles.
Dominic Nahr est un photographe Leica de longue date et l'ambassadeur Leica en Suisse.

Dopo un decennio nel continente africano, Nahr si è trasferito in Svizzera e offre anche qui nuove prospettive: in parte astratte, in parte poetiche e, come sempre, molto personali.
Allo stesso tempo riflette sull'esistenza parallela delle più diverse realtà della vita e sui paradossi e le sovrapposizioni che il fotografo riconosce in esse.

Nahr found his constant in a steady forward movement. He photographed his documentary essays in Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, South Africa, Haiti, Egypt, Afghanistan, Gaza, Iraq and Japan, among other places.
After a decade on the African continent, Nahr moved to Switzerland and offers new perspectives here as well: part abstract, part poetic and, as always, very personal.
At the same time reflecting on the parallel existence of the most diverse realities of life and the paradoxes and overlaps that the photographer recognizes in them.
