Die Ausstellung "Armenien, Jahr Null" zeigt eine Auswahl der Fotografien, die Patrick Rollier während acht Reisen nach Armenien zwischen 2015 und 2018 gemacht hat.
Die Worte von Armeniern, die er dort ebenfalls mit der Komplizenschaft und dem Engagement seiner Übersetzerin Hermineh gesammelt hat, unterbrechen die Hängung.
Die menschlichen und respektvollen Bilder von Patrick Rollier öffnen unseren Blick auf die letzten dreißig Jahre der armenischen Geschichte.
1988-2018, dreißig Jahre, die Zeit einer Generation. Drei Jahrzehnte, die durch ein katastrophales Erdbeben, die Unabhängigkeit des Landes und den Krieg um Berg-Karabach unterbrochen wurden.
Heute geht das Leben weiter, aber "es ist heute schwieriger als gestern". Daher das nostalgische Gefühl, das diejenigen empfinden, die die Zeit davor erlebt haben.
Patrick Rolliers ethnografischer Ansatz lädt uns dazu ein, Teile der Geschichte der Armenierinnen und Armenier zu teilen, die ihm ihre Türen und Herzen geöffnet haben.
Ihre Erzählungen und Fotografien sind von den Spuren dieser Umwälzungen erfüllt.
Patrick Rollier hat schon immer fotografiert.
Als Reisender und Wanderer ist seine Praxis in die lange Zeit der Begegnungen eingebettet.
Der Austausch mit Claudine Doury war ein Schlüsselmoment für seine Entscheidung, seine Arbeit über Armenien zu teilen.
Diese Arbeit hat es ihm ermöglicht, seine fotografische Handschrift zu festigen und sein Vorgehen in eine lange, menschliche und respektvolle Zeitschiene einzuordnen.
L’exposition «Arménie, année zéro» présente une sélection des photographies que Patrick Rollier a réalisées lors de huit voyages en Arménie entre 2015 et 2018.
Les paroles d’Arméniens qu’il y a également recueillies, avec la complicité et l’engagement d’Hermineh, sa traductrice, ponctuent l’accrochage.
Les images humaines et respectueuses de Patrick Rollier ouvrent notre regard sur les trente dernières années de l’histoire de l’Arménie.
1988–2018, trente ans, le temps d’une génération. Trois décennies ponctuées par un catastrophique tremblement de terre, l’Indépendance du pays et la guerre du Haut Karabakh.
Aujourd’hui, la vie se poursuit, mais «elle est plus difficile aujourd’hui qu’hier». D’où ce sentiment de nostalgie éprouvé par ceux et celles qui ont connu le temps d’avant.
La démarche de Patrick Rollier, proche de l’ethnographie, nous invite à partager des bribes de l’histoire des Arméniennes et des Arméniens qui lui ont ouvert leur porte, leur coeur.
Leurs récits et ses photographies sont emplis des traces de ces bouleversements.
