Nadja Bournonville beschäftigt sich in ihrem neuen künstlerischen Projekt auf vielseitige Weise mit dem Leben, der Artenvielfalt, dem Vermächtnis, der Darstellung und dem Aussterben von Tieren. Die Künstlerin hat im Naturhistorischen Museum Wien Objekte und Präparate fotografiert. Entstanden ist ein visueller ästhetischer Kosmos, tief verwurzelt im Sein zwischen Schönheit und Deformation. Die den Exponaten eingeschriebenen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse verschwinden hinter einem abstrakten Moment. Die Fotografien verweisen zugleich auf die dem Museum innewohnende Heterotopien. Bournonville zeigt diese Fotografien in einer Ausstellungsinstallation neben Videos und realen wie virtuellen Objekten. 2020 erschien das gleichnamige Buch, das mit dem Swedish Photobook Award ausgezeichnet wurde.
Dans son nouveau projet artistique, Nadja Bournonville s'intéresse de manière variée à la vie, à la biodiversité, à l'héritage, à la représentation et à l'extinction des animaux. L'artiste a photographié des objets et des spécimens au Musée d'histoire naturelle de Vienne. Il en résulte un cosmos esthétique visuel, profondément enraciné dans l'être entre beauté et déformation. Les connaissances scientifiques inscrites dans les objets exposés disparaissent derrière un moment abstrait. Les photographies renvoient en même temps aux hétérotopies inhérentes au musée. Bournonville présente ces photographies dans une installation d'exposition à côté de vidéos et d'objets réels et virtuels. En 2020, le livre du même nom a été publié et a reçu le Swedish Photobook Award.
Nel suo nuovo progetto artistico, Nadja Bournonville affronta la vita, la biodiversità, l'eredità, la rappresentazione e l'estinzione degli animali in modo multiforme. L'artista ha fotografato oggetti ed esemplari nel Museo di Storia Naturale di Vienna. Il risultato è un cosmo estetico visivo, profondamente radicato nell'essere tra bellezza e deformazione. La conoscenza scientifica inscritta nei reperti scompare dietro un momento astratto. Allo stesso tempo, le fotografie fanno riferimento alle eterotopie inerenti al museo. Bournonville mostra queste fotografie in un'installazione espositiva insieme a video e oggetti reali e virtuali. Nel 2020 è stato pubblicato il libro con lo stesso nome, che ha vinto lo Swedish Photobook Award.
Nadja Bournonville's new artistic project deals in a multifaceted way with the life, biodiversity, legacy, representation and extinction of animals. The artist photographed objects and specimens at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. The result is a visual aesthetic cosmos, deeply rooted in being between beauty and deformation. The scientific knowledge inscribed in the exhibits disappears behind an abstract moment. At the same time, the photographs refer to the inherent heterotopia of the museum. Bournonville shows these photographs in an exhibition installation alongside videos and both real and virtual objects. In 2020, the book of the same name was published, which won the Swedish Photobook Award.
