Seit den 1960er-Jahren schafft Ruedi Bechtler (*1942) ein auf seine Art kompromissloses Werk, das u.a. Tuschzeichnungen, Fotografien, Holzobjekte, partizipative Installationen, Brunnenobjekte, Lichtobjekte und Fundgegenstands-Assemblagen umfasst. Mit höchst ungewöhnlichen Ansätzen holt er die Kunst vom hohen Ross zu den Menschen, lässt sie teilhaben am Prozess des Entstehens.
Ruedi Bechtler zeigt sich als Künstler, der mit experimentellen Ansätzen in der Kunst vertraut ist und der sich mit aktuellen Themen wie der Krise der Ökologie auseinandersetzt, aber auch mit der Rolle der Kunst als soziale Komponente. Als Künstler und Förderer hat er sich in Institutionen wie dem Kunsthaus Zürich oder der F+F Schule für Kunst und Design engagiert.
In den letzten Jahren wurde sein Archiv aufgearbeitet, was nun diesen ersten umfassenden Überblick in der Ausstellung und einer Publikation ermöglicht.

Franziska Baumgartners (*1987) künstlerische Praxis entspringt dem experimentellen Umgang mit flüchtigen und veränderlichen Materialien technischen und alltagsnahen Ursprungs. Ihr Interesse gilt deren Eigenschaften wie Magnetismus, Leit- oder Bindefähigkeit, aber auch der Transformation von Lebensmitteln durch Kulturtechniken wie der Fermentation, Molekularküche oder bei der Herstellung von Bioplastik. In den daraus entstehenden Installationen, Sound- und Videoarbeiten kombiniert sie analoge und digitale, zufallsbasierte und präzise gesteuerte Mittel der Bild- und Klangerzeugung. Das Kunsthaus Langenthal zeigt ihre erste institutionelle Einzelausstellung, wofür Baumgartner neue ortsspezifische Arbeiten entwickelt.
Depuis les années 1960, Ruedi Bechtler (*1942) crée une œuvre sans compromis à sa manière, qui comprend entre autres des dessins à l'encre de Chine, des photographies, des objets en bois, des installations participatives, des objets fontaines, des objets lumineux et des assemblages d'objets trouvés. Grâce à des approches très inhabituelles, il fait descendre l'art de ses grands chevaux pour le rapprocher des gens et les faire participer au processus de création.Ruedi Bechtler se révèle être un artiste familier des approches expérimentales de l'art et qui se penche sur des thèmes actuels comme la crise de l'écologie, mais aussi sur le rôle de l'art en tant que composante sociale. En tant qu'artiste et mécène, il s'est engagé dans des institutions telles que le Kunsthaus de Zurich ou la F+F Schule für Kunst und Design.Ces dernières années, ses archives ont été mises à jour, ce qui permet aujourd'hui ce premier aperçu complet dans l'exposition et une publication.

La pratique artistique de Franziska Baumgartner (*1987) prend sa source dans l'utilisation expérimentale de matériaux éphémères et changeants d'origine technique et quotidienne. Elle s'intéresse à leurs propriétés telles que le magnétisme, la conductivité ou la capacité de liaison, mais aussi à la transformation des aliments par des techniques de culture comme la fermentation, la cuisine moléculaire ou la fabrication de bioplastique. Dans les installations, les travaux sonores et vidéo qui en résultent, elle combine des moyens analogiques et numériques, basés sur le hasard et contrôlés avec précision, de production d'images et de sons. Le Kunsthaus Langenthal présente sa première exposition individuelle institutionnelle, pour laquelle Baumgartner développe de nouveaux travaux spécifiques au lieu.
Dagli anni 60, Ruedi Bechtler (*1942) crea a modo suo un'opera senza compromessi, che comprende disegni a inchiostro, fotografie, oggetti in legno, installazioni partecipative, oggetti di fontana, oggetti luminosi e assemblaggi di oggetti trovati. Si interessa alle loro proprietà come il magnetismo, la conducibilità o la capacità di legame, ma anche alla trasformazione degli alimenti attraverso tecniche culturali come la fermentazione, la cucina molecolare o la produzione di bioplastiche. Nelle installazioni, opere sonore e video che ne risultano, combina mezzi analogici e digitali, basati sul caso e controllati con precisione, per generare immagini e suoni. La Kunsthaus Langenthal presenta la sua prima mostra personale istituzionale, per la quale Baumgartner sta sviluppando nuove opere site-specific.
Since the 1960s Ruedi Bechtler (*1942) has been accumulating a body of work that is uncompromising in its own way. It includes, among other works, ink drawings, photographs, wooden objects, participatory installations, fountain sculptures, light objects, and assemblages of found objects. Embracing unusual approaches, he retrieves art from the ivory tower and brings it before the people to allows his audience to participate in the process of creation.
The exhibition showcases Ruedi Bechtler as an artist familiar with experimental approaches to art and engaged with current topics, such as the ecological crisis, but also with the social function of art. As an artist and sponsor he has been active in institutions including Kunsthaus Zürich and F+F Schule für Kunst und Design.
The past few years have witnessed the organization of his archive, which now allows for the first comprehensive overview of his work in the exhibition and accompanying book publication.

Franziska Baumgartner’s (*1987) artistic practice has its origin in the experimental use of volatile and changeable materials found in mechanical and everyday devices. She is interested in physical qualities like magnetism, conductivity, and binding capacity, as well as the transformation of alimentary products through cultural practices like fermentation, molecular cooking, and the production of bioplastic. In the resulting installations and sound and video works, she combines analogue and digital image media for the production of image and sound – at times based on random processes, at others tightly controlled. Kunsthaus Langenthal presents her first institutional solo exhibition, for which Baumgartner developed new site-specific works.
