Mit mehr als zwanzig internationalen Künstlern vereint, bietet Un Lac Inconnu einen poetischen und philosophischen Spaziergang zwischen versunkenen und auftauchenden Landschaften, einen Versuch, dem Wasser Form zu geben, das zwischen den Fingern gleitet und doch eine Spur hinterlässt, ein Angebot zur Verbindung mit sich selbst und der Welt.
Die Bally Foundation freut sich, die bevorstehende Eröffnung ihres neuen Sitzes in der Villa Heleneum in Lugano am 20. April bekannt zu geben. Diese Eröffnung markiert den Beginn einer neuen und wichtigen Phase in der Entwicklung der Stiftung, die nach 17 Jahren endlich einen festen Standort an einem außergewöhnlichen Ort am Ufer des Luganer Sees haben wird. Seit 2006 ist die Mission der Stiftung die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur unter Betonung wichtiger Themen für Bally wie Innovation, Unterstützung von Kreativität und Aufmerksamkeit für ökologische Themen. Seit Beginn der Geschichte von Bally hat der Gründer eine engagierte soziale Vision und eine große Bereitschaft gezeigt, eng mit Künstlern, Architekten, Grafikern und Kreativen jeder Herkunft zusammenzuarbeiten. Heute setzt die Stiftung diese Tradition fort durch ein vielfältiges künstlerisches und kulturelles Angebot, das die Kreativität in all ihren Formen unterstützt und insbesondere junge Künstler durch ein Residenzprogramm und die Einbeziehung eines breiten Publikums aus der lokalen und internationalen Gemeinschaft sowie aus kulturellen und akademischen Institutionen fördert.
Wir haben eine beachtliche Arbeit geleistet, um diesen Ort wiederzubeleben, und die Vorbereitungsphase des Projekts hat wichtige Meilensteine für seine Umsetzung markiert, wie die Unterzeichnung des Vertrags mit der Stadt Lugano im November 2021, für die ich insbesondere das Vertrauen und die geteilte Vision danken möchte, sowie die Vorpremiere am 11. November letzten Jahres, die mit großer Begeisterung aufgenommen wurde.
Seit November 2022 hat Vittoria Matarrese die Leitung der Stiftung übernommen. Sie verfügt über bedeutende Erfahrungen in der Branche und ein internationales Profil, da sie leitende Positionen im Palais de Tokyo in Paris und der Villa Medici in Rom innehatte. Ihre Fähigkeiten und ihre zeitgenössische Vision kontinuierlicher Innovation sind entscheidend für die Weiterentwicklung der Bally Foundation und ihrer Aktivitäten wie dem Bally Artist Award. Mit der Ernennung von Vittoria konzentriert sich das Stiftungsprogramm auf zeitgenössische Kunst und Kreativität durch Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen, die aufstrebende und etablierte Künstler vereinen. In naher Zukunft wird das Residenzprogramm auch darauf abzielen, Bindungen zur Region, den Gärten und der Geschichte des Ortes zu stärken, indem Künstler aus der ganzen Welt willkommen geheißen werden.
Die Verbindungen zur Region und den lokalen Institutionen werden durch spezifische Programme entwickelt, beginnend mit einer engeren Zusammenarbeit mit dem MASI (Museum für Kunst der italienischen Schweiz). Ich bin sehr stolz darauf, heute sagen zu können, dass der Bally Artist Award als national bedeutsamer Preis angesehen wird, der für jeden Schweizer oder ansässigen Künstler offen ist. Ab diesem Jahr wird das ausgezeichnete Werk des Künstlers neben der Ausstellung im MASI im Palazzo Reali am 3. Juni erworben und in die permanenten Sammlungen des MASI aufgenommen, um die Unterstützung der Stiftung zu entwickeln und den ausgezeichneten Künstlern mehr Sichtbarkeit zu bieten.
Abschließend möchte ich unseren Mitarbeitern, Partnern, Unterstützern der Stiftung und schließlich den Mitgliedern des Verwaltungsrates der Stiftung danken, die dieses Projekt möglich gemacht haben. Ich möchte auch der Stadt Lugano für ihr Vertrauen und ihre Vision danken.
Ich wünsche Vittoria Matarrese alles Gute und dass ihre neue Position ein wichtiger Schritt, eine neue Herausforderung und ein Raum für Freiheit und Kreativität für alle ist.

La Bally Foundation est heureuse d'annoncer l'ouverture prochaine de son nouveau siège à la Villa Heleneum de Lugano, le 20 avril. Cette ouverture marque le début d'une nouvelle phase importante dans le développement de la fondation qui, après 17 ans, aura enfin un emplacement fixe dans un lieu exceptionnel sur les rives du lac de Lugano. Depuis 2006, la mission de la fondation est de promouvoir l'art et la culture en mettant l'accent sur des thèmes importants pour Bally tels que l'innovation, le soutien à la créativité et l'attention portée aux questions écologiques. Depuis le début de l'histoire de Bally, le fondateur a fait preuve d'une vision sociale engagée et d'une grande volonté de travailler en étroite collaboration avec des artistes, des architectes, des graphistes et des créateurs de tous horizons. Aujourd'hui, la fondation perpétue cette tradition en proposant une offre artistique et culturelle variée qui soutient la créativité sous toutes ses formes et encourage notamment les jeunes artistes grâce à un programme de résidences et à l'implication d'un large public issu de la communauté locale et internationale ainsi que des institutions culturelles et académiques.
Nous avons réalisé un travail considérable pour faire revivre ce lieu et la phase préparatoire du projet a marqué des étapes importantes pour sa mise en œuvre, comme la signature du contrat avec la ville de Lugano en novembre 2021, dont je tiens à remercier tout particulièrement la confiance et la vision partagée, ainsi que l'avant-première du 11 novembre dernier, qui a été accueillie avec un grand enthousiasme.
Depuis novembre 2022, Vittoria Matarrese a pris la direction de la fondation. Elle possède une expérience significative dans le secteur et un profil international, puisqu'elle a occupé des postes de direction au Palais de Tokyo à Paris et à la Villa Médicis à Rome. Ses compétences et sa vision contemporaine de l'innovation continue sont essentielles au développement de la Bally Foundation et de ses activités telles que le Bally Artist Award. Avec la nomination de Vittoria, le programme de la fondation se concentre sur l'art contemporain et la créativité à travers des expositions et des événements qui réunissent des artistes émergents et établis. Dans un avenir proche, le programme de résidence visera également à renforcer les liens avec la région, les jardins et l'histoire du lieu en accueillant des artistes du monde entier.
Les liens avec la région et les institutions locales seront développés par le biais de programmes spécifiques, à commencer par une collaboration plus étroite avec le MASI (Musée d'art de la Suisse italienne). Je suis très fier de pouvoir dire aujourd'hui que le Bally Artist Award est considéré comme un prix d'importance nationale, ouvert à tout artiste suisse ou résident. À partir de cette année, en plus de l'exposition au MASI, l'œuvre primée de l'artiste sera acquise au Palazzo Reali le 3 juin et fera partie des collections permanentes du MASI afin de développer le soutien de la fondation et d'offrir une plus grande visibilité aux artistes récompensés.
Pour conclure, je voudrais remercier nos collaborateurs, nos partenaires, les soutiens de la fondation et enfin les membres du conseil d'administration de la fondation qui ont rendu ce projet possible. Je tiens également à remercier la ville de Lugano pour sa confiance et sa vision.
Je souhaite le meilleur à Vittoria Matarrese et que son nouveau poste soit une étape importante, un nouveau défi et un espace de liberté et de créativité pour tous.

La Fondazione Bally è lieta di annunciare la prossima apertura della sua nuova sede presso Villa Heleneum a Lugano, il 20 aprile. Questa inaugurazione segna l'inizio di una nuova e importante fase nello sviluppo della Fondazione, che dopo 17 anni avrà finalmente una sede permanente in un luogo eccezionale sulle rive del Lago di Lugano. Dal 2006, la missione della Fondazione è stata quella di promuovere l'arte e la cultura, ponendo l'accento su temi importanti per Bally come l'innovazione, il sostegno alla creatività e l'attenzione alle questioni ecologiche. Fin dall'inizio della storia di Bally, il fondatore ha dimostrato una visione sociale impegnata e una grande disponibilità a lavorare a stretto contatto con artisti, architetti, grafici e creativi di ogni provenienza. Oggi, la Fondazione continua questa tradizione attraverso un programma artistico e culturale diversificato che sostiene la creatività in tutte le sue forme, in particolare sostenendo i giovani artisti attraverso un programma di residenze e l'impegno con un'ampia gamma di pubblico della comunità locale e internazionale, nonché con istituzioni culturali e accademiche.
Abbiamo svolto un notevole lavoro per rivitalizzare questo spazio e la fase preparatoria del progetto ha segnato tappe importanti per la sua realizzazione, come la firma del contratto con la Città di Lugano nel novembre 2021, di cui ringrazio in particolare la fiducia e la visione condivisa, e l'anteprima dell'11 novembre scorso, accolta con grande entusiasmo.
Dal novembre 2022, Vittoria Matarrese ha assunto la direzione della Fondazione. Vittoria Matarrese vanta una significativa esperienza nel settore e un profilo internazionale, avendo ricoperto posizioni di responsabilità presso il Palais de Tokyo di Parigi e Villa Medici a Roma. Le sue competenze e la sua visione contemporanea di continua innovazione sono fondamentali per l'ulteriore sviluppo della Fondazione Bally e delle sue attività, come il Bally Artist Award. Con la nomina di Vittoria, il programma della Fondazione si concentra sull'arte contemporanea e sulla creatività attraverso mostre ed eventi che uniscono artisti emergenti e affermati. Nel prossimo futuro, il programma di residenze mirerà anche a rafforzare i legami con la regione, i giardini e la storia del sito, accogliendo artisti da tutto il mondo.
I legami con la regione e le istituzioni locali saranno sviluppati attraverso programmi specifici, a partire da una più stretta collaborazione con il MASI (Museo d'Arte della Svizzera Italiana). Sono molto orgoglioso di poter dire oggi che il Bally Artist Award è considerato un premio di rilevanza nazionale aperto a qualsiasi artista svizzero o residente. Da quest'anno, oltre alla mostra al MASI, l'opera dell'artista premiato sarà acquisita a Palazzo Reali il 3 giugno e inserita nelle collezioni permanenti del MASI, per sviluppare il sostegno della Fondazione e dare maggiore visibilità agli artisti premiati.

Bringing together more than twenty international artists, Un Lac Inconnu offers a poetic and philosophical walk between submerged and emergent landscapes, an attempt to give shape to the water that slips between the fingers and yet leaves a trace, an offer to connect with oneself and the world.
The Bally Foundation is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of its new headquarters at the Villa Heleneum in Lugano on April 20. This opening marks the beginning of a new and important phase in the development of the Foundation, which after 17 years will finally have a permanent location in an exceptional place on the shores of Lake Lugano. Since 2006, the Foundation's mission has been to promote art and culture while emphasizing important themes for Bally such as innovation, support for creativity and attention to ecological issues. Since the beginning of Bally's history, the founder has shown a committed social vision and a great willingness to work closely with artists, architects, graphic designers and creative people of all origins. Today, the Foundation continues this tradition through a diverse artistic and cultural offering that supports creativity in all its forms and, in particular, encourages young artists through a residency program and the involvement of a broad audience from the local and international community as well as cultural and academic institutions.
We have done a considerable amount of work to revitalize this place, and the preparatory phase of the project has marked important milestones for its implementation, such as the signing of the contract with the City of Lugano in November 2021, for which I would like to thank in particular the trust and shared vision, and the preview on November 11 last year, which was taken up with great enthusiasm.
Since November 2022, Vittoria Matarrese has taken over the management of the Foundation. She has significant experience in the field and an international profile, having held senior positions at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Villa Medici in Rome. Her skills and contemporary vision of continuous innovation are crucial to the further development of the Bally Foundation and its activities such as the Bally Artist Award. With Vittoria's appointment, the Foundation program will focus on contemporary art and creativity through exhibitions and events that unite emerging and established artists. In the near future, the residency program will also aim to strengthen ties to the region, the gardens, and the history of the site by welcoming artists from around the world.
Links with the region and local institutions will be developed through specific programs, beginning with closer collaboration with MASI (Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland). I am very proud to say today that the Bally Artist Award is considered a nationally significant award, open to any Swiss or resident artist. Starting this year, in addition to the exhibition at MASI, the awarded artist's work will be acquired at Palazzo Reali on June 3 and taken up in the permanent collections of MASI, in order to develop the support of the Foundation and offer more visibility to the awarded artists.
Finally, I would like to thank our collaborators, partners, supporters of the Foundation and finally the members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation who made this project possible. I would also like to thank the City of Lugano for its trust and vision.
