Das Photoforum Pasquart präsentiert Tactics and Mythologies – eine fesselnde Ausstellung des in New York ansässigen Künstlerduos Andrea Orejarena & Caleb Stein. Dies ist die erste Station der Wanderausstellung nach ihrer Premiere in den Deichtorhallen Hamburg. Die Ausstellung untersucht das Zusammenspiel von zeitgenössischer Mythologie, Desinformation und visueller Erzählung im digitalen Zeitalter und ist Teil eines fortlaufenden Dialogs darüber, wie Bilder unser kollektives Bewusstsein prägen.
Mit einem vielschichtigen Ansatz verweben Orejarena & Stein dokumentarische, konzeptuelle und forschungsbasierte fotografische Strategien, um zu erforschen, wie sich Narrative und Bildkulturen in einer vernetzten Welt entwickeln. Ihr Projekt American Glitch – das Herzstück dieser Ausstellung – untersucht visuelle Mythologien im Internet sowie deren Verbindungen zu historischen Erinnerungen, Verschwörungstheorien und der Ästhetik digitaler Simulation. Das Duo hat ein umfassendes Archiv mit über 2.000 Bildern aufgebaut – darunter gefundenes Material und KI-generierte Visuals –, das einen kritischen und zugleich poetischen Blick auf die amerikanische Medienlandschaft bietet.

Le Photoforum Pasquart présente Tactics and Mythologies, une exposition captivante du duo d’artistes basé à New York Andrea Orejarena & Caleb Stein. Il s’agit de la première étape de cette exposition itinérante après sa première présentation aux Deichtorhallen de Hambourg. L’exposition explore l’interaction entre la mythologie contemporaine, la désinformation et la narration visuelle à l’ère numérique, faisant partie d’un dialogue continu sur la manière dont les images façonnent notre conscience collective.
Grâce à une approche multi-couches, Orejarena & Stein mêlent des stratégies photographiques documentaires, conceptuelles et fondées sur la recherche pour examiner l’évolution des récits et des cultures visuelles dans un monde en réseau. Leur projet American Glitch — au cœur de cette exposition — étudie les mythologies visuelles circulant en ligne et leurs intersections avec la mémoire historique, les théories du complot et l’esthétique de la simulation numérique. Le duo a constitué une vaste archive de plus de 2 000 images, incluant du matériel trouvé et des visuels générés par l’IA, offrant un regard critique mais poétique sur le paysage médiatique américain.

Photoforum Pasquart present Tactics and Mythologies, a compelling exhibition by New York-based artist duo Andrea Orejarena & Caleb Stein. This marks the first stop of this traveling exhibition, following its debut at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. The exhibition explores the interplay between contemporary mythology, disinformation, and visual storytelling in the digital age, forming part of an ongoing dialogue about how images shape our collective consciousness.
Through their multi-layered approach, Orejarena & Stein weave together documentary, conceptual, and research-based photographic strategies to examine how narratives and image cultures evolve in a networked world.
