On Menstruation Myths - Laia Abril
Mit On Menstruation Myths prangert Laia Abril die Schwierigkeiten an, mit denen Menstruierende in Gesellschaften konfrontiert sind, die diesen biologischen Mechanismus verachten. In Text und Bild erforscht sie die Mythen und Überzeugungen verschiedener Kulturen und vermischt dabei verwirrende Statistiken über den Alltag von Mädchen und Frauen während ihrer Zyklen. Indem sie sowohl Recherchen als auch visuelle Metaphern präsentiert, vermittelt die Installation ein besseres Verständnis für die tragischen Auswirkungen der Unkenntnis und des Schweigens, die den Menstruationskalender umgeben.
Container - Augustin Lignier
Augustin Lignier ist der zweite Preisträger des Prix Images Vevey × ECAL. Für seine Masterarbeit schloss er sich fast zwei Monate lang täglich im Inneren eines makellosen Würfels ein, der in seinem Zimmer gebaut wurde. Indem er wiederholt und zwanghaft auf den Auslöser drückt, testet er die Grenzen seines Körpers, um seine Beziehung zum fotografischen Gerät zu prüfen. Aus diesem performativen und konzeptuellen Ansatz resultiert Container, ein Projekt, das die entfremdende Beziehung zwischen dem Fotografen und seiner Kamera hinterfragt.
Each poison, a pillow - Stefanie Moshammer
Each Poison, A Pillow kombiniert Dokumentation und intime Erinnerungen und spricht ohne Umschweife ein Tabuthema an: den Alkoholismus von Frauen. Ausgehend von ihrer Kindheit und im Dialog mit ihrer Mutter entwirft Stefanie Moshammer eine Installation, die die Besonderheiten dieser Sucht mithilfe verschiedener Medien wie Fotografie, Video, Textilien, wissenschaftlichen Studien, Werbung und Screenshots thematisiert. Dieses umfangreiche Projekt ist auch Gegenstand eines Buches, das von Éditions Images Vevey herausgegeben wird.
A sudden gust of wind (after Hokusai) - Jeff Wall.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem unabhängigen Verleger TBW Books setzt der bekannte kanadische bildende Künstler Jeff Wall seine großformatige Fotografie A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai) in ein Buchobjekt um. Sobald die 98 losen Blätter, die in diesem Buch versammelt sind, an einer Wand hängen, werden sie durch die Luftströme in der Umgebung in leichte Bewegungen versetzt und verweisen auf die Originalfotografie: vier Personen und eine Schultasche mit Papieren, die vom Wind weggetragen werden - eine Inszenierung, die von einem Druck des japanischen Künstlers Hokusai inspiriert wurde.

Avec On Menstruation Myths, Laia Abril dénonce les difficultés auxquelles font face les personnes qui ont leurs règles dans des sociétés qui méprisent ce mécanisme biologique. Par le texte et l’image, elle explore les mythes et croyances de diverses cultures, mélangeant des statistiques déconcertantes sur le quotidien de filles et de femmes durant leurs cycles. Présentant à la fois des recherches et des métaphores visuelles, l’installation permet de mieux comprendre les répercussions tragiques de la méconnaissance et du silence qui entourent le calendrier menstruel.

Augustin Lignier est le deuxième lauréat du Prix Images Vevey × ECAL. Pour son travail de Master, pendant près de deux mois, il s’enferme quotidiennement à l’intérieur d’un cube immaculé construit dans sa chambre. En appuyant de façon répétitive et obsessionnelle sur le déclencheur, il teste les limites de son corps pour éprouver sa relation au dispositif photographique. De cette approche performative et conceptuelle résulte Container, un projet questionnant la relation aliénante qui lie le photographe et son appareil.

Combinant documentation et souvenirs intimes, Each Poison, A Pillow aborde sans détour un sujet tabou : l’alcoolisme au féminin. En partant de son enfance et en dialoguant avec sa mère, Stefanie Moshammer conçoit une installation évoquant les particularités de cette dépendance par le biais de divers médias,tels que la photographie, la vidéo, le textile, des études scientifiques, de la publicité ou encore des captures d’écran. Ce projet d’envergure fait également l’objet d’un livre publié par les Éditions Images Vevey.

En collaboration avec l’éditeur indépendant TBW Books, le célèbre plasticien canadien Jeff Wall transpose sa photographie grand format A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai) en livre-objet. Une fois accrochées à un mur, les 98 feuilles volantes rassemblées dans cet ouvrage s’animent de légers mouvements induits par les flux d’air ambiants, faisant référence à la photographie originale : quatre personnages et un cartable de papiers emportés par le vent, une mise en scène inspirée d’une estampe de l’artiste japonais Hokusai.
I miti delle mestruazioni - Laia Abril
In Miti sulle mestruazioni, Laia Abril denuncia le difficoltà incontrate dalle donne mestruate nelle società che disprezzano questo meccanismo biologico. Attraverso testi e immagini, l'autrice esplora i miti e le credenze di varie culture, combinando statistiche sconcertanti sulla vita quotidiana delle ragazze e delle donne durante il ciclo. Presentando sia ricerche che metafore visive, l'installazione permette di comprendere meglio le tragiche ripercussioni della mancanza di conoscenza e del silenzio che circondano il calendario mestruale.

Augustin Lignier è il secondo vincitore del Prix Images Vevey × ECAL. Per la sua tesi di Master, ha trascorso quasi due mesi al giorno all'interno di un cubo immacolato costruito nella sua camera da letto. Premendo ripetutamente e ossessivamente il pulsante di scatto, ha messo alla prova i limiti del suo corpo per sperimentare il suo rapporto con il dispositivo fotografico. Il risultato di questo approccio performativo e concettuale è Container, un progetto che mette in discussione il rapporto alienante tra fotografo e macchina fotografica.

Combinando documentazione e ricordi intimi, Each Poison, A Pillow affronta in modo diretto un argomento tabù: l'alcolismo nelle donne. Attingendo alle sue esperienze d'infanzia e a un dialogo con la madre, Stefanie Moshammer ha progettato un'installazione che evoca le particolarità di questa dipendenza attraverso una varietà di media, tra cui fotografia, video, tessuti, studi scientifici, pubblicità e catture di schermo. Questo progetto su larga scala è anche il soggetto di un libro pubblicato da Éditions Images Vevey.

In collaborazione con l'editore indipendente TBW Books, il celebre artista canadese Jeff Wall trasforma la sua fotografia di grande formato A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai) in un oggetto-libro. Una volta appesi a una parete, i 98 fogli sciolti di questo libro prendono vita con lievi movimenti indotti dalle correnti d'aria dell'ambiente, facendo riferimento alla fotografia originale: quattro personaggi e una borsa di fogli trasportati dal vento, una messa in scena ispirata a una stampa dell'artista giapponese Hokusai.

With On Menstruation Myths, Laia Abril denounces the difficulties faced by menstruating women in societies that despise this biological mechanism. Through text and image, she explores the myths and beliefs of various cultures, mixing disconcerting statistics on the daily lives of girls and women during their cycles. Presenting both research and visual metaphors, the installation helps us better understand the tragic repercussions of the lack of knowledge and silence surrounding the menstrual calendar.

Augustin Lignier is the second winner of the Prix Images Vevey × ECAL. For his Master's thesis, he locked himself inside an immaculate cube in his bedroom for almost two months. Repeatedly and obsessively pressing the shutter release, he tests the limits of his body to test his relationship to the photographic device. The result of this performative and conceptual approach is Container, a project that questions the alienating relationship between photographer and camera.

Combining documentation and intimate memories, Each Poison, A Pillow takes a straightforward approach to a taboo subject: female alcoholism. Drawing on her childhood experiences and a dialogue with her mother, Stefanie Moshammer has created an installation evoking the particularities of this addiction through a variety of media, including photography, video, textiles, scientific studies, advertising and screenshots. This large-scale project is also the subject of a book published by Éditions Images Vevey.

In collaboration with independent publisher TBW Books, renowned Canadian artist Jeff Wall transposes his large-format photograph A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai) into a book-object. Once hung on a wall, the 98 loose leaves gathered in this book come to life with slight movements induced by ambient airflows, making reference to the original photograph: four characters and a satchel of papers carried away by the wind, a staging inspired by a print by the Japanese artist Hokusai.
