RAY ECHOES IDENTITY
Die Ausstellung findet im Rahmen der RAY – Triennale der Fotografie statt.

Zum fünften Mal werden Frankfurt und die Rhein-Main-Region vom 03.05. bis 01.09.2024 mit Ausstellungen, zahlreichen Events und einem dreitägigen Festival Schauplatz von RAY – Triennale der Fotografie.
Die Künstler*innen der Triennale erforschen und reflektieren mittels Fotografie und verwandter Medien die Herausforderungen und Spannungsfelder der Selbstwahrnehmung und des menschlichen Miteinanders und stellen ihre Perspektiven zum Leitthema ECHOES vor.
Ihre Arbeiten spannen Bögen zwischen Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft sowie vom Intimen und Persönlichen bis zum Kollektiven. Durch das Festhalten dieser vielfältigen Momente und Phänomene schaffen sie ein Echo, das die Aufmerksamkeit der Öffentlichkeit auf ihre Themen lenkt. Ähnlich einem Schallerlebnis erzeugen sie so einen Nachhall, der über das Abgebildete hinaus als eigenständiges Ereignis wahrgenommen wird. RAY ECHOES konzentriert sich auf die drei Schwerpunkte.
Im Fotografie Forum Frankfurt fokussiert sich die Schau als einer von drei zentralen Ausstellungen der Triennale auf die Beziehung zwischen Fotografie und Identität. Die ausgestellten Künstler*innen Mónica Alcázar-Duarte, Joy Gregory, Jürgen Klauke, Dinu Li und Inuuteq Storch untersuchen in ihren Arbeiten das Entstehen und die Veränderung von Identitäten. Echos finden sich in Form von Reflexionen über persönliche Erfahrungen, Transzendenz und die Aktualität des Rückblicks. Neben aktuellen zeitgenössischen Fotografien und einer Videoinstallation werden frühere ikonografische Arbeiten in Zeiten politischer Polarisierung in Bezug auf Minderheiten, Kultur und Geschlecht wieder in den Vordergrund gerückt.
Das Konzept von RAY ECHOES wurde gemeinsam entwickelt von Anne-Marie Beckmann (Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation), Alexandra Lechner (Freie Kuratorin), Celina Lunsford (Fotografie Forum Frankfurt), und Matthias Wagner K (Museum Angewandte Kunst).

Pour la cinquième fois, Francfort et la région Rhin-Main seront le théâtre de RAY - Triennale der Fotografie du 03.05. au 01.09.2024 avec des expositions, de nombreux événements et un festival de trois jours.
Les artistes* de la Triennale explorent et réfléchissent, par le biais de la photographie et des médias apparentés, aux défis et aux champs de tension de la perception de soi et des interactions humaines, et transmettent leurs perspectives sur le thème directeur ECHOES.
Leurs travaux couvrent des domaines allant du passé, du présent et du futur, de l'intime et du personnel au collectif. En capturant ces multiples moments et phénomènes, ils créent un écho qui attire l'attention du public sur leurs sujets. A l'instar d'une expérience sonore, ils créent ainsi une réverbération qui est perçue comme un événement à part entière, au-delà de ce qui est représenté. RAY ECHOES se concentre sur ces trois points forts.
Au Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, l'exposition est l'une des trois expositions centrales de la Triennale et se concentre sur la relation entre la photographie et l'identité. Les artistes* exposés, Mónica Alcázar-Duarte, Joy Gregory, Jürgen Klauke, Dinu Li et Inuuteq Storch, examinent dans leurs travaux l'émergence et la transformation des identités. Des échos se retrouvent sous la forme de réflexions sur les expériences personnelles, la transcendance et l'actualité de la rétrospective. Outre des photographies contemporaines récentes et une installation vidéo, des travaux iconographiques antérieurs sont remis au premier plan en ces temps de polarisation politique concernant les minorités, la culture et le genre.
Le concept de RAY ECHOES a été développé conjointement par Anne-Marie Beckmann (Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation), Alexandra Lechner (conservatrice indépendante), Celina Lunsford (Fotografie Forum Frankfurt), et Matthias Wagner K (Museum Angewandte Kunst).

Per la quinta volta, Francoforte e la regione del Reno-Meno saranno teatro di RAY - Triennale di Fotografia dal 3 maggio al 1° settembre 2024 con mostre, numerosi eventi e un festival di tre giorni.
Utilizzando la fotografia e i media correlati, gli artisti della triennale esplorano e riflettono sulle sfide e le tensioni della percezione di sé e dell'interazione umana e presentano le loro prospettive sul tema centrale di ECHOES.
Le loro opere spaziano tra passato, presente e futuro, dall'intimo e personale al collettivo. Catturando questi diversi momenti e fenomeni, creano un'eco che attira l'attenzione del pubblico sui loro temi. Simili a un'esperienza sonora, creano un riverbero che viene percepito come un evento indipendente al di là di ciò che viene rappresentato. RAY ECHOES si concentra su questi tre punti focali.
Come una delle tre mostre centrali della Triennale, l'esposizione al Fotografie Forum di Francoforte si concentra sul rapporto tra fotografia e identità. Gli artisti esposti, Mónica Alcázar-Duarte, Joy Gregory, Jürgen Klauke, Dinu Li e Inuuteq Storch, esaminano l'emergere e la trasformazione delle identità nelle loro opere. Gli echi si trovano sotto forma di riflessioni sulle esperienze personali, sulla trascendenza e sull'attualità del guardare indietro. Oltre a fotografie contemporanee attuali e a un'installazione video, vengono riportate alla ribalta opere iconografiche precedenti in tempi di polarizzazione politica in relazione a minoranze, cultura e genere.

The fifth edition of the RAY – Triennial of Photography offers numerous exhibitions, events and 3-day Festival in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region.
The artists of the triennial use photography and related media to explore and reflect on the challenges and tensions of self-perception and human interaction. Their works span the past, present, and future, from the intimate and personal to the collective. By capturing these diverse moments and phenomena, they create an echo that draws the public’s attention to their themes. Similar to a sound experience, they create reverberation that is perceived as an independent event beyond what is depicted.
On this basis, RAY ECHOES concentrates on three focal points: identity, memory, and emotion.
Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is showing one of three central exhibitions of the Triennial focussing on the relationship between photography and identity.
The exhibited artists of Echoes Identity Mónica Alcázar-Duarte, Joy Gregory, Jürgen Klauke, Dinu Li, and Inuuteq Storch explore the making and breaking away from identities. Echoes are present in the form of reflections on personal experience, transcendence, and the currency of retrospection. Alongside recent contemporary photographs and a video installation, earlier iconographic works are brought back to the fore in times of political polarisation over minorities, culture, and gender.
The RAY Echoes concept was developed jointly by Anne-Marie Beckmann (Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation), Alexandra Lechner (freelance curator), Celina Lunsford (Fotografie Forum Frankfurt), and Matthias Wagner K (Museum Angewandte Kunst).
