Die Ausstellung erstreckt sich über die drei Räume im Erdgeschoss des Rath Museums. Das mittlere Feld ist Ella Maillart gewidmet, der linke Seitenraum Pauline Julier und der rechte Seitenraum Anne-Julie Raccoursier. Das Rath-Gebäude wird so in einen immersiven Ort mit drei verschiedenen Bereichen verwandelt: Sie können sich in drei verschiedenen Welten bewegen, die nebeneinander liegen, aber nicht miteinander verschmelzen.
Zunächst werden die Besucherinnen und Besucher in den zentralen Raum geführt, wo sie das Leben und Werk von Ella Maillart anhand ihrer Archive entdecken, die in Vitrinen und in Form einer zwölf Meter langen Zeitleiste ausgestellt sind. Ein Spaziergang mit Fotografien, Texten und überraschenden Dokumenten, die größtenteils aus dem Photo Elysée stammen, das Ella Maillarts Fotoarchiv aufbewahrt. Diese von der Reisenden geduldig gesammelten Stücke zeigen ihren Alltag ebenso wie ihr schriftstellerisches Talent, ihren Erfahrungsschatz, ihre Liebe zu großen Räumen, ihre sportlichen Fähigkeiten, ihren Sinn für Humor und ihre Vorliebe für die Weitergabe von Wissen. An den Wänden werden eine Auswahl an Landschaftsbildern und eine Auswahl an großformatigen Texten Fenster zu den von Ella Maillart bereisten Gebieten öffnen.
In einem der beiden Seitenflügel sind die poetischen und kompromisslosen Werke von Anne-Julie Raccoursier und Pauline Julier ausgestellt. Die beiden Künstlerinnen, deren Persönlichkeiten sehr unterschiedlich sind, wurden eingeladen, die Räume des Musée Rath zu teilen. Ihre zwischen Realität und Fiktion schwankenden Werke eröffnen neue Perspektiven und betrachten den Menschen heute in seiner individuellen und kollektiven Komplexität.

L’exposition se déploie sur les trois espaces du rez-de-chaussée du Musée Rath. La travée centrale est dédiée à Ella Maillart, l’espace latéral gauche à Pauline Julier et l’espace latéral droit à Anne-Julie Raccoursier. Le Rath est ainsi transformé en un lieu immersif en trois volets distincts : de quoi circuler dans trois univers différents qui se côtoient sans se confondre.
Guidé.e.s d’abord vers l’espace central, les visiteurs.euses découvriront la vie et l’oeuvre d’Ella Maillart à travers ses archives déployées en vitrine et sous forme d’une ligne de temps longue de douze mètres. Une promenade faite de photographies, de textes et de documents surprenants, provenant pour la plupart de Photo Elysée qui conserve le fonds d’archives photographiques d’Ella Maillart. Autant de pièces patiemment rassemblées par la voyageuse et qui révèlent son quotidien autant que ses talents d'écrivaine, la richesse de ses expériences, son amour des grands espaces, ses qualités sportives, sans oublier son sens de l’humour et son goût pour la transmission. Sur les murs, une sélection de paysages et un choix de textes grands formats ouvriront des fenêtres vers les contrées arpentées par Ella Maillart.
L’une et l’autre des deux travées latérales sont occupées par les oeuvres, poétiques et sans concession, d’Anne-Julie Raccoursier et de Pauline Julier. Les deux artistes aux personnalités bien distinctes ont ainsi été invitées à partager les espaces du musée Rath. Oscillant entre réalité et fiction, leurs oeuvres ouvrent d’autres perspectives et envisagent aujourd’hui l’humain dans sa complexité individuelle autant que collective.

La mostra si sviluppa nei tre spazi al piano terra del Musée Rath. La campata centrale è dedicata a Ella Maillart, lo spazio a sinistra a Pauline Julier e quello a destra a Anne-Julie Raccoursier. In questo modo, il Rath si trasforma in uno spazio immersivo con tre sezioni distinte, consentendo ai visitatori di muoversi attraverso tre mondi diversi che esistono l'uno accanto all'altro ma non si fondono.
I visitatori saranno guidati prima nello spazio centrale, dove scopriranno la vita e l'opera di Ella Maillart attraverso i suoi archivi, esposti in una vetrina e sotto forma di una linea del tempo lunga dodici metri. È una passeggiata tra fotografie, testi e documenti sorprendenti, la maggior parte dei quali proviene da Photo Elysée, che custodisce gli archivi fotografici di Ella Maillart. Tutti questi oggetti, raccolti pazientemente dalla viaggiatrice, rivelano la sua vita quotidiana, ma anche il suo talento di scrittrice, la ricchezza delle sue esperienze, il suo amore per la vita all'aria aperta, le sue qualità sportive, senza dimenticare il suo senso dell'umorismo e il gusto di trasmettere il suo lavoro. Alle pareti, una selezione di paesaggi e una scelta di testi di grande formato apriranno finestre sulle terre percorse da Ella Maillart.
Le due campate laterali sono occupate dalle opere poetiche e senza compromessi di Anne-Julie Raccoursier e Pauline Julier. Le due artiste, che hanno personalità ben distinte, sono state invitate a condividere lo spazio del Musée Rath. Oscillando tra realtà e finzione, le loro opere aprono nuove prospettive e considerano la complessità dell'essere umano individuale e collettivo di oggi.

The exhibition is spread over the three spaces on the first floor of the Musée Rath. The central bay is dedicated to Ella Maillart, the left side to Pauline Julier and the right side to Anne-Julie Raccoursier. The Rath is thus transformed into an immersive space in three distinct sections, allowing visitors to move through three different universes, side by side without merging.
Guided first to the central space, visitors will discover the life and work of Ella Maillart through her archives, displayed in showcases and in the form of a twelve-metre-long timeline. A walk through photographs, texts and surprising documents, most of which come from Photo Elysée, which holds Ella Maillart's photographic archive. All of these items, patiently collected by the traveller, reveal her daily life as much as her talents as a writer, the wealth of her experiences, her love of wide open spaces, her sporting qualities, not forgetting her sense of humour and her taste for passing on her work. On the walls, a selection of landscapes and a choice of large-format texts will open windows onto the lands surveyed by Ella Maillart.
The two side bays are occupied by the poetic, uncompromising works of Anne-Julie Raccoursier and Pauline Julier. The two artists, with their very distinct personalities, have been invited to share the spaces of the Musée Rath. Oscillating between reality and fiction, their works open up new perspectives and consider the human being in its individual and collective complexity.
