Seit ihrem Abschluss an der ZHdK arbeiten die Zwillingsbrüder Markus und Reto Huber unter dem Namen Huber.Huber zusammen. Bekanntheit erlangten sie durch ihre Collagen und Zeichnungen, sie haben in den letzten Jahren aber auch mit Installationen und skulpturalen Werken von sich reden gemacht. Stets mit einem poetisch-ästhetischen Anspruch sowie einer Nuance Ironie und Skurrilität kommentieren sie in ihrem vielschichtigen und konzeptionellen Werk das wechselhafte Verhältnis von Mensch, Kultur und Natur.
Obwohl die Geschichte des Automobils noch sehr jung ist, erst seit 1886 gab es erste Autos auf den Strassen, ist das Auto aus unserem Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken. Zunehmend wird das Auto zum Politikum.
In der Vergangenheit haben sich huber.huber in einigen ihrer Arbeiten indirekt mit dem Thema „Auto“ auseinandergesetzt. Zu erwähnen ist hier die Skulptur Findling (2010), für die sie einen fast vier Tonnen schweren Gneis-Findling mit einem der teuersten Autolacke auf dem Markt lackierten liessen. Aber auch in dem fotografischen Werk tauchen bei huber.huber immer wieder Autos, Autoteile oder Spuren davon auf. Zum Beispiel in der Fotoarbeit „STAUB“ (2020) mit Pflanzen an Strassenrändern, die durch den aufgewirbelten Staub der durchfahrenden Autos fast versteinert wirken. In der Arbeit „the world will be hotter“ (2015) haben huber.huber Frontscheibenabdeckungen im Autoinnern fotografiert. Die Abdeckungen sollen Sonnenstrahlung abhalten, um das Überhitzen des Innenraumes zu vermindern. Früher sah man diese Abdeckungen vor allem in südlichen Ländern. Mit den immer heisser werdenden Sommermonaten, sind sie aber auch bei uns mehr und mehr anzutreffen.
Im Spannungsfeld Mensch-Umwelt, in dem sich die Arbeit der beiden Künstler bewegt, drängt sich das Thema der Klimaerwärmung auf. Der Verkehr ist für fast 30 Prozent der gesamten CO2-Emissionen der EU verantwortlich, von denen 72 Prozent auf den Straßenverkehr entfallen.
Für die Ausstellung „Die Route wird neu berechnet“ in zeigen huber.huber vorwiegen Arbeiten, die sie extra für die Räume der Kunsthalle Wil erschaffen haben.
Depuis leur sortie de la ZHdK, les frères jumeaux Markus et Reto Huber travaillent ensemble sous le nom de Huber.Huber. Ils se sont fait connaître par leurs collages et leurs dessins, mais ces dernières années, ils ont également fait parler d'eux avec des installations et des œuvres sculpturales. Toujours avec une exigence poétique et esthétique ainsi qu'une nuance d'ironie et de bizarrerie, ils commentent dans leur œuvre complexe et conceptuelle la relation changeante entre l'homme, la culture et la nature.
Bien que l'histoire de l'automobile soit encore très récente, puisque les premières voitures n'ont fait leur apparition sur les routes qu'en 1886, la voiture fait désormais partie intégrante de notre quotidien. De plus en plus, la voiture devient un enjeu politique.
Par le passé, huber.huber a abordé indirectement le thème de la "voiture" dans certains de ses travaux. On peut citer ici la sculpture Findling (2010), pour laquelle ils ont fait peindre un bloc erratique de gneiss de près de quatre tonnes avec l'une des peintures automobiles les plus chères du marché. Mais chez huber.huber, les voitures, les pièces de voiture ou leurs traces apparaissent aussi régulièrement dans l'œuvre photographique. Par exemple dans le travail photographique "STAUB" (2020) avec des plantes au bord des routes qui semblent presque pétrifiées par la poussière soulevée par le passage des voitures. Dans le travail "the world will be hotter" (2015), huber.huber ont photographié des caches de pare-brise à l'intérieur des voitures. Ces caches sont censés bloquer le rayonnement solaire afin de réduire la surchauffe de l'habitacle. Autrefois, on voyait surtout ces caches dans les pays du sud. Mais avec les mois d'été de plus en plus chauds, vous les voyez de plus en plus chez nous aussi.
Dans le champ de tension entre l'homme et l'environnement dans lequel évolue le travail des deux artistes, le thème du réchauffement climatique s'impose. Les transports sont responsables de près de 30 pour cent de l'ensemble des émissions de CO2 de l'UE, dont 72 pour cent sont imputables au trafic routier.
Pour l'exposition "La route est recalculée" à, huber.huber présentent principalement des travaux qu'ils ont créés spécialement pour les locaux de la Kunsthalle Wil.
Da quando si sono diplomati alla ZHdK, i fratelli gemelli Markus e Reto Huber lavorano insieme sotto il nome di Huber.Huber. Si sono fatti conoscere per i loro collage e disegni, ma negli ultimi anni si sono affermati anche con installazioni e opere scultoree. Sempre con una pretesa poetico-estetica e una sfumatura di ironia e bizzarria, commentano il mutevole rapporto tra uomo, cultura e natura nel loro lavoro multistrato e concettuale.
Sebbene la storia dell'automobile sia ancora molto giovane - le prime vetture sono apparse sulle strade solo nel 1886 - è impossibile immaginare la nostra vita quotidiana senza l'automobile. L'automobile sta diventando sempre più una questione politica.
In passato, huber.huber hanno affrontato indirettamente il tema dell'"automobile" in alcune delle loro opere. Da segnalare la scultura Findling (2010), per la quale hanno fatto dipingere uno gneissindling di quasi quattro tonnellate con una delle vernici per auto più costose sul mercato. Ma anche le automobili, le parti di automobili o le loro tracce compaiono ripetutamente nel lavoro fotografico di Huber.Huber. Ad esempio, nell'opera fotografica "STAUB" (2020), con piante ai bordi delle strade che sembrano quasi pietrificate dalla polvere vorticosa delle auto in transito. Nell'opera "Il mondo sarà più caldo" (2015), huber.huber ha fotografato le coperture dei parabrezza all'interno delle automobili. Le coperture dovrebbero bloccare la radiazione solare per ridurre il surriscaldamento degli interni. In passato, queste coperture erano presenti soprattutto nei Paesi del Sud. Ma con l'avanzare dei mesi estivi sempre più caldi, anche questi fenomeni sono sempre più diffusi nel nostro Paese.
Nel campo della tensione tra l'uomo e l'ambiente, in cui si colloca il lavoro dei due artisti, emerge il tema del riscaldamento globale. I trasporti sono responsabili di quasi il 30% delle emissioni totali di CO2 dell'UE, il 72% delle quali è causato dal traffico stradale.
Per la mostra "Il percorso è ricalcolato" in huber.huber espongono principalmente opere che hanno creato appositamente per le sale della Kunsthalle Wil.
Since graduating from the ZHdK, the twin brothers Markus and Reto Huber have been working together under the name Huber.Huber. They became known for their collages and drawings, but in recent years they have also made a name for themselves with installations and sculptural works. Always with a poetic-aesthetic ambition as well as a nuance of irony and whimsicality, they comment in their multi-layered and conceptual work on the changing relationship between man, culture and nature.
Although the history of the automobile is still very young, with the first cars only appearing on the roads in 1886, it is impossible to imagine our everyday life without the car. Increasingly, the car is becoming a political issue.
In the past, huber.huber have indirectly dealt with the subject of the "car" in some of their works. Worth mentioning here is the sculpture Findling (2010), for which they had a gneissindling weighing almost four tons painted with one of the most expensive car paints on the market. But cars, car parts, or traces of them also appear again and again in huber.huber's photographic work. For example, in the photographic work "STAUB" (2020) with plants on roadsides that seem almost petrified by the swirling dust of the cars passing through. In the work "the world will be hotter" (2015), huber.huber photographed windshield covers inside cars. The covers are meant to block solar radiation to reduce the overheating of the interior. In the past, these covers were seen mainly in southern countries. But as the summer months get hotter and hotter, they are also becoming more and more common in our country.
In the field of tension between man and the environment, in which the work of the two artists is situated, the topic of global warming comes to mind. Transport is responsible for almost 30 percent of the EU's total CO2 emissions, 72 percent of which are caused by road traffic.
For the exhibition "The route is recalculated" in huber.huber show mainly works that they created especially for the rooms of the Kunsthalle Wil.
