Bi Hu Suo – A propos de la photographie chinoise émergente

Das CRP/ widmet vier aufstrebenden chinesischen Künstlern eine Gruppenausstellung, die das Ergebnis eines kuratorischen Dialogs zwischen Ruohao Hu, einem jungen Kommissar aus Kanton, und Audrey Hoareau, der Direktorin des CRP/, ist.
In Mandarin bedeutet Bi Hu Suo "Schutzraum". Dies ist auch der Titel dieser Ausstellung, die die junge chinesische Fotografie als Erkundungsgebiet bestimmt. Die neue Fotografieszene ist vielseitig und turbulent und wächst seit einigen Jahren im Reich der Mitte und darüber hinaus ins Unermessliche. Welche Themen treiben diese Generation von Künstlern an, die alle mit der Last der Macht und der Geschichte einer so komplexen Nation konfrontiert sind und von ihr angeregt werden? Mit der Internationalisierung der chinesischen Studenten, vor allem im Bereich der Kunst, tendieren die Bestrebungen immer mehr zu einem ungezügelten künstlerischen Ausdruck, der sich auch mit gesellschaftlichen Themen befasst. Anhand von vier ausgewählten Werken zeigt die Ausstellung die Fähigkeit dieser Künstler, ihren kreativen Prozess anzupassen und umwegige, indirekte Ansätze zu entwickeln. Die chinesisch-amerikanischen Beziehungen, die Erinnerung an die Kulturrevolution, Sicherheitsthemen oder auch die Geschlechterfrage: Zhang Zhidong, Zheng Andong, Ye Wuji und Wang Yingying haben alle gemeinsam, dass sie sensible Themen ansprechen, die zwar aktuell, aber auch heikel sind. Das CRP/ als weltoffenes Kunstzentrum, das sich für die Repräsentation aller fotografischen Handschriften und für die Meinungsfreiheit einsetzt, verschafft diesen qualitativ hochwertigen Arbeiten Sichtbarkeit und damit einen Überblick über die aufstrebende chinesische Szene.
Le CRP/ consacre une exposition collective à quatre artistes émergents chinois, fruit d’un dialogue curatorial entre Ruohao Hu, jeune commissaire de Canton et Audrey Hoareau, directrice du CRP/.
En mandarin, Bi Hu Suo signifie « abri ». C’est aussi le titre de cette exposition qui détermine la jeune photographie chinoise comme territoire d’exploration. Prolifique, turbulente, la nouvelle scène photographique se développe démesurément depuis quelques années dans l’Empire du Milieu et au-delà. Quels sujets animent cette génération d’artistes tous confrontés voir stimulés par la charge du pouvoir et de l’histoire d’une nation si complexe ? Avec l’internationalisation des étudiants chinois, en particulier dans le champs des arts, les aspirations tendent de plus en plus vers une expression artistique débridée, y compris sur des thématique de société. À travers quatre travaux sélectionnés, l’exposition met en avant la faculté de ces artistes à adapter leur processus créatif et à développer des approches détournées, indirectes. Relations sino-américaines, évocation de la révolution culturelle, thématiques sécuritaires ou encore question du genre, Zhang Zhidong, Zheng Andong, Ye Wuji et Wang Yingying ont pour point commun d’aborder des sujets sensibles, actuels mais délicats. Le CRP/ en tant que centre d’art tourné vers le monde et engagé pour la représentation de toutes les écritures photographiques et pour la liberté d’expression donne une visibilité à ces travaux d’une grande qualité et par là même un état de la scène chinoise émergente.

In mandarino, Bi Hu Suo significa "rifugio". È anche il titolo di questa mostra, che definisce la giovane fotografia cinese come un territorio di esplorazione. Prolifica e turbolenta, la nuova scena fotografica si è sviluppata straordinariamente negli ultimi anni nel Regno di Mezzo e oltre. Quali soggetti animano questa generazione di artisti, tutti confrontati o stimolati dal potere e dalla storia di una nazione così complessa? Con l'internazionalizzazione degli studenti cinesi, in particolare nelle arti, le aspirazioni sono sempre più verso un'espressione artistica sfrenata, anche su temi sociali. Attraverso quattro opere selezionate, la mostra evidenzia la capacità di questi artisti di adattare il loro processo creativo e di sviluppare approcci indiretti. Dalle relazioni sino-americane alla rivoluzione culturale, dalle questioni di sicurezza al genere, Zhang Zhidong, Zheng Andong, Ye Wuji e Wang Yingying hanno in comune il fatto di affrontare temi sensibili, attuali ma delicati. Il CRP/ come centro d'arte rivolto al mondo e impegnato nella rappresentazione di tutta la scrittura fotografica e nella libertà d'espressione dà visibilità a queste opere di grande qualità e quindi uno stato della scena emergente cinese.
The CRP/ is devoting a group exhibition to four emerging Chinese artists, the result of a curatorial dialogue between Ruohao Hu, a young curator from Canton, and Audrey Hoareau, director of the CRP/.

Prolific and turbulent, the new photographic scene has been developing inordinately over the past few years in the Middle Kingdom and beyond. What subjects animate this generation of artists, all of whom are confronted or stimulated by the power and history of such a complex nation? With the internationalization of Chinese students, especially in the field of arts, aspirations tend more and more towards an unbridled artistic expression, including on social issues. Through four selected works, the exhibition highlights the ability of these artists to adapt their creative process and to develop indirect approaches. From Sino-American relations to the cultural revolution, from security issues to gender, Zhang Zhidong, Zheng Andong, Ye Wuji and Wang Yingying all have in common that they tackle sensitive, current but delicate subjects. The CRP/ as an art center turned towards the world and committed to the representation of all photographic writing and freedom of expression gives visibility to these works of great quality and thus a state of the emerging Chinese scene.
