Swiss Press Photo 21 zeigt die besten Schweizer Presseaufnahmen des Jahres 2020. «Ein aussergewöhnliches Jahr, in jeder Hinsicht», schreibt der Jurypräsident Bernhard Giger in seinem Vorwort im Swiss Press Photo Jahrbuch. Die Corona-Pandemie bestimmte durch alle Kategorien die Themen der Fotografinnen und Fotografen. Auch für Sarah Carp stand die Welt still. Nur das Leben ging weiter. Dafür haben sich die Fotografin und ihre Kinder eine andere Welt gebaut, ihre ganz eigene kleine Gegenwelt der Phantasie in den eigenen vier Wänden. Mit ihrer Arbeit mit dem Titel «Parenthèse» ist sie als Swiss Press-Fotografin des Jahres 2021 ausgezeichnet worden. In einer breiten Auswahl werden neben den Siegerbildern der sechs Kategorien Aktualität, Alltag, Schweizer Geschichten, Porträt, Sport und Ausland auch zahlreiche weitere Eingaben aus dem diesjährigen Wettbewerb präsentiert. Damit vermittelt die Ausstellung einerseits einen vertieften Einblick in den veränderten Alltag der Schweizer Pressefotografie und andererseits eine weite Sicht auf die Schweiz und die Welt im vergangenen Coronajahr.

La pandémie de Corona a déterminé les thèmes des photographes dans toutes les catégories. Pour Sarah Carp aussi, le monde s'est arrêté. Seule la vie a continué. Pour cela, la photographe et ses enfants se sont construits un autre monde, leur propre petit contre-monde de fantaisie entre leurs quatre murs. Avec son travail intitulé "Parenthèse", elle a été nommée photographe de presse suisse de l'année 2021. Outre les images gagnantes dans les six catégories suivantes : actualité, vie quotidienne, histoires suisses, portrait, sport et étranger, de nombreuses autres contributions du concours de cette année seront présentées dans une large sélection. L'exposition offre ainsi, d'une part, un aperçu approfondi de l'évolution du quotidien de la photographie de presse suisse et, d'autre part, une vue d'ensemble de la Suisse et du monde au cours de l'année corona passée.

La pandemia di Corona ha determinato i temi dei fotografi in tutte le categorie. Anche per Sarah Carp il mondo si è fermato. Solo la vita è andata avanti. Per questo, la fotografa e i suoi figli si sono costruiti un altro mondo, il loro piccolo contro-mondo di fantasia tra le loro quattro mura. Con il suo lavoro intitolato "Parenthèse", è stata nominata Fotografo della stampa svizzera dell'anno 2021. Oltre alle immagini vincitrici nelle sei categorie di attualità, vita quotidiana, storie svizzere, ritratto, sport e estero, numerose altre voci del concorso di quest'anno saranno presentate in un'ampia selezione. L'esposizione offre quindi da un lato una visione approfondita della mutevole vita quotidiana della fotografia giornalistica svizzera e dall'altro un'ampia visione della Svizzera e del mondo nell'ultimo anno di Corona.

The Corona pandemic determined the themes of the photographers through all categories. For Sarah Carp, too, the world stood still. Only life went on. For that, the photographer and her children built themselves another world, their very own little counter-world of fantasy within their own four walls. With her work titled "Parenthèse" she has been awarded as Swiss Press Photographer of the Year 2021. In addition to the winning images in the six categories of topicality, everyday life, Swiss stories, portraits, sports and abroad, a broad selection of numerous other entries from this year's competition will be presented. The exhibition thus conveys, on the one hand, an in-depth insight into the changing everyday life of Swiss press photography and, on the other hand, a broad view of Switzerland and the world in the past Corona year.
