Kitsch, Spiel, Exzentrik und Unsinn und viele knallbunte Farben – Mit Abzgram präsentiert C/O Berlin die erste institutionelle Solo-Ausstellung der polnischen Multimediakünstlerin Karolina Wojtas (*1996), die den C/O Berlin Talent Award 2022 in der Kategorie Artist gewonnen hat. Mit böser Ironie antwortet Wojtas auf das rigide polnische Schulsystem, das Kindern Regeln auferlegt, die militärische, ja beinahe faschistoide Züge haben. Das seit 2018 konstant wachsende Projekt besteht aus Videos und Fotografien, die die Künstlerin vorfindet und inszeniert, um sie dann für die Bedruckung verschiedener Materialien zu verwenden, die den Ausstellungsraum in eine begehbare Installationen verwandeln. Im Sinne eines Reenactments lädt Wojtas die Besucher:innen ein, sich selbst in die Welt des Kindes zurückzuversetzen. Wenn man dem Schweigen und der Disziplin als Mittel des Respekts entsagt, werden dann Kreativität und Experiment möglich?
Seit 2020 wird der C/O Berlin Talent Award durch die Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung ermöglicht.
Kitsch, jeu, excentricité et non-sens et beaucoup de couleurs vives - Avec Abzgram, C/O Berlin présente la première exposition institutionnelle en solo de l'artiste multimédia polonaise Karolina Wojtas (*1996), qui a remporté le C/O Berlin Talent Award 2022 dans la catégorie Artist. Avec une ironie féroce, Wojtas répond à la rigidité du système scolaire polonais qui impose aux enfants des règles aux accents militaires, voire presque fascistoïdes. Le projet, en constante évolution depuis 2018, se compose de vidéos et de photographies que l'artiste trouve et met en scène, avant de les utiliser pour imprimer différents matériaux qui transforment l'espace d'exposition en installations praticables. Dans l'esprit d'une reconstitution, Wojtas invite les visiteurs à se replonger dans le monde de l'enfant. Si l'on renonce au silence et à la discipline comme moyen de respect, la créativité et l'expérimentation deviennent-elles possibles ?

Con perfida ironia, Wojtas risponde al rigido sistema scolastico polacco, che impone ai bambini regole dai tratti militari, quasi fascistoidi. Il progetto, in costante crescita dal 2018, consiste in video e fotografie che l'artista trova e mette in scena, per poi stamparli su vari materiali che trasformano lo spazio espositivo in un'installazione walk-in. Nel senso di una rievocazione, Wojtas invita i visitatori a trasportarsi nel mondo del bambino. Quando si rinuncia al silenzio e alla disciplina come strumento di rispetto, la creatività e la sperimentazione diventano possibili?

With wicked irony, Wojtas responds to the rigid Polish school system, which imposes rules on children that have military, almost fascistoid features. The project, which has been growing constantly since 2018, consists of videos and photographs that the artist finds and stages, then uses to print on various materials that transform the exhibition space into a walk-in installation. In the sense of a reenactment, Wojtas invites the visitors:inside to put themselves back into the world of the child. When one renounces silence and discipline as a means of respect, do creativity and experimentation become possible?
