Die Galerie CAMERA WORK präsentiert "Walk of Fame", eine Gruppenausstellung mit rund 60 eindrucksvollen Porträts aus dem OEuvre 30 namhafter Fotokünstler. Die Ausstellung, mit stilprägenden Werken aus 100 Jahren Filmhistorie (1920–2020), ist eine Hommage an deren glamouröse Protagonisten. Die 1960er und 1970er Jahre bestimmen den Schaffensschwerpunkt und werden flankiert von bedeutenden Porträts aus weiteren Dekaden.
Werke von Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstaedt und Roy Schatt sowie die durchdringende Präsenz der Close-Ups Martin Schoellers, die kraftvollen Arbeiten von Annie Leibovitz und die cineastischen Inszenierungen David Yarrows visualisieren in "Walk of Fame" die unvergleichliche Eleganz und das Charisma weltweit bekannter Filmikonen – jeweils im Zusammenspiel mit den größten Fotokünstlern ihrer Zeit; so zeugen Elliott Erwitts Porträts von Grace Kelly oder Marlene Dietrich von dessen außergewöhnlichem Gespür für die Symbiose von Persönlichkeit und Augenblick. Ausgewählte Arbeiten aus dem Opus des Fotografen Terry O’Neills beschreiben in der Ausstellung die glanzvolle Ära der Filmstars Hollywoods in den frühen 1970er Jahren, deren Fortführung bis heute anhand der ikonischen Werke Herb Ritts’ und Patrick Demarcheliers sichtbar wird.
Beeindruckende Vintage-Fotografien, unter anderem aus der Sammlung der CAMERA WORK AG, ergänzen die Ausstellung mit Porträts der Filmlegenden Charlie Chaplin, Gary Cooper, Romy Schneider, Clark Gable, Ingrid Bergman, Prinzessin Gracia Patricia und Gregory Peck – letztere meisterlich inszeniert von Yousuf Karsh, einem der bedeutendsten Portraitfotografen des letzten Jahrhunderts.

Works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstaedt and Roy Schatt as well as the penetrating presence of Martin Schoeller's close-ups, the powerful works of Annie Leibovitz and the cinematic stagings of David Yarrow visualize in "Walk of Fame" the incomparable elegance and charisma of world-famous film icons - in each case in interaction with the greatest photographic artists of their time; Elliott Erwitt's portraits of Grace Kelly or Marlene Dietrich, for example, bear witness to his extraordinary feeling for the symbiosis of personality and moment. In the exhibition, selected works from photographer Terry O'Neills' opus describe the glamorous era of Hollywood film stars in the early 1970s, the continuation of which can be seen today in the iconic works of Herb Ritts and Patrick Demarchelier.
