2017 wurde ich anlässlich der 25-jährigen Freundschaft zwischen der Schweiz und der Ukraine eingeladen, im Kyiv National Museum Shevchenko eine Ausstellung und ein Buch (Texte von Klitschko und Andrei Kurkov) zu gestalten. Die Bilder zeigen eine poetische Vision des Lebens, das nach dem Krieg im Donbass im Jahr 2014 wieder in Gang kam. Heute, in letzter Minute aus der Ukraine repatriiert, tragen diese Werke eine neue Bedeutung und sind zu Zeugen des aktuellen Krieges geworden. Catherine Gfeller
Während dieser Ausstellung wird ein Teil des Erlöses aus dem Verkauf der Werke von Catherine Gfeller an die humanitären Aktionen des Internationalen Komitees vom Roten Kreuz (IKRK) gespendet. Die Delegierten des IKRK arbeiten nach den Grundsätzen der Neutralität, Unabhängigkeit und Unparteilichkeit, um alle Opfer bewaffneter Konflikte zu schützen und zu unterstützen, unabhängig von ihrer politischen, religiösen, ethnischen oder sozialen Zugehörigkeit.
"Wir gingen mit Catherine Gfeller langsam durch die Stadt. Wir gingen und sprachen. Sie hörte mir zu, schaute aber auf die Stadt, als würde Kiew zu ihr sprechen, nicht ich. In Wahrheit war es wirklich Kiew, das zu ihr sprach, aber durch meine Stimme und meine Wahrnehmung. Dennoch sah sie ein anderes Kiew, ihr eigenes. Und ihr Kiew, gehört, gesehen, in Fotos und Texten wiedergegeben, erzählt mir neue Geschichten über mich selbst, bringt mich zum Lächeln und zum Nachdenken. Jeder Mensch hat seine eigene Sicht auf die Dinge. Catherine Gfeller hat eine mehrdimensionale Sicht, sie erzählt von der Stadt, die sie gesehen und gehört hat, als etwas Größeres als eine einfache Stadt, als eine besondere Welt, die man nur durch die Eingangstür betreten kann, deren Schlüssel in Catherines Hand liegt." En 2017, à l’occasion des 25 ans d’Amitié entre la Suisse et l’Ukraine, j’ai été invitée à réaliser une exposition et un livre (textes de Klitschko et Andrei Kurkov) au Kyiv National Museum Shevchenko. Ces images montrent une vision poétique de la vie qui reprenait ses droits suite à la guerre au Donbass en 2014. Aujourd’hui, rapatriées in extremis d’Ukraine, ces oeuvres portent un sens nouveau et sont devenues des témoins de la guerre actuelle. Catherine Gfeller
Lors de cette exposition, une partie des bénéfices de la vente des oeuvres de Catherine Gfeller sera reversée aux actions humanitaires menées par le Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR). Ses délégué.e.s travaillent dans le respect des principes de neutralité, d’indépendance et d’impartialité, pour protéger et assister toutes les victimes de conflits armés, sans distinction d’appartenance politique, religieuse, ethnique ou sociale.
« Nous nous sommes promenés lentement dans la ville avec Catherine Gfeller. Nous avons marché et parlé. Elle m’écoutait, mais regardait la ville, comme si c’était Kiev qui lui parlait, pas moi. En vérité, c’était vraiment Kiev qui lui parlait, mais par le biais de ma voix et de ma perception. Pourtant, elle a vu une autre Kiev, la sienne. Et son Kiev, entendu, vu, reproduit dans les photos et les textes, me raconte de nouvelles histoires sur moi-même, me fait sourire et réfléchir. Chaque personne a sa propre vision des choses. Nel 2017, in occasione dei 25 anni di amicizia tra Svizzera e Ucraina, sono stato invitato a realizzare una mostra e un libro (testi di Klitschko e Andrei Kurkov) presso il Museo Nazionale Shevchenko di Kiev. Queste immagini mostrano una visione poetica della vita che stava riprendendo vita dopo la guerra nel Donbass nel 2014. Oggi, rimpatriate in extremis dall'Ucraina, queste opere hanno un nuovo significato e sono diventate testimoni della guerra in corso. Catherine Gfeller
In occasione di questa mostra, una parte dei profitti derivanti dalla vendita delle opere di Catherine Gfeller sarà devoluta al lavoro umanitario del Comitato Internazionale della Croce Rossa (CICR). I suoi delegati operano secondo i principi di neutralità, indipendenza e imparzialità, per proteggere e assistere tutte le vittime dei conflitti armati, indipendentemente dalla loro appartenenza politica, religiosa, etnica o sociale.
"Abbiamo camminato lentamente per la città con Catherine Gfeller. Abbiamo camminato e parlato. Mi ascoltava, ma guardava la città, come se fosse Kiev a parlare con lei, non io. In realtà, era Kiev che le parlava, ma attraverso la mia voce e la mia percezione. Eppure vedeva un'altra Kiev, la sua. E la sua Kiev, sentita, vista, riprodotta in foto e testi, mi racconta nuove storie su di me, mi fa sorridere e pensare. Ognuno ha la propria visione delle cose. Catherine Gfeller ha una visione multidimensionale, racconta la città che ha visto e sentito come qualcosa di più grande di una semplice città, come un mondo speciale a cui si può accedere solo attraverso la porta d'ingresso, la cui chiave è nella mano di Catherine". In 2017, on the occasion of 25 years of Friendship between Switzerland and Ukraine, I was invited to make an exhibition and a book (texts by Klitschko and Andrei Kurkov) at the Kyiv National Museum Shevchenko. These images show a poetic vision of life that was regaining its rights following the war in Donbass in 2014. Today, repatriated in extremis from Ukraine, these works carry a new meaning and have become witnesses to the current war. Catherine Gfeller
During this exhibition, part of the profits from the sale of Catherine Gfeller's works will be donated to the humanitarian actions carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Its delegates work in accordance with the principles of neutrality, independence and impartiality, to protect and assist all victims of armed conflict, regardless of political, religious, ethnic or social affiliation.

In truth, it was really Kiev talking to her, but through my voice and my perception. Yet she saw another Kiev, hers.
