Zum ersten Mal in seiner vierzigjährigen Geschichte stellt das Kunsthaus Zofingen die gesamte Fläche der Videokunst zur Verfügung. 15 Arbeiten, verteilt auf zwei Stockwerke, sind im offenen Raum ausgestellt. Der offene Raum ist eine interessante Herausforderung: Wir sind nicht im Kino, wo alles im Dunkeln verschwindet und jede*r Besucher*in für sich alleine ins Bild eintaucht, sondern in einer Ausstellung, die die Räumlichkeiten des Kunsthauses und die gezeigten Arbeiten miteinander verbindet. Der Rundgang wird farbig, leise, froh, bedacht, humorvoll, wild, berührend, laut und still, und schliesst ab im Café «Uferlos». Das Café ist Teil der Ausstellung und offizieller Ort für den Austausch unter Künstler*innen, Kulturschaffenden und interessierten Personen.
Die Videokunst ist mittlerweile 60 Jahre alt. Waren es zu Beginn vor allem auf Monitoren gezeigte Arbeiten, die umständlich, teuer und aufwändig produziert wurden, ist die Videotechnik heute für so gut wie jede*n zugänglich und somit auch in Museen, Galerien und Kunstmessen angekommen. Aus den einst Ein-Kanal-Monitorarbeiten wurden raumfüllende, begehbare Installationen.
Das Kunsthaus Zofingen zeigt Arbeiten auf Monitoren und als Projektion, Videostills und Skulpturen. Vertreten sind Künstlerinnen, welche gerade erst am Anfang ihrer Karriere stehen und andere, welche national oder auch international in der Kunst Massstäbe gesetzt haben.
Einige der ausgestellten Arbeiten erinnern uns an vergangene Zeiten und andere wirken wie aus der Zukunft. Wiederum andere stellen Verbindung zu historischen Arbeiten her oder sind eine Reflexion über den heutigen (politischen) Zustand der Welt. Vom Experiment zu intuitiven oder dramaturgisch gebauten Videos.
Für uns an erster Stelle steht die Qualität der Arbeiten.

Pour la première fois en quarante ans d'histoire, le Kunsthaus Zofingen met toute sa surface à disposition de l'art vidéo. Quinze œuvres, réparties sur deux étages, sont exposées dans un espace ouvert. L'espace ouvert est un défi intéressant : nous ne sommes pas dans un cinéma où tout disparaît dans l'obscurité et où chaque* visiteur* est plongé dans l'image pour lui-même, mais dans une exposition qui relie les locaux du Kunsthaus et les travaux présentés. La visite sera colorée, silencieuse, joyeuse, réfléchie, pleine d'humour, sauvage, touchante, bruyante et silencieuse, et se terminera au café "Uferlos". Le café fait partie de l'exposition et est un lieu officiel d'échange entre les artistes*, les acteurs culturels et les personnes intéressées.
L'art vidéo a aujourd'hui 60 ans. Alors qu'à ses débuts, il s'agissait surtout d'œuvres présentées sur des moniteurs, dont la production était compliquée, coûteuse et complexe, la technique vidéo est aujourd'hui accessible à presque tout le monde* et a donc également fait son entrée dans les musées, les galeries et les foires d'art. Les travaux de monitoring à un seul canal sont devenus des installations qui remplissent l'espace et sont accessibles.
Le Kunsthaus Zofingen présente des travaux sur moniteurs et sous forme de projection, des vidéos et des sculptures. Y sont représentées des artistes féminines qui n'en sont qu'au début de leur carrière et d'autres qui ont posé des jalons dans le domaine de l'art au niveau national ou international.
Certaines des œuvres exposées nous rappellent le passé, d'autres semblent venir du futur. D'autres encore font le lien avec des travaux historiques ou sont une réflexion sur l'état (politique) actuel du monde. De l'expérimentation aux vidéos intuitives ou construites de manière dramaturgique.
Pour nous, la qualité des travaux est primordiale.

Per la prima volta nella sua storia quarantennale, la Kunsthaus Zofingen mette a disposizione della videoarte il suo intero spazio. 15 opere, distribuite su due piani, sono esposte nell'open space. L'open space è una sfida interessante: non siamo in un cinema dove tutto scompare nel buio e ogni visitatore è immerso nell'immagine da solo, ma in una mostra che collega i locali del Kunsthaus e le opere esposte. La visita è colorata, tranquilla, allegra, riflessiva, umoristica, selvaggia, commovente, rumorosa e silenziosa, e si conclude nel caffè "Uferlos". Il caffè fa parte della mostra ed è un luogo ufficiale per il dialogo tra artisti, professionisti della cultura e altre parti interessate.
La videoarte ha ormai 60 anni. Se all'inizio si trattava soprattutto di opere proiettate su monitor, ingombranti, costose e complesse da produrre, oggi la tecnologia video è accessibile a quasi tutti e quindi è arrivata anche nei musei, nelle gallerie e nelle fiere d'arte. Quelle che un tempo erano opere su monitor a un solo canale sono diventate installazioni che riempiono le stanze.
La Kunsthaus Zofingen espone opere su monitor e come proiezioni, fotogrammi video e sculture. Sono presenti artisti che hanno appena iniziato la loro carriera e altri che hanno stabilito standard nazionali e internazionali nell'arte.
Alcune delle opere esposte ci ricordano tempi passati, altre sembrano provenire dal futuro. Altre ancora stabiliscono collegamenti con opere storiche o sono una riflessione sull'attuale stato (politico) del mondo. Da esperimenti a video intuitivi o drammaturgicamente costruiti.
Per noi la qualità delle opere è fondamentale.

For the first time in its forty-year history, the Kunsthaus Zofingen is making its entire space available for video art. 15 works, spread over two floors, are exhibited in the open space. The open space is an interesting challenge: we are not in a movie theater, where everything disappears into the dark and each visitor is immersed in the image on their own, but in an exhibition that connects the space of the Kunsthaus and the works on display. The tour is colorful, quiet, happy, thoughtful, humorous, wild, touching, loud and quiet, and concludes in the café "Uferlos". The café is part of the exhibition and an official place for exchange between artists, cultural workers and interested parties.
Video art is now 60 years old. While in the beginning it was mainly works shown on monitors that were cumbersome, expensive and complex to produce, video technology is now accessible to almost everyone and has thus also arrived in museums, galleries and art fairs. What were once single-channel monitor works have become room-filling, walk-in installations.
The Kunsthaus Zofingen is showing works on monitors and as projections, video stills and sculptures. It features artists who are just at the beginning of their careers and others who have set national and international standards in art.
Some of the exhibited works remind us of times gone by and others seem to be from the future. Still others establish links to historical works or are a reflection on the current (political) state of the world. From experiments to intuitive or dramaturgically constructed videos.
For us, the quality of the works is paramount.
