Une histoire d'images – Donation Antoine de Galbert

Das Museum zeigt die Ausstellung Une histoire d'images, eine erste Bilanz des Fotobestands, der in den letzten vier Jahren dank der regelmäßigen Spenden von Antoine de Galbert und seiner Stiftung zusammengetragen wurde. Die Sammlung bietet ein beeindruckendes Panorama unserer Zeit und der entscheidenden Rolle, die die Fotografie bei der Gestaltung unserer Wahrnehmungen und zeitgenössischen Mythologien spielt.
Seit 2020 hat sich Antoine de Galbert verpflichtet, die Bereicherung der Sammlungen des Museums im Bereich der Fotografie zu unterstützen, indem er regelmäßig entweder direkt oder über seine Stiftung Schenkungen macht. Die Auswahl der gespendeten Bilder erfolgt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Museum und seinem Direktor Guy Tosatto, wobei der Blick und die Sensibilität des Sammlers voll zum Ausdruck kommen. Diese Schenkung bildet einen "Fonds von Antoine de Galbert-Fotografien" innerhalb der Sammlungen, der die bereits vorhandenen Bestände ergänzt.
Ähnlich wie bei der Sammlung von Antoine de Galbert, deren Ausstellung Souvenirs de voyage das Museum 2019 präsentierte, wird diese Auswahl nicht von einem streng historischen Ansatz oder thematischen oder ästhetischen Kriterien diktiert, sondern beruht vielmehr auf Begegnungen mit Werken, die die Vision eines Zustands der Welt skizzieren, ohne Manichäismus oder Vorurteile.
In diesem Bestand finden sich Bilder, die - ohne Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit - auf bedeutende Ereignisse in der Geschichte verweisen, aber auch auf einige Persönlichkeiten, die als Symbolfiguren für die Unterdrückung oder Befreiung von Völkern stehen. Man begegnet Gesichtern und Körpern anonymer Frauen und Männer, die unter dem Objektiv der Fotografen auf oft ergreifende oder gar tragische Weise das Schicksal einer Menschheit offenbaren, die mit dem Fortschreiten einer Geschichte zu kämpfen hat, die sie überholt und oft zermalmt...
Anhand von 270 Werken, die manchmal aus einer großen Gruppe von Bildern bestehen, von 95 bekannten oder anonymen Fotografen, von Dorothea Lange bis Wiktoria Wojciechowska, von Paul Strand bis David Goldblatt, von Luc Delahaye bis Gilles Raynaldy, präsentiert diese Ausstellung eine erste Bilanz dieses außergewöhnlichen Mäzenatentums. Sie ermöglicht es, ein objektives und zugleich subjektives Porträt unserer Zeit zu skizzieren und gleichzeitig auf originelle Weise eine bestimmte Vision der Fotografie zu veranschaulichen.
Le musée présentera l’exposition Une histoire d’images, premier bilan du fonds de photographies rassemblé ces quatre dernières années grâce aux dons réguliers effectués par Antoine de Galbert et sa fondation. L’ensemble offre un panorama impressionnant de notre époque et du rôle déterminant joué par la photographie dans l’élaboration de nos perceptions et des mythologies contemporaines.
Depuis 2020, Antoine de Galbert s’est engagé à soutenir l’enrichissement des collections du musée dans le domaine de la photographie en faisant régulièrement des dons soit directement, soit à travers sa fondation. Le choix des images offertes est opéré en lien étroit avec le musée et son directeur Guy Tosatto, tout en laissant pleinement s’exprimer le regard et la sensibilité du collectionneur. Cette donation constitue un « fonds de photographies Antoine de Galbert » au sein des collections qui vient compléter l’ensemble déjà existant.
À l’instar de la collection d’Antoine de Galbert dont le musée a présenté en 2019 l’exposition Souvenirs de voyage, ces choix ne sont pas dictés par une démarche strictement historique ou des critères thématiques ou esthétiques mais relèvent plutôt de rencontres avec des oeuvres qui esquissent la vision d’un état du monde, sans manichéisme ni a priori.
On trouvera dans ce fonds des images qui renvoient, sans exhaustivité, à des événements marquants de l’histoire, mais aussi à quelques personnalités, figures emblématiques de l’oppression ou de la libération des peuples. On y rencontrera des visages et des corps de femmes et d’hommes anonymes qui, sous l’objectif des photographes, révèlent de manière souvent poignante voire tragique, le destin d’une humanité aux prises avec l’avancée d’une Histoire qui la dépasse et souvent la broie…
Ainsi, à travers 270 oeuvres parfois composées d’un grand ensemble d’images, réalisées par 95 photographes connus ou anonymes, de Dorothea Lange à Wiktoria Wojciechowska, de Paul Strand à David Goldblatt, de Luc Delahaye à Gilles Raynaldy, cette exposition présente un premier bilan de ce mécénat exceptionnel. Elle permet d’esquisser un portrait à la fois objectif et subjectif de notre époque tout en illustrant de manière originale une certaine vision de la photographie.
Il museo presenterà la mostra Une histoire d'images, la prima valutazione della collezione di fotografie assemblate negli ultimi quattro anni grazie alle donazioni regolari di Antoine de Galbert e della sua fondazione. La collezione offre un'impressionante panoramica dei nostri tempi e del ruolo decisivo svolto dalla fotografia nel plasmare le nostre percezioni e mitologie contemporanee.
Dal 2020, Antoine de Galbert si impegna ad arricchire le collezioni fotografiche del museo attraverso donazioni regolari, direttamente o tramite la sua fondazione. Le immagini donate sono scelte in stretta collaborazione con il museo e il suo direttore Guy Tosatto, lasciando che la visione e la sensibilità del collezionista si esprimano pienamente. Questa donazione costituisce una "collezione di fotografie di Antoine de Galbert" all'interno delle collezioni del museo, a complemento di quelle già esistenti.
Come per la collezione Antoine de Galbert, di cui il museo ha presentato la mostra Souvenirs de voyage nel 2019, queste scelte non sono dettate da un approccio strettamente storico o da criteri tematici o estetici, ma piuttosto dall'incontro con opere che delineano una visione di uno stato del mondo, senza manicheismi o preconcetti.
Le immagini di questa collezione sono riferimenti non esaustivi a eventi chiave della storia, ma anche a una serie di personaggi che sono figure emblematiche dell'oppressione o della liberazione dei popoli. I volti e i corpi di uomini e donne anonimi si rivelano attraverso l'obiettivo dei fotografi, spesso in modo struggente, persino tragico, rivelando il destino di un'umanità alle prese con l'avanzata di una Storia che l'ha superata e spesso schiacciata...
Attraverso 270 opere, talvolta composte da un grande gruppo di immagini, di 95 fotografi, alcuni famosi, altri no, da Dorothea Lange a Wiktoria Wojciechowska, da Paul Strand a David Goldblatt, da Luc Delahaye a Gilles Raynaldy, la mostra presenta un primo bilancio di questo eccezionale mecenatismo. Fornisce un ritratto del nostro tempo, oggettivo e soggettivo al tempo stesso, e illustra in modo originale una certa visione della fotografia.
The museum will present the exhibition Une histoire d'images, the first assessment of the photographic collection assembled over the last four years thanks to regular donations by Antoine de Galbert and his foundation. The collection offers an impressive panorama of our times and the decisive role played by photography in shaping our perceptions and contemporary mythologies.
Since 2020, Antoine de Galbert has been committed to enriching the museum's photography collections through regular donations, either directly or through his foundation. The images donated are chosen in close collaboration with the museum and its director Guy Tosatto, while allowing the collector's vision and sensitivity to express themselves fully. This donation constitutes a "fonds de photographies Antoine de Galbert" within the collections, complementing the existing collection.
Like the Antoine de Galbert collection, whose Souvenirs de voyage exhibition the museum presented in 2019, these choices are not dictated by a strictly historical approach or by thematic or aesthetic criteria, but rather by encounters with works that sketch out a vision of a state of the world, without Manichaeism or preconceptions.
The images in this collection are non-exhaustive references to key events in history, but also to a number of personalities, emblematic figures of oppression or liberation. The faces and bodies of anonymous men and women are revealed through the lens of photographers, often poignantly, even tragically, revealing the destiny of a humanity grappling with the advance of a History that overtakes and often crushes it...
Through 270 works, sometimes composed of a large number of images, by 95 well-known or anonymous photographers, from Dorothea Lange to Wiktoria Wojciechowska, from Paul Strand to David Goldblatt, from Luc Delahaye to Gilles Raynaldy, this exhibition presents an initial assessment of this exceptional patronage. It provides both an objective and subjective portrait of our times, as well as an original illustration of a certain vision of photography.
