Toxic Conflicts

Die Ausstellung "Toxic Conflicts" des österreichischen Künstlers Rainer Ganahl basiert auf einer Reihe von Videoanimationen aus dem Jahr 2022, die die aktuelle Krise auf verschiedenen Ebenen thematisieren: Krieg in der Ukraine, globale Erwärmung, Terrorismus, Gewalt, Migration und Macht.
Rainer Ganahl recycelt Pressemitteilungen von großen Nachrichtenseiten wie der New York Times, CNN und der BBC und erstellt kurze animierte Videos, die uns mit aktuellen Nachrichten konfrontieren und gleichzeitig unseren eigenen Umgang mit diesen Konflikten hinterfragen.
Ganahl besuchte die Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien bei Peter Weibel und die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf bei Nam June Paik. In den Jahren 1990/91 nahm er am Independent Study Program des Whitney Museum of American Art teil.
Rainer Ganahl hat 1999 und 2007 im österreichischen Pavillon auf der Biennale von Venedig ausgestellt. Einige seiner Werke befinden sich in der ständigen Sammlung des Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA) sowie in anderen wichtigen Museen und Galerien auf der ganzen Welt.
Die Installation wurde von Enrique Muñoz García kuratiert.
L'exposition "Toxic Conflicts" de l'artiste autrichien Rainer Ganahl se base sur une série d'animations vidéo réalisées en 2022, qui abordent la crise actuelle à différents niveaux : Guerre en Ukraine, réchauffement climatique, terrorisme, violence, migration et pouvoir.
Rainer Ganahl recycle des communiqués de presse de grands sites d'information tels que le New York Times, CNN et la BBC et crée de courtes vidéos animées qui nous confrontent à l'actualité tout en remettant en question notre propre approche de ces conflits.
Ganahl a suivi les cours de Peter Weibel à l'Université des arts appliqués de Vienne et ceux de Nam June Paik à l'Académie des arts de Düsseldorf. En 1990/91, il a participé à l'Independent Study Program du Whitney Museum of American Art.
Rainer Ganahl a exposé dans le pavillon autrichien de la Biennale de Venise en 1999 et 2007. Certaines de ses œuvres font partie de la collection permanente du Museum of Modern Art de New York (MOMA) ainsi que d'autres musées et galeries importants dans le monde entier.
L'installation a été organisée par Enrique Muñoz García.

Rainer Ganahl ricicla i comunicati stampa dei principali siti di informazione come il New York Times, la CNN e la BBC e crea brevi video animati che ci mettono a confronto con le notizie attuali e al contempo interrogano la nostra stessa gestione di questi conflitti.
Ganahl ha frequentato l'Università di Arti Applicate di Vienna con Peter Weibel e l'Accademia d'Arte di Düsseldorf con Nam June Paik. Nel 1990-91 ha partecipato all'Independent Study Program del Whitney Museum of American Art.
Rainer Ganahl ha esposto nel Padiglione Austriaco della Biennale di Venezia nel 1999 e nel 2007. Alcune delle sue opere sono presenti nella collezione permanente del Museum of Modern Art di New York (MOMA) e in altri importanti musei e gallerie di tutto il mondo.

The exhibition "Toxic Conflicts" by Austrian artist Rainer Ganahl is based on a series of video animations from 2022 that address the current crisis on different levels: War in Ukraine, global warming, terrorism, violence, migration and power.
Rainer Ganahl recycles press releases from major news sites such as the New York Times, CNN, and the BBC to create short animated videos that confront us with current news while questioning our own handling of these conflicts.
