Einführung durch Helmut Scheben, Berggänger, Autor und langjähriger Tagesschau Journalist

Anlässlich des Erscheinens seines Buches "Alpen-Blicke.ch" im Verlag Scheidegger & Spiess wurde der Fotograf Hans Peter Jost im SAC Magazin nicht als typischer Alpenfotograf charakterisiert, vielmehr als Porträtist des Berggebiets mit einem Nebeneinander von Kraftort und Kraftwerk, das den Blick auf die Alpen von Bild zu Bild bricht.

Der Fotograf reagiert damit auf die Vielschichtigkeit des Alpenraums, denn der ursprüngliche Respekt oder gar die Angst vor den Bergen und deren Naturgewalt ist im Laufe der Zeiten einer romantischen Verklärung gewichen. Die Alpen sind zu einem Ort mutiert, wo sich subjektive Sehnsüchte verwirklichen lassen - nach Kontemplation, nach Höchstleistung, nach Profit.

Hans Peter Josts visuelle Auseinandersetzung mit dem Alpenraum ist konsequent, mit seiner aktuellen Arbeit bringt er polarisierende Themenfelder auch technisch auf einen neuen Höhepunkt: Einerseits mit der Camera obscura, deren Ergebnisse Zeitgrenzen zu verwischen scheinen mit vermeintlich unberührter Natur, menschenleeren Idyllen und ohne die typisch alpine Infrastruktur. Andererseits mit Bildern des Massentourismus inmitten komfortabel möblierter Hochgebirgslandschaften, gnadenlos digital, ironisch, liebevoll…

Mit der Ausstellung "Sehnsucht Alpen" nimmt der Fotograf Hans Peter Jost die Betrachtenden erneut mit auf seinen persönlichen Weg durch die Berge.

A l'occasion de la parution de son livre "Alpen-Blicke.ch" aux éditions Scheidegger & Spiess, le photographe Hans Peter Jost a été caractérisé dans le CAS Magazine non pas comme un photographe typique des Alpes, mais plutôt comme un portraitiste de la région de montagne, avec une juxtaposition de lieux de force et de centrales électriques, qui brise le regard sur les Alpes d'un visuel à l'autre.

Le photographe réagit ainsi à la complexité de l'espace alpin, car le respect originel, voire la peur des montagnes et de leur force naturelle, a fait place au fil du temps à une transfiguration romantique. Les Alpes sont devenues un lieu où l'on peut réaliser des désirs subjectifs - de contemplation, de performance maximale, de profit.

La confrontation visuelle de Hans Peter Jost avec l'espace alpin est conséquente. Avec son travail actuel, il porte des champs thématiques polarisants à un nouveau sommet, y compris sur le plan technique : d'une part avec la camera obscura, dont les résultats semblent effacer les limites temporelles avec une nature prétendument intacte, des idylles désertes et sans l'infrastructure typiquement alpine. D'autre part, avec des visuels du tourisme de masse au milieu de paysages de haute montagne confortablement meublés, impitoyablement numériques, ironiques, affectueux...

Avec l'exposition "Sehnsucht Alpen", le photographe Hans Peter Jost emmène à nouveau les spectateurs sur son chemin personnel à travers les montagnes.

In occasione della pubblicazione del suo libro "Alpen-Blicke.ch" da parte di Scheidegger & Spiess, il fotografo Hans Peter Jost non è stato caratterizzato dalla rivista SAC come un tipico fotografo alpino, ma piuttosto come un ritrattista della regione montana con una giustapposizione di luoghi e centrali elettriche che spezza la visione delle Alpi di immagine in immagine.

Il fotografo reagisce così alla complessità della regione alpina, perché l'originario rispetto o addirittura la paura delle montagne e della loro forza naturale hanno lasciato il posto a una romantica romantizzazione nel corso del tempo. Le Alpi si sono trasformate in un luogo in cui si possono realizzare desideri soggettivi - per la contemplazione, per le massime prestazioni, per il profitto.

L'esplorazione visiva della regione alpina da parte di Hans Peter Jost è coerente e con il suo lavoro attuale porta temi polarizzanti a un nuovo culmine tecnico: da un lato con la camera oscura, i cui risultati sembrano confondere i confini del tempo con una natura presumibilmente incontaminata, idilli deserti e senza le tipiche infrastrutture alpine. Dall'altro, con le immagini del turismo di massa in mezzo a paesaggi di alta montagna confortevolmente arredati, spietatamente digitali, ironiche, affettuose...

Con la mostra "Sehnsucht Alpen", il fotografo Hans Peter Jost accompagna ancora una volta gli spettatori nel suo personale viaggio tra le montagne.

On the occasion of the publication of his book "Alpen-Blicke.ch" by Scheidegger & Spiess, the photographer Hans Peter Jost was not characterized in the SAC Magazine as a typical Alpine photographer, but rather as a portraitist of the mountain region with a juxtaposition of power place and power plant that breaks the view of the Alps from picture to picture.

The photographer thus reacts to the complexity of the Alpine region, because the original respect or even fear of the mountains and their natural power has given way to a romantic transfiguration over the course of time. The Alps have mutated into a place where subjective longings can be realized - for contemplation, for peak performance, for profit.

Hans Peter Jost's visual exploration of the Alpine region is consistent, and with his current work he takes polarizing themes to a new technical climax: on the one hand with the camera obscura, the results of which seem to blur the boundaries of time with supposedly untouched nature, deserted idylls and without the typical Alpine infrastructure. On the other hand, with visuals of mass tourism in the midst of comfortably furnished high mountain landscapes, mercilessly digital, ironic, loving...

With the exhibition "Sehnsucht Alpen", photographer Hans Peter Jost once again takes viewers up on his personal journey through the mountains.
