Die großformatigen Fotografien von Marina Gardonneix zeigen Naturphänomene wie Lawinen, Blitze, Meteoriten und Polarlichter als Simulationen. In ihrer über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg in Versuchslaboren fotografierten Serie Phänomene verschmelzen die Tradition und die Ästhetik der Landschaftsfotografie mit dem wissenschaftlichen Dokument.
Obwohl alle Bilder in speziell für wissenschaftliche Experimente konzipierten Räumen entstanden sind, ist es die reale Welt, für die sich Marina Gadonneix interessiert.
Die Labore, in denen sie arbeitet, sind Orte der Darstellung, Modellierung und Abstrahierung physikalischer Vorgänge; hochgradig kontrollierte Umgebungen sowie Geräte und Konstruktionen, die Naturereignisse erzeugen und skalieren. Auf diese konzentriert sich Marina Gadonneix in ihrer Erforschung des Wunders dieser Phänomene.
Es scheint angemessen, dass Marina Gadonneix die Fotografie, ein Medium an der Schnittstelle zwischen Realität und Fiktion, nutzt, um sich mit dem Paradoxon der Darstellung der Realität auseinanderzusetzen; der gleichzeitigen Messung und Kontrolle dessen, was wir in der realen Welt sehen.

Dans sa série Phénomènes, photographiée sur une longue période dans des laboratoires expérimentaux, la tradition et l'esthétique de la photographie de paysage fusionnent avec le document scientifique.
Bien que toutes les images aient été prises dans des espaces spécialement conçus pour des expériences scientifiques, c'est au monde réel que Marina Gadonneix s'intéresse.

Il semble approprié que Marina Gadonneix utilise la photographie, un médium à la croisée de la réalité et de la fiction, pour aborder le paradoxe de la représentation de la réalité ; la mesure et le contrôle simultanés de ce que nous voyons dans le monde réel.

Marina Gardonneix's large-format photographs show natural phenomena such as avalanches, lightning, meteorites, and auroras as simulations. In her Phenomena series, photographed over a long period of time in experimental laboratories, the tradition and aesthetics of landscape photography merge with the scientific document.
Although all the images were taken in spaces specifically designed for scientific experiments, it is the real world that Marina Gadonneix is interested in.
The laboratories in which she works are places of representation, modeling, and abstraction of physical processes; highly controlled environments and devices and constructions that create and scale natural events. These are what Marina Gadonneix focuses on in her exploration of the wonder of these phenomena.
It seems appropriate that Marina Gadonneix uses photography, a medium at the intersection of reality and fiction, to address the paradox of representing reality; the simultaneous measurement and control of what we see in the real world.
