August Kotzsch (1836–1910) gehört zu den frühen Meistern der deutschen Photographie, und bietet ein historisches Pendant zu Simone Nieweg. Er nimmt uns mit auf einen Streifzug durch die Natur seiner Heimatregion Loschwitz bei Dresden. Landschaftsausschnitte, Gartenwinkel, Stillleben, die Früchte der eigenen Ernte, aber auch Häuser und Höfe wurden zu seinen Motiven. Kleinode, die mit viel Liebe zum Detail ein realistisches wie romantisches Bild seiner Umgebung zeichnen. Zur Herstellung seiner Photographien bediente sich der Autodidakt und Winzerssohn Kotzsch eines komplizierten Verfahrens. Seine Negative fertigte er im Kollodium-Nassplattenverfahren an, seine Abzüge auf Albuminpapier. Insofern zeichnen sich seine Ansichten durch reizvoll changierende Sepiatöne aus.
Die Leihgaben stammen aus dem Familienarchiv August Kotzsch in Zusammenarbeit mit KICKEN BERLIN. Hinzu kommen Exponate aus der hauseigenen Sammlung.
August Kotzsch (1836-1910) fait partie des premiers maîtres de la photographie allemande, et offre un pendant historique à Simone Nieweg. Il nous emmène en balade à travers la nature de sa région natale, Loschwitz, près de Dresde. Des extraits de paysages, des coins de jardins, des natures mortes, les fruits de sa propre récolte, mais aussi des maisons et des fermes sont devenus ses motifs. Des petits bijoux qui, avec un grand amour du détail, dessinent un visuel à la fois réaliste et romantique de son environnement. Pour réaliser ses photographies, Kotzsch, autodidacte et fils de vigneron, utilisait un procédé compliqué. Il réalisait ses négatifs sur plaque humide au collodion et ses tirages sur papier albuminé. Ses vues se distinguent donc par des tons sépia changeants et charmants.

August Kotzsch (1836-1910) è uno dei primi maestri della fotografia tedesca e offre una controparte storica a Simone Nieweg. Ci accompagna in un'incursione nella natura della sua regione natale, Loschwitz, vicino a Dresda. Dettagli del paesaggio, angoli di giardino, nature morte, i frutti del suo raccolto, ma anche case e fattorie diventano i suoi motivi. Con grande attenzione ai dettagli, dipingono un quadro realistico e romantico dell'ambiente circostante. Kotzsch, fotografo autodidatta e figlio di un viticoltore, utilizzava un processo complicato per produrre le sue fotografie. Produceva i negativi con il procedimento della lastra umida al collodio e le stampe su carta all'albumina. In questo senso, le sue vedute sono caratterizzate da toni seppia deliziosamente cangianti.

August Kotzsch (1836-1910) is one of the early masters of German photography, and offers a historical counterpart to Simone Nieweg. He takes us up on a ramble through the nature of his home region Loschwitz near Dresden. Landscape details, garden corners, still lifes, the fruits of his own harvest, but also houses and farms became his motifs. Little gems, which with great attention to detail draw a realistic as well as romantic visual of his surroundings. Kotzsch, a self-taught photographer and son of a winegrower, used a complicated process to produce his photographs. He made his negatives using the collodion wet plate process, and his prints on albumen paper. In this respect, his views are characterized by delightfully iridescent sepia tones.
The loans come from the August Kotzsch family archive in cooperation with KICKEN BERLIN, along with exhibits from the museum's own collection.
