Die Ägypten-Porträts des vielfach ausgezeichneten französischen Fotografen Denis Dailleux zeichnen sich durch eine einzigartige Hingabe und Empathie aus. Dailleux nähert sich den Menschen und Orten, die er fotografiert, mit großer Diskretion, in der Hoffnung, dass sie sich ihm öffnen mögen, ohne es von ihnen zu erwarten. Das Ergebnis sind malerische, manchmal fast biblisch anmutende Fotografien, die Ort und Zeit transzendieren.

Denis Dailleux wurde 1958 im französischen Angers geboren. Er hat mehrere Bücher über Ägypten (insbesondere Kairo), seine Eindrücke vom „Arabischen Frühling“ und über Ghana veröffentlicht. Dailleux hat zahlreiche internationale Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter den Monographies Award 1997, den World Press Photo Award in der Kategorie Porträt 2000, den Prix Hasselblad 2000, den Fujifilm Award 2001, den World Press Photo Award 2014 sowie den Prix Roger Pic 2019. Er ist Mitglied der Agence VU und lebt derzeit in Paris.
Seine Arbeiten sind in zahlreichen institutionellen und privaten Sammlungen vertreten, u.a. in der Collection privée Agnès B., beim Fond National dʼArt Contemporain, in der Maison Européenne de la Photographie und der Collection Neuflize Vie.
Les portraits égyptiens du photographe français Denis Dailleux, maintes fois primé, se distinguent par un dévouement et une empathie unique. Dailleux s'approche des personnes et des lieux qu'il photographie avec une grande discrétion, dans l'espoir qu'ils s'ouvrent à lui sans l'attendre d'eux. Il en résulte des photographies pittoresques, parfois presque bibliques, qui transcendent le lieu et le temps.

Denis Dailleux est né en 1958 à Angers, en France. Il a publié plusieurs livres sur l'Egypte (en particulier sur Le Caire), sur ses impressions du "printemps arabe" et sur le Ghana. Dailleux a reçu de nombreux prix internationaux, dont le Monographies Award 1997, le World Press Photo Award dans la catégorie Portrait 2000, le Prix Hasselblad 2000, le Fujifilm Award 2001, le World Press Photo Award 2014 et le Prix Roger Pic 2019. Il est membre de l'Agence VU et vit actuellement à Paris.
Son travail est présent dans de nombreuses collections institutionnelles et privées, notamment à la Collection privée Agnès B., au Fond National dʼArt Contemporain, à la Maison Européenne de la Photographie et à la Collection Neuflize Vie.

The portraits of Egypt by acclaimed French photographer Denis Dailleux are characterised by a unique dedication and empathy. He is a member of the Agence VU and currently lives in Paris.
His work is part of numerous institutional and private collections, including the Agnès B. private collection, the Fond National d'Art Contemporain, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and the Neuflize Vie collection.
