Alessandra Sanguinetti (geb. 1968) wuchs in Argentinien auf und ging dort zur Schule. Im Jahr 1999 wird sie auf zwei ungewöhnliche Kinder aufmerksam: Guillermina Aranciaga und Belinda Stutz. Diese beiden Frauen, deren Schicksal sie seitdem verfolgt, werden zu Ikonen in den Zentren ihres Lebens und ihrer Werke. Mit der argentinischen Landschaft als Hintergrund, in einer vorwiegend männlichen Welt aus Gauchos und Bauern, durchlaufen die von ihr geschaffenen dokumentarischen Gemälde die Stadien des Lebens und hinterfragen die Unumkehrbarkeit der Zeit.
Mit der Hilfe dieser beiden Cousinen und unter Einsatz von Requisiten und Inszenierung lässt Alessandra Sanguinetti ihre Fotografien und Modelle in einem ausgesprochen fantasmagorischen Ensemble miteinander in Dialog treten. Wie Morpheus, der mit einer Hand einen Spiegel hält und mit der anderen die Macht der Träume anbietet, entführt sie uns paradoxerweise in die Illusion der Träume und in die Darstellung der eigentlichen Realität dieser Seelen, die am Anfang nur Punkte am Horizont waren.
Mit der Ausarbeitung dieser traumhaften und psychoanalytischen Bilder gibt Alessandra Sanguinetti eine sensible Antwort auf die immerwährende Frage nach der Beziehung der Künstler zu ihren Subjekten. Innerhalb und außerhalb dieser Serie bilden diese drei Frauen, Guillermina, Belinda und Alessandra, letztlich eine andere Familie.
The Adventures of Guille and Belinda verdient eine ständige Aktualisierung. Diese Serie, die 2006 bei den Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles und 2011 im BAL in Paris ausgestellt wurde, wird vom 30. Januar bis 19. Mai 2024 in der Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in einer erweiterten und aktualisierten Zusammenstellung von 52 Fotografien und 3 Filmen gezeigt. Dieses Projekt ist reich an dem, was es ist und dem, was es sein wird: gestern, heute und morgen.

Alessandra Sanguinetti (née en 1968) grandit et fait ses études en Argentine. En 1999, elle remarque deux enfants singulières, Guillermina Aranciaga et Belinda Stutz. Ces deux femmes, dont elle suit le destin depuis, s’érigent en icônes aux centres de sa vie et de son oeuvre. Avec la campagne argentine en toile de fond, dans un univers essentiellement masculin fait de gauchos et de fermiers, les tableaux documentaires qu’elle crée traversent les stades de la vie et interrogent l’irréversibilité du temps.
Avec l’aide de ces deux cousines et en ayant recours à la mise en scène et à des accessoires, Alessandra Sanguinetti fait dialoguer ses photographies et ses modèles dans un ensemble résolument fantasmagorique. Telle Morphée tenant un miroir d’une main et offrant le pouvoir des rêves de l’autre, elle nous transporte paradoxalement dans l’illusion des rêves et dans la représentation de la réalité propre de ces âmes qui n’étaient, au commencement, que des points dans l’horizon.
Avec l’élaboration de ces tableaux oniriques et psychanalytiques, Alessandra Sanguinetti apporte une réponse sensible au questionnement perpétuel de la relation des artistes à leurs sujets. Au sein et en dehors de cette série, ces trois femmes, Guillermina, Belinda et Alessandra, forment en définitive une autre famille.
The Adventures of Guille and Belinda mérite une mise à jour constante. Cette série exposée aux Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles en 2006, puis au BAL à Paris en 2011, est présentée du 30 janvier au 19 mai 2024 à la Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, dans un ensemble augmenté et actualisé de 52 photographies et de 3 films. Ce projet est riche de ce qu’il est et de ce qu’il sera : hier, aujourd’hui et demain.

Alessandra Sanguinetti (nata nel 1968) è cresciuta e ha studiato in Argentina. Nel 1999 si accorge di due figli singolari, Guillermina Aranciaga e Belinda Stutz. Queste due donne, di cui ha seguito il destino da allora, sono diventate icone al centro della sua vita e del suo lavoro. Sullo sfondo della campagna argentina, in un mondo essenzialmente maschile di gauchos e contadini, le immagini documentarie che crea attraversano le fasi della vita e si interrogano sull'irreversibilità del tempo.
Con l'aiuto dei suoi due cugini e l'uso di allestimenti e oggetti di scena, Alessandra Sanguinetti crea un dialogo tra le sue fotografie e i suoi modelli in un insieme decisamente fantasmagorico. Come Morfeo che tiene uno specchio in una mano e offre il potere dei sogni nell'altra, ci trasporta paradossalmente nell'illusione dei sogni e nella rappresentazione della realtà di queste anime che, all'inizio, non erano altro che punti all'orizzonte.
Creando questi dipinti onirici e psicoanalitici, Alessandra Sanguinetti fornisce una risposta sensibile al continuo interrogarsi sul rapporto tra gli artisti e i loro soggetti. All'interno e all'esterno di questa serie, queste tre donne - Guillermina, Belinda e Alessandra - formano in definitiva un'altra famiglia.
Le avventure di Guille e Belinda meritano un aggiornamento costante. Questa serie, esposta ai Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles nel 2006 e poi al BAL di Parigi nel 2011, sarà presentata dal 30 gennaio al 19 maggio 2024 alla Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, in un insieme ampliato e aggiornato di 52 fotografie e 3 film. Questo progetto è ricco di ciò che è e di ciò che sarà: ieri, oggi e domani.

Alessandra Sanguinetti (b. 1968) grew up and studied in Argentina. In 1999, she noticed two singular children, Guillermina Aranciaga and Belinda Stutz. These two women, whose destinies she has followed ever since, have become icons at the center of her life and work. Set against the backdrop of the Argentine countryside, in an essentially male-dominated world of gauchos and farmers, the documentary pictures she creates traverse the stages of life and question the irreversibility of time.
With the help of her two cousins and the use of staging and props, Alessandra Sanguinetti creates a dialogue between her photographs and her models in a resolutely phantasmagorical whole. Like Morpheus holding a mirror in one hand and offering the power of dreams in the other, she paradoxically transports us into the illusion of dreams and the representation of the very reality of these souls who were, in the beginning, no more than points on the horizon.
In creating these dreamlike, psychoanalytical paintings, Alessandra Sanguinetti provides a sensitive response to the perpetual questioning of the relationship between artists and their subjects. Within and outside this series, these three women - Guillermina, Belinda and Alessandra - ultimately form another family.
The Adventures of Guille and Belinda deserves constant updating. This series, exhibited at the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles in 2006, then at the BAL in Paris in 2011, is presented from January 30 to May 19, 2024 at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, in an expanded and updated set of 52 photographs and 3 films. This project is rich in what it is and what it will be: yesterday, today and tomorrow.
