Spähen, beobachten, heranzoomen – in hell erleuchtete Fenster, dunkle Gassen oder schummrige Bars. Paco Carrascosas jüngstes Werk erkundet die Nacht. Wie ein Ausserirdischer erkundet er, welch orgiastisches Schauspiel ihm die Dunkelheit bietet: eine Eruption der Farben, Lichter, Formen, Spiegelungen und Durchblicke. Menschen starren in Bildschirme, sitzen an Tischen oder warten an Bahnhöfen – allein, exponiert, selbstvergessen. Schon der Werktitel verheisst es: Wenn sich der Whiskeybrenner und der Traumdeuter des Nachts verbünden, fallen sämtliche Masken und die Welt präsentiert sich nackt. Die 2640 Bilder machen uns zu Mitwissern: Wir haben für einen kurzen Augenblick teil am Leben anderer Menschen, ermächtigt durch das allsehende Auge des Teleobjektivs. Im Vergleich zu den Massen interessengeleiteter Bilder, die verkaufen und verschönern, zeigen Paco Carrascosas Fotografien das Wahre, Rohe. Voll funkelnder Poesie, findet seine monumentale Trilogie hier ihre schaurig-schöne Klimax.
Espionner, observer, zoomer - sur des fenêtres brillamment éclairées, des ruelles sombres ou des bars à l'ambiance tamisée. La dernière œuvre de Paco Carrascosa explore la nuit. Tel un extraterrestre, il explore le spectacle orgiaque que lui offre l'obscurité : une éruption de couleurs, de lumières, de formes, de reflets et de transparences. Des personnes fixent des écrans, sont assises à des tables ou attendent dans des gares - seules, exposées, oubliant leur propre existence. Le titre de l'œuvre en est déjà la promesse : Lorsque le distillateur de whisky et l'interprète de rêves s'allient la nuit, tous les masques tombent et le monde se présente à nu. Les 2640 images nous rendent complices : Nous participons pour un bref instant à la vie d'autres personnes, autorisés par l'œil omniprésent du téléobjectif. En comparaison avec les masses d'images guidées par l'intérêt, qui vendent et embellissent, les photographies de Paco Carrascosa montrent le vrai, le brut. Pleine de poésie étincelante, sa trilogie monumentale trouve ici son climax d'une beauté effrayante.
Scrutare, osservare, ingrandire: finestre illuminate, vicoli bui o bar poco illuminati. L'ultima opera di Paco Carrascosa esplora la notte. Come un alieno, esplora lo spettacolo orgiastico che l'oscurità gli offre: un'eruzione di colori, luci, forme, riflessi e panorami. Le persone fissano gli schermi, siedono ai tavoli o aspettano alle postazioni - sole, esposte, ignare. Anche il titolo dell'opera lo promette: Quando il distillatore di whisky e l'interprete dei sogni uniscono le forze di notte, tutte le maschere cadono e il mondo si presenta nudo. Le 2640 immagini ci trasformano in confidenti: Condividiamo le vite degli altri per un breve momento, grazie all'occhio onniveggente del teleobiettivo. Rispetto alla massa di immagini guidate da interessi che vendono e abbelliscono, le fotografie di Paco Carrascosa mostrano il reale, il crudo. Piena di poesia, la sua monumentale trilogia raggiunge qui il suo culmine di inquietante bellezza.
Peering, observing, zooming in - into brightly lit windows, dark alleys or dim bars. Paco Carrascosa's latest work explores the night. Like an alien, he explores what an orgiastic spectacle the darkness offers him: an eruption of colors, lights, shapes, reflections and vistas. People stare into screens, sit at tables or wait at train stations - alone, exposed, oblivious. The title of the work already promises it: When the whiskey distiller and the dream interpreter join forces at night, all masks fall and the world presents itself naked. The 2640 images turn us into confidants: We share for a brief moment in the lives of other people, empowered by the all-seeing eye of the telephoto lens. Compared to the masses of interest-driven images that sell and beautify, Paco Carrascosa's photographs show the real, the raw. Full of sparkling poetry, his monumental trilogy finds its eerily beautiful climax here.
