Die Gruppenausstellung IRAN inside out zeigt zeitgenössische Fotografien deutscher und iranischer Fotografinnen, die sich mit Fragen der Selbstbestimmung im Spannungsfeld zwischen Tradition und Moderne auseinander-setzen. Alle fünf beteiligten Künstlerinnen leben im Iran, stammen aus dem Iran oder haben längere Zeit im Iran gearbeitet. Egal ob vor Ort oder aus der (sicheren) Distanz: eigene Erfahrungen, Historie, Familiengeschichten und die Situation anderer Frauen im Land sind Ausgangspunkt für ihre fotografischen und Video-Arbeiten.
Die Serien sind seit 2010 entstanden und thematisieren die gesellschaftliche Situation im Land. Die Künstlerinnen verorten sich in dieser Gesellschaft und ihre Positionen thematisieren die Auseinandersetzung mit Tradition im Konflikt mit der Moderne. Dabei hat jede Fotografin ihren individuellen künstlerischen Ansatz gewählt, um ihre eigenen Erfahrungen und Momentaufnahmen festzuhalten. Diesen Blick auf die Situation im Iran sowohl von innen heraus als auch aus der Ferne greift der Titel IRAN inside out auf und blickt auf die Umbrüche und Entwicklungen im Land.

L'exposition de groupe IRAN inside out présente des photographies contemporaines de femmes photographes allemandes et iraniennes qui se penchent sur les questions d'autodétermination entre tradition et modernité. Les cinq artistes participantes vivent en Iran, sont originaires d'Iran ou ont travaillé pendant une longue période en Iran. Que ce soit sur place ou à distance (sûre), leurs propres expériences, l'histoire, les histoires familiales et la situation d'autres femmes dans le pays sont le point de départ de leurs travaux photographiques et vidéo.
Les séries ont été créées depuis 2010 et traitent de la situation sociale dans le pays. Les artistes se situent dans cette société et leurs positions thématisent la confrontation avec la tradition en conflit avec la modernité. Chaque photographe a choisi sa propre approche artistique afin d'immortaliser ses propres expériences et instantanés. Le titre IRAN inside out reprend ce regard sur la situation en Iran, tant de l'intérieur que de loin, et jette un coup d'œil sur les bouleversements et les évolutions du pays.

La mostra collettiva IRAN inside out presenta fotografie contemporanee di fotografe tedesche e iraniane che affrontano questioni di autodeterminazione nel campo della tensione tra tradizione e modernità. Tutte e cinque le artiste partecipanti vivono in Iran, provengono dall'Iran o hanno lavorato in Iran per molto tempo. Sul posto o a distanza (di sicurezza): le loro esperienze, la storia, le storie di famiglia e la situazione di altre donne nel Paese sono il punto di partenza per le loro opere fotografiche e video.
Le serie sono state create a partire dal 2010 e affrontano la situazione sociale del Paese. Le artiste si collocano in questa società e le loro posizioni tematizzano il confronto con la tradizione in conflitto con la modernità. Ogni fotografa ha scelto il proprio approccio artistico per catturare le proprie esperienze e le proprie istantanee. Il titolo IRAN inside out riprende questa visione della situazione in Iran, sia dall'interno che da lontano, e guarda agli sconvolgimenti e agli sviluppi del Paese.

The group exhibition IRAN inside out shows contemporary photographs by German and Iranian women photographers who deal with questions of self-determination in the field of tension between tradition and modernity. All five participating artists live in Iran, come from Iran or have worked in Iran for a longer period of time. Whether on site or from a (safe) distance: their own experiences, history, family stories and the situation of other women in the country are the starting point for their photographic and video works.
The series have been created since 2010 and address the social situation in the country. The artists situate themselves in this society and their positions address the confrontation with tradition in conflict with modernity. Each photographer has chosen her individual artistic approach to capture her own experiences and snapshots. Taking up this view of the situation in Iran both from within and from afar, the title IRAN inside out looks at the upheavals and developments in the country.
