Inge Morath ist mit ihren beeindruckenden Schwarzweiß-Portraits und -Reportagen berühmt geworden. Zu ihrem 100. Geburtstag wird der FOTOHOF erstmals eine große Auswahl ihrer Farbarbeiten zeigen. Wie viele ihrer Kolleg:innen hat sie Zeit ihres Lebens auch Farbfotos auf Dia-Film gemacht. Dies in erster Linie zum Druck in Illustrierten, aber auch immer wieder einzelne Bilder in ihren Bildbänden verwendet. Sie selbst hat gesagt dass sie dort Farbe fotografiert, wo sie Farbe sieht.
Lange Zeit war es nahezu unmöglich qualitativ hochwertige Ausstellungsbilder vom Kleinbild-Dia herzustellen. Erst seit der Möglichkeit der Digitalisierung und des Ausdruckes auf hochwertigem Papier wird eine Qualität erreicht, die auch an den Galeriewänden ihre Berechtigung hat. Darüber hinaus sind diese ein wertvoller Beitrag zur Fotogeschichte, der bislang aus verschiedenen Gründen wenig beachtet wurde.
Diese Ausstellung wurde von John P. Jacob erstmals in New York zusammengestellt und eine Auswahl daraus im FOTOHOF gezeigt. John P. Jacob wird zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung im FOTOHOF anreisen und anschließend im Museum der Moderne in Salzburg, wo bis zum 4.6. die Ausstellung Inge Morath & Saul Steinberg / Maske und Gesicht zu sehen ist, einen Vortrag halten.
Die Ausstellung wird einen großen Querschnitt der Farbarbeiten Inge Moraths im Hauptraum zeigen. Im Studio wird das FOTOHOF archiv einen Überblick über Illustrierte und Bücher aus den 1950er Jahren zeigen, die einen Einblick in die Welt der Farbbilder dieser Zeit geben; und außerdem noch eine Auswahl biografischer Dokumente und Bilder von Inge Morath.
Inge Morath est devenue célèbre grâce à ses impressionnants portraits et reportages en noir et blanc. À l'occasion de son 100e anniversaire, FOTOHOF présentera pour la première fois une grande sélection de ses travaux en couleur. Comme beaucoup de ses collègues, elle a également réalisé des photos couleur sur film diapositive tout au long de sa vie. En premier lieu pour l'impression dans des illustrés, mais aussi régulièrement pour des visuels isolés dans ses livres d'images. Elle disait elle-même qu'elle photographiait en couleur là où elle voyait de la couleur.
Pendant longtemps, il était pratiquement impossible de produire des photos d'exposition de qualité à partir de diapositives 35 mm. Ce n'est que depuis la possibilité de numériser et d'imprimer sur du papier de haute qualité que l'on obtient une qualité qui se justifie également sur les murs de la galerie. En outre, elles constituent une contribution précieuse à l'histoire de la photographie, qui n'a pas été très remarquée jusqu'à présent pour diverses raisons.
Cette exposition a été réunie pour la première fois par John P. Jacob à New York et une sélection en a été présentée au FOTOHOF. John P. Jacob fera le déplacement pour le vernissage de l'exposition au FOTOHOF et donnera ensuite une conférence au Museum der Moderne de Salzbourg, où l'exposition Inge Morath & Saul Steinberg / Maske und Gesicht est présentée jusqu'au 4.6.
L'exposition présentera un large échantillon des travaux en couleur d'Inge Morath dans la salle principale. Dans le studio, les archives FOTOHOF présenteront un aperçu des illustrations et des livres des années 1950, qui donnent un aperçu du monde des images en couleur de cette époque ; ainsi qu'une sélection de documents biographiques et de visuels d'Inge Morath.
Inge Morath è diventata famosa grazie ai suoi impressionanti ritratti e reportage in bianco e nero. In occasione del suo 100° compleanno, il FOTOHOF esporrà per la prima volta un'ampia selezione delle sue opere a colori. Come molti suoi colleghi, per tutta la vita ha scattato anche foto a colori su pellicola diapositiva. Questo principalmente per la stampa di riviste illustrate, ma ha anche utilizzato più volte singole immagini nei suoi libri illustrati. Lei stessa ha dichiarato di scattare fotografie a colori ovunque veda del colore.
Per molto tempo è stato quasi impossibile produrre immagini da esposizione di alta qualità da diapositive da 35 mm. Solo dopo la possibilità di digitalizzazione e di stampa su carta di alta qualità è stata raggiunta una qualità che si giustifica anche sulle pareti della galleria. Inoltre, esse rappresentano un prezioso contributo alla storia della fotografia che, per varie ragioni, ha ricevuto finora poca attenzione.
Questa mostra è stata allestita per la prima volta da John P. Jacob a New York e una selezione di essa sarà presentata al FOTOHOF. John P. Jacob si recherà all'inaugurazione della mostra al FOTOHOF e poi terrà una conferenza al Museum der Moderne di Salisburgo, dove fino al 4 giugno è in corso la mostra Inge Morath & Saul Steinberg / Mask and Face.
La mostra presenterà un'ampia sezione delle opere a colori di Inge Morath nella sala principale. Nello studio, l'archivio del FOTOHOF presenterà una panoramica di riviste e libri illustrati degli anni Cinquanta, per dare un'idea del mondo delle immagini a colori di quel periodo, e una selezione di documenti biografici e immagini di Inge Morath.
Inge Morath became famous with her impressive black-and-white portraits and reportages. On the occasion of her 100th birthday, the FOTOHOF will show a large selection of her color works for the first time. Like many of her colleagues, she also took color photos on slide film throughout her life. This was primarily for printing in illustrated magazines, but she also repeatedly used individual images in her illustrated books. She herself has said that she photographs color where she sees color.
For a long time it was almost impossible to produce high quality exhibition pictures from 35mm slides. Only since the possibility of digitalization and printing on high quality paper has a quality been achieved that has its place on gallery walls. In addition, these are a valuable contribution to photographic history that has received little attention for a variety of reasons.
