In den letzten zehn Jahren hat Diego Marcon (* 1985) filmische und skulpturale Mittel eingesetzt, um das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Realität und Repräsentation genauer zu betrachten. In seiner ersten Schweizer Ausstellung präsentiert der italienische Künstler eine Auswahl neuer und jüngerer Skulpturen, Videos und Filme, die sich am Genre des Horrorfilms, der Slapstick-Komödie, dem Musical und dem Zeichentrickfilm orientieren. Marcons Protagonisten*innen – wie ein schwärmerisch singender Junge, eine Miniatur-Marschkapelle und ein mörderischer Vater – laden zu Welten ein, die in gleichem Masse berührend, absurd und auch ein wenig unheimlich sind.

Au cours des dix dernières années, Diego Marcon (* 1985) a utilisé des moyens cinématographiques et sculpturaux pour examiner de plus près la tension entre la réalité et la représentation. Pour sa première exposition en Suisse, l'artiste italien présente une sélection de sculptures, de vidéos et de films récents ou non, qui s'inspirent des genres du film d'horreur, de la comédie slapstick, de la comédie musicale et du film d'animation. Les protagonistes* de Marcon - comme un garçon qui chante avec enthousiasme, une fanfare miniature et un père meurtrier - invitent à découvrir des mondes qui sont à la fois touchants, absurdes et un peu inquiétants.
L'exposition est soutenue par la fondation Ernst et Olga Gubler-Hablützel.
Negli ultimi dieci anni, Diego Marcon (* 1985) ha utilizzato mezzi cinematografici e scultorei per osservare da vicino il teso rapporto tra realtà e rappresentazione. Nella sua prima mostra svizzera, l'artista italiano presenta una selezione di sculture, video e film nuovi e recenti che prendono spunto dai generi del cinema horror, della commedia slapstick, del musical e dei film d'animazione. I protagonisti di Marcon - come un bambino che canta estasiato, una banda musicale in miniatura e un padre assassino - ci invitano in mondi toccanti, assurdi e anche un po' spaventosi in egual misura.

Over the last decade, Diego Marcon (*1985) has used cinematic and sculpture means to interrogate the fraught relationship between reality and representation. Tracing inspirations ranging from the cinematic genres of horror to slapstick comedy, the musical to the cartoon, the Italian artist presents a selection of new and recent sculptures, videos, and films for his first exhibition in Switzerland. Marcon’s protagonists—a rapturously singing boy, a miniature marching band, and a murderous father—invite us into worlds that are at once poignant, absurd, and often a little uncanny.
