Der in Villach geborene und im Kärntner Gailtal aufgewachsene Künstler Gerald Domenig lebt und arbeitet seit Mitte der siebziger Jahre in Frankfurt am Main. Er fotografiert die Welt nicht so wie sie ist, sondern wie er sie sich wünscht, irritierend ordentlich. Domenig kommentiert seine fotokünstlerische Praxis und die der anderen in zahlreichen Büchern wie die Die gute Naht, Klagefurt 1995, Nivea und Nivea, Köln 2008, Mittendrin ein Z, Secession Wien 2016 und I call them Squares, Frankfurt 2019.
Die Wiener Künstlerin Andrea Witzmann beschäftigt sich seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren mit Szenarien einer abgenutzten Konsum-Welt. Indem sie ihre Fundstücke im dokumentarischen Stil fotografiert, verleiht sie ihnen durch ihre sachliche (aber auch immer wieder arrangierte) Darstellung nicht nur die nötige Aufmerksamkeit eines möglichen „Tatortes“, sondern erhöht die Gegenstände durch bildnerische Komposition, subjektive Farbigkeit und subtiles Licht zu poetischen Tafelbildern. 2020 erschien im Böhlau Verlag Ihr Buch wien.herzschlag/vienna.heartbeat mit Arbeiten aus der Großstadt und einem eigenen literarischen Text.
L'artiste Gerald Domenig, né à Villach et ayant grandi dans la vallée de la Gail en Carinthie, vit et travaille à Francfort-sur-le-Main depuis le milieu des années 1970. Il ne photographie pas le monde tel qu'il est, mais tel qu'il voudrait qu'il soit, irritant et ordonné. Domenig commente sa pratique photo-artistique et celle des autres dans de nombreux livres comme Die gute Naht, Klagefurt 1995, Nivea et Nivea, Cologne 2008, Mittendrin ein Z, Secession Wien 2016 et I call them Squares, Francfort 2019.
L'artiste viennoise Andrea Witzmann s'intéresse depuis plus de vingt ans aux scénarios d'un monde de consommation usé. En photographiant ses trouvailles dans un style documentaire, elle ne leur confère pas seulement l'attention nécessaire d'une possible "scène de crime" par sa représentation objective (mais aussi toujours arrangée), mais élève les objets au rang de panneaux poétiques par une composition picturale, des couleurs subjectives et une lumière subtile. En 2020, les éditions Böhlau ont publié votre livre wien.herzschlag/vienna.heartbeat avec des travaux réalisés dans la grande ville et un texte littéraire personnel.

Fotografando i suoi oggetti trovati in stile documentaristico, non solo dà loro la necessaria attenzione di una possibile "scena del crimine" attraverso la sua presentazione fattuale (ma anche ripetutamente disposta), ma eleva anche gli oggetti a quadri poetici attraverso la composizione pittorica, la colorazione soggettiva e la luce sottile. Viennese artist Andrea Witzmann has been dealing with scenarios of a worn-out consumer world for more than twenty years. Photographing her found objects in a documentary style, her matter-of-fact (but also repeatedly arranged) presentation not only gives them the necessary attention of a possible "crime scene," but also elevates the objects into poetic panel paintings through pictorial composition, subjective color, and subtle light. In 2020, Böhlau Verlag published her book wien.herzschlag/vienna.heartbeat with works from the big city and her own literary text.
