2024 finden an drei Museen Ausstellungen mit Arbeiten der österreichischen Fotografin Elfriede Mejchar (1924–2020 Wien, AT) statt. Das Museum der Moderne Salzburg ist Teil einer Kooperation mit der Landesgalerie Niederösterreich und dem Wien Museum, die zum 100. Geburtstag der Künstlerin deren Werk an drei verschiedenen Standorten mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten würdigt.
Salzburgs Beitrag zu diesem gemeinschaftlichen Projekt präsentiert die Künstlerin als Porträtistin. Mit ihrer Werkserie „Künstler bei der Arbeit“ (1954–1961) zeigt Mejchar beispielsweise eindrücklich, wie sie sich durch eine genaue Kartierung der Arbeitssituation im Atelier der Künstlerpersönlichkeit von Christa Hauer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Josef Mikl und Arnulf Rainer annähert. Mit der gleichen präzisen Wahrnehmung begegnet sie aber auch den unbelebten Dingen ihrer Umgebung und verleiht Landschaften, Blumen und ausrangiertem Mobiliar die Anmutung von beseelten Porträtaufnahmen.
Der Bestand an Fotografien von Mejchar in den Fotosammlungen am Museum der Moderne Salzburg umfasst insgesamt 665 Werke. Otto Breicha, der erste Direktor der Vorläuferinstitution, war ein langjähriger Wegbegleiter Mejchars, der den künstlerischen Wert ihrer fotografischen Arbeit erkannte und förderte. So gelangte bereits 1982, ein Jahr vor der offiziellen Eröffnung des Rupertinum, ein umfassendes Konvolut in die fotografische Sammlung, das durch weitere Ankäufe und Schenkungen anwuchs und einen Schwerpunkt im Bestand darstellt.

En 2024, trois musées accueilleront des expositions consacrées aux travaux de la photographe autrichienne Elfriede Mejchar (1924-2020 Vienne, AT). Le Musée d'art moderne de Salzbourg fait partie d'une coopération avec la Galerie régionale de Basse-Autriche et le Musée de Vienne qui, à l'occasion du centenaire de la naissance de l'artiste, rend hommage à son œuvre dans trois lieux différents, chacun avec un accent différent.
La contribution de Salzbourg à ce projet commun présente l'artiste en tant que portraitiste. Avec sa série d'œuvres "Artistes au travail" (1954-1961), Mejchar montre par exemple de manière impressionnante comment elle s'approche de la personnalité des artistes Christa Hauer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Josef Mikl et Arnulf Rainer en cartographiant avec précision la situation de travail dans l'atelier. Mais c'est aussi avec la même perception précise qu'elle rencontre les choses inanimées de son environnement et donne aux paysages, aux fleurs et au mobilier mis au rebut l'apparence de portraits animés.
Le fonds de photographies de Mejchar dans les collections de photos du Museum der Moderne Salzburg comprend 665 œuvres au total. Otto Breicha, le premier directeur de l'institution précédente, était un compagnon de longue date de Mejchar, qui a reconnu et encouragé la valeur artistique de son travail photographique. C'est ainsi qu'en 1982 déjà, un an avant l'ouverture officielle du Rupertinum, un vaste ensemble est entré dans la collection photographique, qui s'est agrandie grâce à d'autres achats et donations et constitue un point fort du fonds.

Il Museum der Moderne di Salisburgo fa parte di una collaborazione con la Landesgalerie Niederösterreich e il Wien Museum, che rende omaggio all'opera dell'artista in tre sedi diverse, ciascuna con un focus differente, in occasione del centenario della sua nascita.
Il contributo di Salisburgo a questo progetto comune presenta l'artista come ritrattista. Con la serie di opere "Artisti al lavoro" (1954-1961), ad esempio, Mejchar mostra in modo impressionante come si avvicina alla personalità artistica di Christa Hauer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Josef Mikl e Arnulf Rainer, mappando con precisione la situazione lavorativa nello studio. Con la stessa percezione precisa, tuttavia, incontra anche gli oggetti inanimati del suo ambiente e conferisce a paesaggi, fiori e mobili dismessi l'aspetto di ritratti animati.
La raccolta di fotografie di Mejchar nelle collezioni fotografiche del Museum der Moderne Salzburg comprende un totale di 665 opere. Otto Breicha, il primo direttore dell'istituzione precedente, era un compagno di lunga data di Mejchar, che riconosceva e promuoveva il valore artistico del suo lavoro fotografico. In 2024, three museums will host exhibitions of works by Austrian photographer Elfriede Mejchar (1924-2020 Vienna, AT). The Museum der Moderne Salzburg is part of a cooperation with the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich and the Wien Museum, which is honoring the artist's work at three different locations, each with a different focus, to mark the 100th anniversary of her birth.
Salzburg's contribution to this joint project presents the artist as a portraitist. With her series of works "Artists at Work" (1954-1961), for example, Mejchar impressively shows how she approaches the artistic personality of Christa Hauer, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Josef Mikl and Arnulf Rainer by precisely mapping the working situation in the studio. With the same precise perception, however, she also encounters the inanimate objects in her surroundings and lends landscapes, flowers and discarded furniture the appearance of animated portraits.
The collection of photographs by Mejchar in the photo collections at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg comprises a total of 665 works. Otto Breicha, the first director of the predecessor institution, was a long-time companion of Mejchar, who recognized and promoted the artistic value of her photographic work. As early as 1982, one year before the official opening of the Rupertinum, a comprehensive collection was added to the photographic collection, which grew through further purchases and donations and is a focal point of the holdings.
