Einblicke in Moorlandschaften
»ödes land« reflektiert die menschliche Bindung zu Mooren, insbesondere dem Großen Torfmoor im Kreis Minden-Lübbecke. Mit der Ausstellung der Arbeit von Johannes Hüffmeier widmet sich der Kunstraum Elsa, der von Prof. Katharina Bosse organisiert wird, dem bedeutenden Hochmoor in Nordrhein-Westfalen, das ein einzigartiger Lebensraum für viele bedrohte Tier- und Pflanzenarten ist. Durch menschliche Eingriffe und den anthropogenen Klimawandel hat es dramatische Veränderungen erfahren. Der Fotograf erläutert: »95 Prozent der Moore sind in Deutschland trockengelegt worden. Aus wirtschaftlichen Interessen wurden sie entwässert und ihre Ökosysteme dadurch irreversibel gestört.« Mit seiner Kamera dokumentiert er diese dramatischen Veränderungen und stellt dabei die Frage nach dem Wert und der Aufgabe der Fotografie in der heutigen Welt.

Künstlerische Herangehensweise
Die Arbeit »ödes land« vereint ökologische Erkenntnisse, philosophische Naturästhetik und kunsthistorische Konzepte. Die Serie umfasst weitwinklige Aufnahmen und lange Belichtungszeiten, die die Ästhetik und tiefgreifende Entwicklungen der Moorlandschaften einfangen. Farb- und Schwarzweißbilder, Salzdrucke und handgeschöpftes Papier aus Moorwasser verbinden das Medium der Fotografie mit der Materialität der Moore und schaffen eine sinnliche Erfahrung ökologischer Themen. »Mit meiner Fotografie möchte ich das Auslöschen der ursprünglichen Landschaft zeigen«, erklärt der Künstler. »Falls wir es schaffen sollten, unser Verhalten der Natur gegenüber zu ändern, dokumentieren diese Bilder die Folgen unserer Fehler. Falls nicht, den Verlust von wertvollem Lebensraum – auch unserem eigenen.«

Die Ausstellung wird gefördert vom Ministerium für Heimat, Kommunales, Bau und Digitalisierung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.

"ödes land" reflète le lien entre l'homme et les tourbières, en particulier la Grande tourbière du district de Minden-Lübbecke. En exposant le travail de Johannes Hüffmeier, l'espace artistique Elsa, organisé par le professeur Katharina Bosse, se consacre à cette tourbière importante de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, qui constitue un habitat unique pour de nombreuses espèces animales et végétales menacées. Il a subi des changements dramatiques dus à l'intervention humaine et au changement climatique anthropique. Le photographe explique : "95 pour cent des tourbières ont été asséchées en Allemagne. Pour des intérêts économiques, ils ont été drainés et leurs écosystèmes ont ainsi été perturbés de manière irréversible". Avec son appareil photo, il documente ces changements dramatiques et transmet ainsi la question de la valeur et de la mission de la photographie dans le monde actuel.

Approche artistique
Le travail "ödes land" réunit les connaissances écologiques, l'esthétique philosophique de la nature et les concepts de l'histoire de l'art. La série comprend des prises de vue grand angle et de longs temps d'exposition qui capturent l'esthétique et les évolutions profondes des paysages de marais. Les images en couleur et en noir et blanc, les tirages au sel et le papier fait à la main à partir de l'eau des marais associent le médium de la photographie à la matérialité des marais et créent une expérience sensorielle des thèmes écologiques. "Avec ma photographie, je veux montrer l'effacement du paysage originel", explique l'artiste. "Si nous parvenons à changer notre comportement vis-à-vis de la nature, ces visuels documenteront les conséquences de nos erreurs. Si ce n'est pas le cas, la perte d'un précieux espace vital - y compris le nôtre".

L'exposition est soutenue par le ministère de la Patrie, des Communes, de la Construction et de la Numérisation du Land de Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie.

Approccio artistico
L'opera "Terra desolata" combina intuizioni ecologiche, estetica naturale filosofica e concetti storici dell'arte. La serie comprende scatti grandangolari e lunghi tempi di esposizione che catturano l'estetica e gli sviluppi profondi dei paesaggi di brughiera. Immagini a colori e in bianco e nero, stampe di sale e carta fatta a mano dall'acqua della brughiera combinano il mezzo fotografico con la materialità della brughiera e creano un'esperienza sensuale dei temi ecologici. "Con la mia fotografia voglio mostrare la cancellazione del paesaggio originale", spiega l'artista. "Se riusciamo a cambiare il nostro comportamento nei confronti della natura, queste immagini documentano le conseguenze dei nostri errori. In caso contrario, la perdita di un habitat prezioso, compreso il nostro".

La mostra è patrocinata dal Ministero dell'Identità Regionale, delle Comunità e degli Enti Locali, dell'Edilizia e della Digitalizzazione dello Stato della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia.

"ödes land" reflects the human connection to moors, in particular the large peat bog in the Minden-Lübbecke district. With the exhibition of Johannes Hüffmeier's work, the Kunstraum Elsa, organized by Prof. Katharina Bosse, is dedicated to the important raised bog in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is a unique habitat for many endangered animal and plant species. It has undergone dramatic changes due to human intervention and anthropogenic climate change. The photographer explains: "95 percent of the moors in Germany have been drained. Artistic approach
The work "desolate land" combines ecological insights, philosophical natural aesthetics and art historical concepts. The series comprises wide-angle shots and long exposure times that take up the aesthetics and profound developments of moorland landscapes. Color and black and white images, salt prints and handmade paper from moor water combine the medium of photography with the materiality of the moors and create a sensual experience of ecological themes. "With my photography, I want to show the erasure of the original landscape," explains the artist. "If we manage to change our behavior towards nature, these visuals document the consequences of our mistakes. If not, the loss of valuable habitat - including our own."
