Mit der Blockchain haben Menschen eine neue Infrastruktur zur Übertragung von Informationen geschaffen - und damit die Basis für Kryptowährungen wie den Bitcoin. Wie das System funktioniert, verstehen nur Eingeweihte. Um Licht in das Dunkel zu bringen, machte sich Danny Franzreb auf eine einjährige Reise zu Minern, Investoren und Glücksrittern auf. Er traf kleine Keller-Schürfer, entdeckte industrielle Mining-Farmen und stand vor Industrieruinen in Russland, und er sah die ersten High-Tech Fabriken mit nachhaltiger Produktion in Schweden.
Danny Franzreb setzt sich in seinen Arbeiten mit den transformativen Auswirkungen der modernen Gesellschaft auseinander. Als Fotograf wurde er unter anderem für seine Serie Benidorm mit dem IPA in Gold und mit dem Emerging Photography Award ausgezeichnet. Als Creative Director hat er lange mit Weltmarken zusammengearbeitet. Heute ist er Professor für Design an der Hochschule Neu-Ulm. Sein Fotobuch "Proof of Work" zur selben Fotoserie ist für den Deutschen Fotobuchpreis 2023/24 nominiert.

Avec la blockchain, les hommes ont créé une nouvelle infrastructure pour la transmission d'informations - et donc la base des cryptomonnaies comme le bitcoin. Seuls les initiés comprennent le fonctionnement de ce système. Pour faire la lumière sur ce sujet, Danny Franzreb a entrepris un voyage d'un an à la rencontre de mineurs, d'investisseurs et de chanceux. Il a rencontré de petits mineurs de sous-sol, découvert des fermes minières industrielles et s'est retrouvé devant des ruines industrielles en Russie, et il a vu les premières usines high-tech avec une production durable en Suède.
Dans son travail, Danny Franzreb se penche sur les effets transformateurs de la société moderne. En tant que photographe, il a notamment reçu l'IPA d'or et l'Emerging Photography Award pour sa série Benidorm. En tant que directeur de la création, il a longtemps collaboré avec des marques mondiales. Aujourd'hui, il est professeur de design à l'université de Neu-Ulm. Son livre de photos "Proof of Work" sur la même série de photos est nominé pour le Prix allemand du livre de photos 2023/24.

Con la blockchain è stata creata una nuova infrastruttura per il trasferimento di informazioni, che è alla base di criptovalute come il Bitcoin. Solo gli addetti ai lavori sanno come funziona il sistema. Per fare luce sull'argomento, Danny Franzreb ha intrapreso un viaggio di un anno per incontrare minatori, investitori e cacciatori di fortuna. Ha incontrato piccoli minatori in cantina, ha scoperto fattorie minerarie industriali e si è trovato di fronte a rovine industriali in Russia, e ha visto le prime fabbriche high-tech con produzione sostenibile in Svezia.
Nel suo lavoro, Danny Franzreb esplora gli effetti di trasformazione della società moderna. Come fotografo, è stato premiato, tra gli altri, con l'IPA in Gold e l'Emerging Photography Award per la serie Benidorm. Come direttore creativo, ha lavorato per molti anni con marchi globali. Oggi è professore di design all'Università di Scienze Applicate di Neu-Ulm. Il suo libro fotografico "Proof of Work" sulla stessa serie di foto è stato nominato per il German Photo Book Award 2023/24.

With the blockchain, people have created a new infrastructure that could be used to transfer information - and thus the basis for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. But only insiders understand how the system works. To shed light on the darkness, Danny Franzreb embarked on a year-long journey to miners, investors and fortune seekers. He met basement prospectors, discovered industrial mining farms, and stood in front of industrial ruins in Russia, and he saw the first high-tech factories with sustainable production in Sweden.
Danny Franzreb explores the transformative effects of modern society in his work. As a photographer, he has been recognized for series like Benidorm with the IPA in Gold and the Emerging Photography Award, among others. As a creative director, he has collaborated extensively with global brands. Franzreb is a professor of design at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). His photo book "Proof of Work" is nominated for the "Deutscher Fotobuchpreis 2023/24" (German Photobook Prize).
