Virtuos pendelt der Zürcher Alberto Venzago mit seiner Kamera zwischen Reportage und Werbung, zwischen Dokumentation und Inszenierung. Mit packenden Fotoessays und Filmen dokumentiert er kritisch das Weltgeschehen und erzählt bewegende Geschichten: vom Zürcher Platzspitz über den Voodoo-Kult Benins bis zur Kinderprostitution in Manila. Als concerned photographer scheut Venzago keinen Schauplatz – weder das organisierte Verbrechen der Yakuza in Japan, noch die langjährige Revolution im Iran. Gegenpol zu den Reportagen bilden seine durchkomponierten und konstruierten Bildwelten, die internationalen Brands als Werbekampagnen dienen oder weltbekannte Stars schillernd in Szene setzen. Venzagos erste Museumsausstellung überhaupt ist eine opulente Retrospektive seines Werks als Fotograf und Filmemacher.

Si les essais photographiques et les films captivants d’Alberto Venzago portent un regard critique sur la marche du monde, il crée aussi des univers visuels soigneusement composés pour des marques internationales ou des stars mondiales. La première exposition dans un musée de Venzago se veut une rétrospective opulente de son œuvre.
Con la sua macchina fotografica, lo zurighese Alberto Venzago oscilla virtuosamente tra reportage e pubblicità, tra documentazione e messa in scena. Con avvincenti saggi fotografici e filmati, documenta criticamente gli eventi mondiali e racconta storie commoventi: dal Platzspitz di Zurigo al culto voodoo del Benin alla prostituzione infantile a Manila. Come fotografo preoccupato, Venzago non risparmia nessuna scena - né il crimine organizzato della Yakuza in Giappone, né la lunga rivoluzione in Iran. Il contrappunto ai suoi reportage sono le sue immagini ben composte e costruite, che servono come campagne pubblicitarie per marchi internazionali o mettono in mostra in modo abbagliante star di fama mondiale. La prima mostra museale di Venzago è un'opulenta retrospettiva del suo lavoro di fotografo e regista.
Zurich photographer and filmmaker Alberto Venzago masterfully shuttles between the worlds of reportage and advertising, documentary and fiction. In gripping photo essays and films, he casts a critical gaze on world events, while in parallel creating carefully styled imagery for global brands and world-famous stars. Venzago’s first museum exhibition showcases his work in an opulent retrospective.
