Die Gruppenausstellung Resisting Images, Images Responding befragt vorherrschende Bildsysteme und Erzählstrategien kritisch. Bilder werden kontinuierlich gemacht und reproduziert, und sie zirkulieren. Sie können widerständig sein, aber oftmals sind sie fügsam. Die eingeladenen Künstler*innen adressieren dieses Spannungsfeld und formulieren in ihren künstlerischen Arbeiten eigene Methoden, um sich mit und gegen Bilder zu den drängenden Fragen unserer Gegenwart zu verhalten. Auf unterschiedliche Weisen kreisen alle Arbeiten um die Möglichkeit der Produktion von Wissen durch Bilder.
L'exposition collective "Résister aux images, répondre aux images" interroge de manière critique les systèmes d'images et les stratégies narratives dominants. Les images sont produites et reproduites en permanence, et elles circulent. Ils peuvent être résistants, mais ils sont souvent dociles. Les artistes invités* abordent ce champ de tension et formulent leurs propres méthodes dans leurs œuvres artistiques afin de répondre avec et contre les images aux questions pressantes de notre présent. De différentes manières, toutes les œuvres tournent autour de la possibilité de produire des connaissances par l'image.
La mostra collettiva Resisting Images, Images Responding Images si interroga criticamente sui sistemi di immagine prevalenti e sulle strategie narrative. Le immagini vengono continuamente realizzate e riprodotte e circolano. Possono essere resistenti, ma spesso sono docili. Gli artisti invitati* si rivolgono a questo campo di tensione e formulano i propri metodi nelle loro opere artistiche per rispondere con e contro le immagini alle pressanti domande del nostro presente. In modi diversi, tutte le opere ruotano intorno alla possibilità di produrre conoscenza attraverso le immagini.
The group exhibition Resisting Images, Images Responding critically questions prevailing image systems and narrative strategies. Images are continuously made and reproduced, and they circulate. They can be resistant, but often they are docile. The invited artists* address this field of tension and formulate their own methods in their artistic works in order to respond with and against images to the pressing questions of our present. In different ways, all the works revolve around the possibility of producing knowledge through images.
