Photo Esplanade lädt Sie ein, die Türen eines Gartens aufzustossen, hinter denen sich ein kleines Stück Paradies offenbart. Alfio Tommasini nimmt uns mit in den Iran zu den historischen Ursprüngen der antiken Gartenkunst. Gezeigt wird eine Reihe von Bildern, die er zum ersten Mal präsentiert.
Pairidaēza, «ummauerter Garten» auf Persisch, verweist auf einen Ort des Schutzes, der Freiheit und der Lebensfreude, aber auch auf eine metaphorische Darstellung des Universums. Der Tessiner Fotograf entführt uns auf eine zauberhafte Reise von der Wüste in Persepolis bis hin zu den Gärten Teherans. In deren Verlauf werden zuerst die Überrester der antiken Gärten und die Spiritualität ihrer Architektur erkundet, bevor sie uns schliesslich zu den grünen Paradiesen führt, in denen sich die Iranerinnen und Iraner noch heute gerne entspannen.
Photo Esplanade vous invite à entrouvrir les portes d’un jardin et à découvrir une part de paradis. Remontant aux origines historiques, Alfio Tommasini nous emmène en Iran, berceau antique de l’art du jardin pour découvrir une série d’images qu’il présente pour la première fois.
Pairidaēza, « jardin clos » en persan, évoque un lieu de protection, de liberté et de jouissance, mais il est aussi une représentation métaphorique de l’univers. Des zones désertiques de Persépolis aux jardins de Téhéran, le photographe tessinois nous emporte dans une épopée envoûtante. Explorant d’abord les vestiges des jardins antiques et la spiritualité de leur architecture, cette quête nous conduit jusqu’aux paradis verdoyants où les Iraniens aiment tant se prélasser encore aujourd’hui.

Pairidaēza, “walled garden” in Persian, evokes a place of protection, freedom and enjoyment, but also a metaphorical representation of the universe. From the deserts of Persepolis to the gardens of Tehran, the photographer from Ticino takes us on a spellbinding journey. Exploring first the remains of ancient gardens and the spirituality of their architecture, this quest leads us to the lush green paradises where Iranians still love to bask.
