Davos Is a Verb - Planetary Upgrade

15 Jahre nach Temporary Discomfort Chapter I-V, 2001–2003 (Lars Müller Publishers) ergänzt Jules Spinatsch (*1964) seine bekannte Arbeit um ein weiteres Kapitel, da sich seither etwas essentielles verändert hat. Parallel zum World Economic Forums WEF ist in Davos seit der Finanzkrise 2009 eine neue Praxis entstanden: Im Januar wird die 3 km lange Hauptstrasse von Davos fast auf ganzer Länge temporär umgebaut. So hat sich eine Pop-Up-Industrie entwickelt, die kurzfristig eine ungeheure Nachfrage nach umnutzbaren Räumen, freien Flächen und bespielbaren Wänden und Unterkünften generiert. Für die Repräsentation von Firmen, Konzernen und Organisationen wird das Strassenbild und die existierende Infrastruktur hektisch zu Kommunikationsoberflächen verschiedenster Agenden umgestaltet – selbstredend, unter horrendem logistischen und finanziellen Aufwand.
In der Ausstellung Davos Is a Verb – Planetary Upgrade – bereits die siebte Einzelausstellung des Künstlers in der Galerie Luciano Fasciati - baut Jules Spinatsch im Stil einer Messe, aus dem Material des Buches Davos Is a Verb (Lars Müller Publishers), mit bedruckten Textilbahnen und thematischen, skulpturalen Sitzwürfeln eine vielseitige, fotografische Installationen auf.
In Davos geboren und aufgewachsen, konnte Jules Spinatsch zugleich als Insider und als Outsider agieren. Die Ausstellung und das Buch präsentieren das Resultat seiner Infiltration mit ironischer Distanz, während der britische Ökonom Tim Jackson von seinem Besuch in Davos erzählt und die hegemonialen Praktiken in Davos und der Welt in seinem Essay unsmoke your mind kommentiert.
Angesichts der Debatten um die Zukunft des World Economic Forums gewinnen Buch und Ausstellung zusätzlich an Relevanz und präsentierten ein Zeitdokument des WEF und der möglicherweise letzten Party dieser Art in Davos.
15 ans après Temporary Discomfort Chapitre I-V, 2001-2003 (Éditions Lars Müller), Jules Spinatsch (*1964) ajoute un autre chapitre à son œuvre bien connue, car quelque chose d'essentiel a changé depuis lors. Parallèlement au Forum économique mondial (WEF), une nouvelle pratique est apparue à Davos depuis la crise financière de 2009 : En janvier, presque toute la longueur de la rue principale de Davos, longue de 3 km, est temporairement reconstruite. De cette manière l'industrie pop-up s'est développée, ce qui a créé à court terme une énorme demande d'espaces convertibles, de zones libres et des espaces libres et des murs et logements jouables. Pour la représentation des entreprises, des sociétés et les organisations, le paysage de rue et l'infrastructure existante sont transformés en surfaces de communication des agendas - bien sûr, à un coût logistique et financier épouvantable effort.

Nato e cresciuto a Davos, Jules Spinatsch ha potuto agire sia come insider che come outsider. Il la mostra e il libro presentano il risultato della sua infiltrazione con ironica distanza, mentre il l'economista britannico Tim Jackson racconta la sua visita a Davos ed esamina le pratiche egemoniche a Davos e nel mondo nel suo saggio unsmiling e il mondo nel suo saggio disincentiva la tua mente.
