Die Galerie CAMERA WORK präsen[ert ab dem 5. Februar 2022 die Ausstellung »Anton Corbijn«, die mit mehr als 30, teils großforma[gen und erst kürzlich veröffentlichten Werken Einblicke in das umfangreiche Schaffenswerk des interna[onal renommierten Fotografen und Filmregisseurs gewährt, der in Kooperation mit den wohl beeindruckendsten Persönlichkeiten der Musik-, Film-, Kunst- und Modewelt in einer unverkennbaren Bildsprache Porträts erschaffen hat.
Anton Corbijn wird 1955 im niederländischen Strijen geboren. Seine ersten Fotos macht er im Alter von 17 Jahren und vermag es als Autodidakt bald schon Werke mit höchstem Wiedererkennungswert zu etablieren. Die grobkörnigen Aufnahmen geben einen rauen sowie sinnlichen Blick auf die Welt frei. Gelegentlich verleiht Corbijn seinen Objekten Glanz durch Verkleidungen, aber meist nutzt er die freie Natur als sein »Studio«, seine Domäne. Zudem hat die Dokumentarfotografie hat einen großen Einfluss auf sein Werk.
Anton Corbijn hat insbesondere die visuelle Darstellung der Musikwelt geprägt wie kein anderer. Entstanden ist sein eindringlicher, cooler Look vor allem im Rahmen langjähriger Koopera[onen mit Ikonen wie The Rolling Stones, Nick Cave, Herbert Grönemeyer, Tom Waits, U2 und Depeche Mode. Letztere Band begleitet der Fotokünstler seit Jahren als Art Director. Es gibt darüber hinaus wohl kaum eine Größe im Musikbusiness, die Corbijn nicht porträ[ert hat. Die Ausstellung zeigt s[lprägende und theatralisch beeinflusste Fotografien von David Bowie, Brian Ferry, Marianne Faithfull, BB King, Frank Zappa, Iggy Pop, Annie Lennox, Jon Bon Jovi, Vanessa Paradis und Brian Eno sowie Fotografien von Supermodels wie Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Christy Turlington und Naomi Campbell. Besonders eindrucksvoll in der Ausstellung ist ein Porträt der Formel-1-Legende Michael Schumacher an der Rennstrecke in Estoril, wo der Ausnahmesportler in voller Montur einen interessanten SchaEen auf eine nahegelegene Wand wirs.
Anton Corbijn hat nicht nur als Fotograf interna[onales Renommee erlangt, er ist zudem als Regisseur u. a. mit »Control« (2007), »The American« (2010), »A Most Wanted Man« (2014) und »Life« (2015) äußerst erfolgreich. Für seine Filme und Fotografien wurde Corbijn mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Seine Werke sind in zahlreichen renommierten Privat- und Museumssammlungen weltweit vertreten.
La galerie CAMERA WORK présentera à partir du 5 février 2022 l'exposition "Anton Corbijn" qui, avec plus de 30 œuvres, dont certaines de grand format et récemment publiées, donne un aperçu de l'œuvre considérable de ce photographe et réalisateur de renommée internationale, qui a créé des portraits dans un langage visuel unique, en collaboration avec les personnalités les plus impressionnantes du monde de la musique, du cinéma, de l'art et de la mode.
Anton Corbijn est né en 1955 à Strijen, aux Pays-Bas. Il prend ses premières photos à l'âge de 17 ans et, en tant qu'autodidacte, il parvient rapidement à créer des œuvres reconnaissables entre toutes. Les clichés à gros grain offrent un regard brut et sensuel sur le monde. De temps en temps, Corbijn donne de l'éclat à ses objets en les déguisant, mais la plupart du temps, il utilise la nature comme son "studio", son domaine. En outre, la photographie documentaire a eu une grande influence sur son œuvre.

Un portrait de la légende de la Formule 1, Michael Schumacher, est particulièrement impressionnant dans l'exposition, sur le circuit d'Estoril, où le sportif d'exception, tout habillé, fait un croquis intéressant sur un mur voisin.

From February 5, 2022, the CAMERA WORK gallery will present the exhibition "Anton Corbijn", which, with more than 30 works, some of them large-format and recently published, will provide insights into the extensive oeuvre of the internationally renowned photographer and film director, who has created portraits in a distinctive visual language in cooperation with probably the most impressive personalities in the world of music, film, art and fashion.
