Eine Ausstellung über die Potentiale des Träumens und Spekulierens im Spiegel gesellschaftlicher und ökologischer Veränderungen.
Veränderungen sind zutiefst immanente Eigenschaften des Lebens. Leben ist an sich ein stetiger Wandlungsvorgang. Veränderungen stellen somit nichts Aussergewöhnliches, sondern eher den «Normalzustand» dar und doch haben sie für Menschen teilweise bedrohliche Seiten: Einerseits, weil sie ein gewohntes und eingerichtetes Leben in Frage stellen und andererseits, wenn durch diese Veränderungen tatsächlich Bedrohungen für Leib und Leben zu befürchten sind. Träumen, Spekulieren und Imaginieren stellen ebenso urmenschliche Fähigkeiten dar, die es uns ermöglichen, jenseits der Realität, eine andere Zukunft zu erdenken. Die Ausstellung «Alpen Traum & Wandlung» zeigt solche spekulativen Praktiken in Design, Film und Kunst auf und möchte damit exemplarisch auf unterschiedliche Veränderungsprozesse blicken und diese damit beschreiben.
In der Ausstellung sind fotografische Arbeiten der Künstlerin Marianne Engel zu sehen, die auf mystisch-poetische Weise das Werden und Vergehen von Lebewesen wie beispielsweise Pflanzen oder Pilze aufzeigen. Daneben befasst sich die österreichische Designerin Sophie Falkeis in einer raumgreifenden Videoinstallation mit der durch den Klimawandel verursachten Wanderung verschiedener Tierarten. Angesichts der aktuellen politischen Situation in Europa gewinnt die Arbeit «Warm-Glow» von Marina Belobrovaja an zusätzlicher Brisanz: Der filmische Essay zeigt eine Reisegruppe von Schweizer Politiker:innen, Journalist:innen und Tourist:innen, die 2011 in die atomare Sperrzone von Tschernobyl reisen, und beschäftigt sich so mit dem unglaublichen Wandel der verseuchten Region zu einer Tourismusdestination. Die Videoinstallation «Europa» von Céline und Oliver Brunko ist eine kinematografische Erkundung städtischer Transformationsprozesse anhand des Stadtteils «Europaallee» in Zürich. Das Kollektiv Los Bonitos setzt sich aus jungen Designer:innen zusammen und zeigt auf humorvoll-kritische Weise, wie sie selbst mit den medialen Narrativen von Greta Thunberg und Al Gore umgehen und sich dazu positionieren. Ebenfalls Teil der Ausstellung sind Fotografien und Originaldrucke alpiner Veränderungsprozesse, als Leihgaben der Graphischen Sammlung der Schweizerischen Nationalbibliothek sowie des Alpinen Museums.

Une exposition sur les potentiels du rêve et de la spéculation dans le miroir des changements sociaux et écologiques.
Les changements sont des caractéristiques profondément immanentes de la vie. La vie est en soi un processus de transformation constant. Les changements n'ont donc rien d'extraordinaire, ils représentent plutôt "l'état normal" et pourtant, ils ont parfois un côté menaçant pour les gens : D'une part, parce qu'ils remettent en question une vie habituelle et aménagée et, d'autre part, lorsque ces changements font réellement craindre des menaces pour la vie et l'intégrité physique. Rêver, spéculer et imaginer sont également des capacités humaines primaires qui nous permettent d'imaginer un autre avenir, au-delà de la réalité. L'exposition "Alpen Traum & Wandlung" présente de telles pratiques spéculatives dans le design, le cinéma et l'art et souhaite ainsi jeter un regard exemplaire sur différents processus de changement et les décrire ainsi.
L'exposition présente des travaux photographiques de l'artiste Marianne Engel, qui montrent de manière mystique et poétique le devenir et la disparition d'êtres vivants tels que les plantes ou les champignons. Par ailleurs, la designer autrichienne Sophie Falkeis se penche sur la migration de différentes espèces animales causée par le changement climatique dans une installation vidéo qui occupe tout l'espace. Au vu de la situation politique actuelle en Europe, l'œuvre "Warm-Glow" de Marina Belobrovaja est encore plus explosive : l'essai cinématographique montre un groupe de politiciens, de journalistes et de touristes suisses se rendant dans la zone d'exclusion nucléaire de Tchernobyl en 2011, et se penche ainsi sur l'incroyable transformation de la région contaminée en destination touristique. L'installation vidéo "Europa" de Céline et Oliver Brunko est une exploration cinématographique des processus de transformation urbaine à partir du quartier "Europaallee" de Zurich. Le collectif Los Bonitos, composé de jeunes designers, montre de manière critique et humoristique comment ils traitent et se positionnent par rapport aux récits médiatiques de Greta Thunberg et d'Al Gore. L'exposition comprend également des photographies et des imprimés originaux sur les processus de changement dans les Alpes, prêtés par le Cabinet des estampes de la Bibliothèque nationale suisse et le Musée alpin.

Una mostra sulle potenzialità del sogno e della speculazione nello specchio dei cambiamenti sociali ed ecologici.
I cambiamenti sono proprietà profondamente immanenti alla vita. La vita è di per sé un processo costante di cambiamento. I cambiamenti non sono quindi nulla di straordinario, ma piuttosto lo "stato normale", eppure a volte hanno aspetti minacciosi per le persone: Da un lato, perché mettono in discussione una vita abituale e consolidata, dall'altro, quando questi cambiamenti rappresentano effettivamente una minaccia per la vita e l'integrità fisica. Sognare, speculare e immaginare sono anche capacità umane primordiali che ci permettono di immaginare un futuro diverso al di là della realtà. La mostra "Alps Dream & Change" presenta tali pratiche speculative nel design, nel cinema e nell'arte e vuole guardare in modo esemplare a diversi processi di cambiamento e quindi descriverli.
La mostra comprende opere fotografiche dell'artista Marianne Engel, che mostrano in modo mistico-poetico il divenire e il passare di esseri viventi come piante o funghi. Inoltre, la designer austriaca Sophie Falkeis si occupa della migrazione di varie specie animali causata dal cambiamento climatico in un'ampia installazione video. Alla luce dell'attuale situazione politica europea, l'opera "Warm-Glow" di Marina Belobrovaja acquista ulteriore esplosività: il film-saggio mostra un gruppo di viaggio di politici svizzeri, giornalisti e turisti che si recano nella zona di esclusione nucleare di Chernobyl nel 2011 e affronta così l'incredibile trasformazione della regione contaminata in una destinazione turistica. La videoinstallazione "Europa" di Céline e Oliver Brunko è un'esplorazione cinematografica dei processi di trasformazione urbana basata sul quartiere "Europaallee" di Zurigo. Il collettivo Los Bonitos è composto da giovani designer e mostra in modo umoristico e critico come essi stessi affrontano le narrazioni mediatiche di Greta Thunberg e Al Gore e come si posizionano rispetto ad esse. Fanno parte della mostra anche fotografie e stampe originali dei processi di trasformazione delle Alpi, prestate dal Gabinetto delle Stampe della Biblioteca Nazionale Svizzera e dal Museo delle Alpi.

An exhibition about the potentials of dreaming and speculating in the mirror of social and ecological changes.
Changes are profoundly immanent properties of life. Life is in itself a constant process of change. Thus, changes do not represent anything extraordinary, but rather the "normal state", and yet they sometimes have threatening aspects for people: On the one hand, because they call into question a life that has been accustomed to and established, and on the other hand, when threats to life and limb are actually to be feared as a result of these changes. Dreaming, speculating and imagining are also primal human abilities that enable us to imagine a different future beyond reality. The exhibition "Alps Dream & Change" shows such speculative practices in design, film and art and wants to look exemplarily at different processes of change and describe them with it.
The exhibition includes photographic works by the artist Marianne Engel, which show in a mystical-poetic way the becoming and passing of living beings such as plants or mushrooms. In addition, the Austrian designer Sophie Falkeis deals with the migration of various animal species caused by climate change in a room-sized video installation. In view of the current political situation in Europe, the work "Warm-Glow" by Marina Belobrovaja gains additional poignancy: the cinematic essay shows a travel group of Swiss politicians, journalists and tourists traveling to the nuclear exclusion zone of Chernobyl in 2011, thus dealing with the incredible transformation of the contaminated region into a tourist destination. The video installation "Europa" by Céline and Oliver Brunko is a cinematographic exploration of urban transformation processes based on the "Europaallee" district in Zurich. The collective Los Bonitos is made up of young designers and shows in a humorously critical way how they themselves deal with the media narratives of Greta Thunberg and Al Gore and position themselves in relation to them. Also part of the exhibition are photographs and original prints of alpine change processes, on loan from the Prints and Drawings Department of the Swiss National Library and the Alpine Museum.
