Das PhotoBrussels Festival wurde 2016 auf Initiative von Delphine Dumont im Hangar gegründet. Ziel des Festivals ist es, einen Monat lang alle Liebhaber, Akteure und Fachleute der zeitgenössischen Fotografie zusammenzubringen. Seit 2022 haben die Gründung des gemeinnützigen Vereins Photo Art et Culture ASBL und die Einrichtung eines Koordinierungsausschusses den Ruf und die Bedeutung des Festivals in Brüssel gestärkt.

Das PhotoBrussels Festival verleiht Brüssel seinen Platz als wichtiger Akteur in der internationalen Fotoszene und ist Teil des Europäischen Monats der Fotografie (EMOP), eines Netzwerks von Fotofestivals, das in verschiedenen europäischen Städten wie Berlin, Lissabon, Luxemburg, Paris, Wien und Brüssel vertreten ist. Das PhotoBrussels Festival empfängt ein lokales (Region Brüssel-Hauptstadt), belgisches und internationales (angrenzende Länder) Publikum, zusätzlich zu professionellen Fotografen, Sammlern und einem Publikum, das gerne Kunstgalerien und Kulturzentren besucht.

Das PhotoBrussels Festival ist der wichtigste Treffpunkt für Fotografie in Brüssel. Das Festival bietet den Besuchern einen Rundgang durch Ausstellungen in verschiedenen kulturellen Einrichtungen (Kunstgalerien, Museen, Kunstzentren...) innerhalb der belgischen Hauptstadt.

Créé en 2016 à l’initiative du Hangar par Delphine Dumont, PhotoBrussels Festival a pour objectif de réunir pendant un mois tous les amateurs, acteurs et professionnels de la photographie contemporaine. Depuis 2022, la création de l’ASBL Photo Art et Culture et la mise en place du comité de coordination ont permis de renforcer la réputation et l’importance du festival à Bruxelles.

PhotoBrussels Festival est un événement qui donne à Bruxelles sa place d’acteur incontournable de la scène photographique internationale et s’inscrit dans le cadre du Mois Européen de la Photographie (EMOP), un réseau de festivals de photographie présent dans différentes villes européennes telles que Berlin, Lisbonne, Luxembourg, Paris, Vienne et Bruxelles. Le PhotoBrussels Festival accueille un public local (Région Bruxelles-Capitale), belge et international (pays limitrophes), en plus des professionnels de la photographie, des collectionneurs et des publics amateurs de visites en galeries d’art et centres culturels.

PhotoBrussels Festival est le rendez-vous incontournable de la photographie à Bruxelles. Le Festival propose aux visiteurs un parcours d’expositions dans diverses structures culturelles (galeries d’art, musées, centres d’art…) au sein de la capitale belge.

Creato nel 2016 su iniziativa dell'Hangar da Delphine Dumont, il PhotoBrussels Festival si propone di riunire per un mese tutti i dilettanti, gli attori e i professionisti della fotografia contemporanea. Dal 2022, la creazione dell'ASBL Photo Art et Culture e l'istituzione del comitato di coordinamento hanno rafforzato la reputazione e l'importanza del festival a Bruxelles.

Il PhotoBrussels Festival è un evento che conferisce a Bruxelles un ruolo di primo piano sulla scena fotografica internazionale e fa parte del Mese Europeo della Fotografia (EMOP), una rete di festival di fotografia in varie città europee come Berlino, Lisbona, Lussemburgo, Parigi, Vienna e Bruxelles. Il PhotoBrussels Festival accoglie un pubblico locale (Regione di Bruxelles-Capitale), belga e internazionale (Paesi limitrofi), oltre a professionisti della fotografia, collezionisti e persone che amano visitare gallerie d'arte e centri culturali.

Il PhotoBrussels Festival è l'evento imperdibile per la fotografia a Bruxelles. Il Festival offre ai visitatori una serie di mostre in vari luoghi culturali (gallerie d'arte, musei, centri d'arte, ecc.) della capitale belga.

Created in 2016 at the Hangar's initiative by Delphine Dumont, PhotoBrussels Festival aims to bring together all contemporary photography enthusiasts, players and professionals for a month. Since 2022, the creation of the ASBL Photo Art et Culture and the setting up of a coordinating committee have strengthened the festival's reputation and importance in Brussels.

PhotoBrussels Festival is an event that gives Brussels its place as a key player on the international photography scene, and is part of the European Month of Photography (EMOP), a network of photography festivals present in various European cities such as Berlin, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Paris, Vienna and Brussels. The PhotoBrussels Festival welcomes local (Brussels-Capital Region), Belgian and international (neighboring countries) audiences, as well as photography professionals, collectors and art gallery and cultural center visitors.

PhotoBrussels Festival is the must-attend event for photography in Brussels. The Festival offers visitors a tour of exhibitions in various cultural structures (art galleries, museums, art centers...) in the heart of the Belgian capital.

Mit der FOTO WIEN wird vom 1.–30.6.2023 der Fokus auf aktuelle Bildwelten gelegt.

Museen, Ausstellungsinstitutionen, Gedenkstätten, Archive, Bibliotheken, Sammlungen, Kulturinstitute, Universitäten, Fotofachschulen sowie Galerien und Projekträume der Stadt Wien entwickeln speziell für das Festival Ausstellungen und andere Formate. Begleitet von einem umfangreichen Kommunikations- und Vermittlungsangebot richten sie sich an ein breites Publikum genauso wie an Fachbesucher:innen.

So zeigt die FOTO WIEN die vielfältigen Erscheinungsweisen und Verwendungsformen des wandelbaren Mediums Fotografie immer wieder neu.

Eines der Highlights der 11. Ausgabe wird die in Zusammenarbeit mit Magnum Paris kuratierte Ausstellung in der Festivalzentrale im MQ21 sein.

Die FOTO WIEN ist Teil des Europäischen Monats der Fotografie (EMOP) und wird ab 2023 vom FOTO ARSENAL WIEN organisiert.

Avec FOTO WIEN, l'accent sera mis sur les mondes visuels actuels du 1er au 30 juin 2023.

Des musées, des institutions d'exposition, des mémoriaux, des archives, des bibliothèques, des collections, des instituts culturels, des universités, des écoles de photographie ainsi que des galeries et des espaces de projets de la ville de Vienne développent des expositions et d'autres formats spécialement pour le festival. Accompagnés d'une vaste offre de communication et de médiation, ils s'adressent aussi bien à un large public qu'à des visiteurs professionnels.

Ainsi, FOTO WIEN montre les multiples manifestations et formes d'utilisation du média changeant qu'est la photographie.

L'un des points forts de la 11e édition sera l'exposition organisée en collaboration avec Magnum Paris dans la centrale du festival au MQ21.

FOTO WIEN fait partie du Mois européen de la photographie (EMOP) et sera organisé à partir de 2023 par le FOTO ARSENAL WIEN.

Con FOTO WIEN, l'attenzione si concentrerà sui mondi visivi attuali dal 1° al 30 giugno 2023.

Musei, istituzioni espositive, memoriali, archivi, biblioteche, collezioni, istituti culturali, università, scuole di fotografia, gallerie e spazi di progetto della città di Vienna sviluppano mostre e altri formati appositamente per il festival. Accompagnate da un ampio programma di comunicazione e mediazione, sono rivolte a un vasto pubblico e a visitatori professionali.

In questo modo, FOTO WIEN mostra le diverse manifestazioni e forme di utilizzo del mutevole mezzo fotografico in modi sempre nuovi.

Uno dei punti salienti dell'11ª edizione sarà la mostra curata in collaborazione con Magnum Paris presso la sede del festival a MQ21.

FOTO WIEN fa parte del Mese Europeo della Fotografia (EMOP) e sarà organizzato da FOTO ARSENAL WIEN a partire dal 2023.

Museums, exhibition institutions, memorials, archives, libraries, collections, cultural institutes, universities, photography schools as well as galleries and project spaces in the city of Vienna develop exhibitions and art educations for the festival.

Accompanied by an extensive communication and mediation offer, they are aimed at a broad audience as well as at professional visitors. In this way, FOTO WIEN includes the diverse manifestations of photography in ever new ways.

One of the highlights of the 11th edition will be the exhibition curated in collaboration with Magnum Paris at the festival headquarters in MQ21.

FOTO VIENNA is part of the European Month of Photography (EMOP) and will be organized by FOTO ARSENAL VIENNA from 2023.

FOTO WIEN bietet Inspiration, Kulturgenuss und die Möglichkeit für Neuentdeckungen: Die Besucher sind eingeladen, spannende Fotoprojekte in ganz Wien zu erkunden. Um noch tiefer in das Thema Fotografie eintauchen zu können, richtet FOTO WIEN erstmals eine Festivalzentrale ein. Die Otto Wagner Postsparkasse im ersten Bezirk wird für die Dauer von 19 Tagen zur Drehscheibe der Wiener Fotoszene. Die Festivalzentrale bietet Platz für Fotoausstellungen, einen Photobook Market und ist zudem Ort für internationalen Diskurs rund um das große Thema Fotografie. Ergänzt werden die Ausstellungen durch Workshops, Portfolio Reviews, Vorträge und vieles mehr.

Mit der Neuausrichtung von FOTO WIEN wird auch auf das Prozesshafte eines Festivals eingegangen. Das Label Monat der Fotografie hat seinen Ursprung in Paris und wurde in der Folge von zahlreichen europäischen Städten aufgegriffen. In diesem Zusammenhang würdigt FOTO WIEN gemeinsam mit dem Gastland Frankreich die zugrundeliegende Idee eines Fotofestivals mit einer eigenen Ausstellung in der Festivalzentrale und im öffentlichen Raum.

FOTO WIEN ist Mitglied des European Month of Photography (EMOP), in Rahmen dessen auch die Fotofestivals in Athen, Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Luxemburg und Paris stattfinden. Ziel des EMOP ist es, die internationale Vernetzung der Fotoszene zu stärken und den Erfahrungs- und Informationsaustausch auf europäischer Ebene zu intensivieren. Das Ergebnis dieser Zusammenarbeit wird in der gemeinsam konzipierten Ausstellung Bodyfiction in der Festivalzentrale präsentiert.

Seit 2004 stellt Deutschlands größtes Fotofestival alle zwei Jahre die ganze Bandbreite historischer und zeitgenössischer Fotografie in Berlin vor. Museen, Kulturinstitutionen, Galerien, Projekträume, Botschaften und Fotoschulen in Berlin und Potsdam präsentieren zahlreiche Ausstellungsprojekte und Veranstaltungen, ausgewählt von einer Fachjury. Die Formate reichen von Ausstellungen im Außenraum und großen Museumspräsentationen, über Einzel- und Gruppenpräsentationen in Galerien und Projekträumen bis zu beeindruckenden Beiträgen vieler ausländischer Kulturinstitute und Botschaften sowie der städtischen Kunst- und Kulturämter.

2016 fanden erstmals zum Auftakt des Festivals die EMOP Opening Days in Kooperation mit der C/O Berlin Foundation im Amerika Haus statt, die in 3 Tagen mehr als 10.000 Besucherinnen und Besucher anzogen. Wegen des großen Erfolges fanden sie 2018 erneut bei C/O Berlin statt.

Das Projekt EMOP Berlin - Euopean Month of Photography 2020 wird gefördert vom Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) und der Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa.

Since 2004, Germany’s largest photo festival shows the entire spectrum of historical and contemporary photography in Berlin every two years. Numerous museums, cultural institutions, galleries, project spaces, embassies, and photo schools in Berlin and Potsdam present exhibitions and events which have been selected by a panel of experts. The formats range from outdoor exhibitions and large museum shows to individual and group presentations in galleries and project spaces, and impressive contributions from various international cultural institutions and embassies as well as municipal offices for art and culture.

In 2016, the EMOP Opening Days were held for the first time in cooperation with the C/O Berlin Foundation at Amerika Haus, attracting more than 10,000 visitors over three days. Due to this great success, they took place again 2018 and were curated by the C/O Berlin Foundation.

The project EMOP Berlin - Euopean Month of Photography 2018 is supported by European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) and Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
