In der Ausstellung REVISITED zeigt Christof Klute Werke, die in den letzten Jahren entstanden sind. Der Titel bezieht sich u.a. auf ein Album von Bob Dylan: "Highway 61 Revisited". Dabei handelt es sich um eine Straße, die Dylans Heimatstadt mit wichtigen Blues-Metropolen verbindet, in denen wichtige Musiker für Dylan gearbeitet haben.
Auch die Fotoserien von Christof Klute sind an Orten entstanden, die den Künstler persönlich interessieren und die mit Ideenwelten wie Philosophie, Mystik und Literatur verbunden sind. So folgen die gezeigten Fotografien Wanderungen, entstehen bei Besuchen in Kirchen oder bei Aufenthalten in Klöstern. In der aktuellen Ausstellung sind aber auch Beispiele für programmatische Architekturen zu sehen, die sich aus bestimmten Idealen und Utopien des menschlichen Lebens und Zusammenlebens ergeben. Es ist immer ein spekulativer Blick auf den sinnlichen Aspekt von Ideen.
In der künstlerischen Arbeitsweise spielen die Konzepte von Serie und Wiederholung eine zentrale Rolle. Christof Klute produziert Fotos immer in Serien. Meist sind es einfache Bewegungen vor Ort, die den fotografischen Blick lenken. So entstehen Bilder, die sich oft nur geringfügig unterscheiden, zum Beispiel in der Richtung des Lichts, wobei Abstraktion und Atmosphäre in ein besonderes Spannungsverhältnis treten. Und die Einzelbilder werden dann in Gruppen, in Reihen oder Blöcken zusammengefasst.
Das wiederholte Aufsuchen von Orten hat durchaus eine meditative Bedeutung. So wird der Aspekt der Zeit zum Thema: Die Orte wechseln, aber auch der Blick des Fotografen. Klutes fotografische Arbeit kann auch als biografische Absicherung verstanden werden.
Dans l'exposition REVISITE, Christof Klute présente des œuvres créées ces dernières années. Le titre fait référence, entre autres, à un album de Bob Dylan : "Highway 61 Revisited". Il s'agit d'une route qui relie la ville natale de Dylan à d'importantes métropoles du Blues, où d'importants musiciens ont travaillé pour Dylan.
De même, les séries de photos de Christof Klute sont prises dans des lieux qui intéressent personnellement l'artiste, des lieux liés à des mondes d'idées tels que la philosophie, le mysticisme et la littérature. Ainsi, les photographies présentées font suite à des déambulations, sont prises lors de visites d'églises ou de séjours dans des monastères. Mais dans l'exposition actuelle, il y a aussi des exemples d'architecture programmatique résultant de certains idéaux et de certaines utopies de la vie et de la coexistence humaine. Il s'agit toujours d'un regard spéculatif sur l'aspect sensuel des idées.
Dans la méthode de travail artistique, les concepts de série et de répétition jouent un rôle central. Christof Klute produit toujours des photos en série. En général, ce sont de simples mouvements sur place qui guident le regard photographique. Il en résulte des images qui ne diffèrent souvent que légèrement, par exemple dans la direction de la lumière, où l'abstraction et l'atmosphère entrent dans une relation de tension particulière. Les images individuelles sont ensuite combinées en groupes, en rangées ou en blocs.
La visite répétée de lieux a certainement une signification méditative. L'aspect temporel devient ainsi le sujet : les lieux changent, mais le regard du photographe aussi. Le travail photographique de Klute peut également être compris comme une sécurité biographique.
Nella mostra REVISITED Christof Klute espone opere realizzate negli ultimi anni. Il titolo si riferisce, tra l’altro, ad un album di Bob Dylan: “Highway 61 Revisited”. Si tratta di una strada che collega la città natale di Dylan con importanti metropoli del Blues, nelle quali per Dylan hanno lavorato importanti musicisti.
Allo stesso modo, le serie fotografiche di Christof Klute vengono realizzate in luoghi di interesse personale per l’artista, luoghi legati a mondi di idee come la filosofia, il misticismo, la letteratura. Così, le fotografie mostrate seguono vagabondaggi, vengono scattate durante le visite alle chiese o durante i soggiorni nei monasteri. Nella mostra in corso, però, ci sono anche esempi di architettura programmatica frutto di certi ideali e certe utopie della vita e della convivenza umana. Si tratta sempre di uno sguardo speculativo sull’aspetto sensuale delle idee.
Nel metodo di lavoro artistico, i concetti di serie e ripetizione svolgono un ruolo centrale. Christof Klute produce sempre foto in serie. Di solito sono semplici movimenti sul luogo a guidare lo sguardo fotografico. Risultano immagini che spesso differiscono solo minimamente, ad esempio nella direzione della luce, dove astrazione e atmosfera entrano in un particolare rapporto di tensione. E le singole immagini vengono poi combinate in gruppi, in righe o blocchi.
La visita ripetitiva dei luoghi ha sicuramente un significato meditativo. Così l’aspetto del tempo diventa argomento: i luoghi cambiano, ma anche lo sguardo del fotografo. L’opera fotografica di Klute può essere intesa anche come sicurezza biografica.
In the exhibition REVISITED Christof Klute exhibits works made in recent years. The title refers, among other things, to a Bob Dylan album, "Highway 61 Revisited." This is a road that connects Dylan's hometown with important Blues metropolises in which important musicians worked for Dylan.
Similarly, Christof Klute's photographic series are taken in places of personal interest to the artist, places linked to worlds of ideas such as philosophy, mysticism, and literature. In the current exhibition, however, there are also examples of programmatic architecture resulting from certain ideals and certain utopias of human life and coexistence. The repetitive visiting of places certainly has a meditative meaning. Thus the appearance of time becomes a subject: the places change, but so does the photographer's gaze. Klute's photographic work can also be understood as biographical security.
