Erich Dal Canton
Langsames Schauen – stille Bilder – stilles Licht – gleichsam ewig gültige Ansichten.
Erich Dal Canton untersucht mit seinen Bildern Zeit und Zeitlichkeit. Die damit korrelierenden menschlichen Erfahrungen werden in der Bildbetrachtung spürbar. Im Genauen fängt sein fotografisches Auge Orte der Ruhe oder gar Orte des Stillstandes fest, die ihrerseits einer Zeitlichkeit enthoben wirken. Das richtige Licht zu finden ist für ihn eine Obsession. In dieser Hinsicht wird das Licht für Dal Canton zum künstlerischen Stilmittel, was sich auch in den bevorzugten analogen Techniken — namentlich etwa Silbergelatine- oder Lith-Verfahren zeigt.
In seinem Bildschaffungsprozess steckt auch immer wieder die Sehnsucht nach Freiheit. „Wenn man bereit ist, die Welt auszuklammern und sich auf seine innere Reise zu begeben, kann man bei jeder Tätigkeit und überall seine Ruhe finden. Die Geheimnisse der Welt verbergen sich zweifellos in der Stille.
Seine aufwändig eingesetzte fotografische Technik ist reines analoges Handwerk. Seine zur Anwendung kommenden Aufnahmeformate decken das Spektrum von 6x6cm bis 20x25cm ab. Bei der Betrachtung der Bilder von Erich Dal Canton werden wir in eine andere Welt entführt, in eine Welt der Ruhe und Stille.

Avec ses images, Erich Dal Canton étudie le temps et la temporalité. Les expériences humaines qui y sont corrélées deviennent perceptibles dans la contemplation des images. Dans la précision, son œil de photographe saisit des lieux de calme, voire des lieux d'immobilité, qui semblent à leur tour dépourvus de temporalité. Trouver la bonne lumière est pour lui une obsession. Dans cette optique, la lumière devient pour Dal Canton un moyen de style artistique, ce qui se reflète également dans les techniques analogiques qu'il privilégie, notamment les procédés à la gélatine argentée ou au lith.
Dans son processus de création d'images, il y a aussi toujours un désir de liberté. "Si l'on est prêt à faire abstraction du monde et à se lancer dans un voyage intérieur, on peut trouver la paix dans chaque activité et partout. Les secrets du monde se cachent sans aucun doute dans le silence.
La technique photographique qu'il utilise est purement analogique. Les formats de ses photos vont de 6x6cm à 20x25cm. En regardant les visuels d'Erich Dal Canton, nous sommes transportés dans un autre monde, un monde de calme et de silence.

Erich Dal Canton esplora il tempo e la temporalità nei suoi dipinti. Le esperienze umane correlate diventano percepibili nella contemplazione dell'immagine. Il suo occhio fotografico cattura luoghi di tranquillità o addirittura di stasi, che sembrano a loro volta sottratti alla temporalità. Trovare la luce giusta è per lui un'ossessione. In questo senso, la luce diventa per Dal Canton un dispositivo stilistico artistico, che si riflette anche nelle tecniche analogiche da lui preferite, ovvero la gelatina d'argento o i processi litici.
Nel suo processo di creazione di immagini, c'è sempre anche un desiderio di libertà. "Se siete disposti a chiudere fuori il mondo e a intraprendere il vostro viaggio interiore, potete trovare la pace in qualsiasi attività, ovunque. I segreti del mondo sono indubbiamente nascosti nel silenzio.
La sua elaborata tecnica fotografica è puro artigianato analogico. I formati utilizzati coprono uno spettro che va dal 6x6cm al 20x25cm. Osservando i quadri di Erich Dal Canton, siamo trasportati in un altro mondo, un mondo di calma e silenzio.

Erich Dal Canton examines time and temporality with his pictures. The human experiences correlating with it become perceptible in the picture contemplation.
