Die Neue Nationalgalerie präsentiert in der oberen Halle Nan Goldin mit der Retrospektive „This Will Not End Well". Sechs Räume zeigen ihre Werke in Form von Diashows und Filmprojektionen, die mit Ton und Musik unterlegt sind. Goldins Werke erzählen Geschichten über Liebe, Intimität, Sucht und Verlust. Mit teils zärtlichen Momentaufnahmen von Intimität und Beziehungen, Alltag, wilden Partys und dem Kampf zwischen Sucht und Unabhängigkeit prägt Goldin die Wahrnehmung ihrer Zeit bis heute. Durch den Fokus auf Diashows und Videoinstallationen geht die Ausstellung zurück zu den Wurzeln von Goldins künstlerischer Praxis. Die Diashows versteht Goldin, die immer Filmemacherin sein wollte, als Filmstills. „This Will Not End Well" greift damit erstmals Goldins ursprüngliche Vision auf, wie Betrachter*innen ihre Kunst erleben sollten. Die Ausstellung tourt durch folgende Museen: Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Mailand, Grand Palais, Paris.
La Neue Nationalgalerie présente Nan Goldin dans le hall supérieur avec la rétrospective "This Will Not End Well". Six salles présentent ses œuvres sous forme de diaporamas et de projections de films, accompagnés de son et de musique. Les œuvres de Goldin racontent des histoires d'amour, d'intimité, de dépendance et de perte. Avec des instantanés parfois tendres de l'intimité et des relations, du quotidien, des fêtes endiablées et de la lutte entre addiction et indépendance, Goldin marque encore aujourd'hui la perception de son époque. En se concentrant sur les diaporamas et les installations vidéo, l'exposition revient aux racines de la pratique artistique de Goldin. Goldin, qui a toujours voulu être cinéaste, considère les diaporamas comme des extraits de films. "This Will Not End Well" reprend ainsi pour la première fois la vision initiale de Goldin sur la manière dont les spectateurs* devraient vivre son art. L'exposition est en tournée dans les musées suivants : Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Stedelijk Museum à Amsterdam, Neue Nationalgalerie à Berlin, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milan, Grand Palais, Paris.
La Neue Nationalgalerie presenta Nan Goldin con la retrospettiva "This Will Not End Well" nella sala superiore. In sei sale sono esposte le sue opere sotto forma di diapositive e proiezioni cinematografiche accompagnate da suoni e musica. Le opere di Goldin raccontano storie di amore, intimità, dipendenza e perdita. Con istantanee talvolta tenere dell'intimità e delle relazioni, della vita quotidiana, delle feste sfrenate e della lotta tra dipendenza e indipendenza, Goldin continua ancora oggi a plasmare la percezione del suo tempo. Concentrandosi su presentazioni e installazioni video, la mostra torna alle radici della pratica artistica di Goldin. Goldin, che ha sempre desiderato essere un regista, vede le diapositive come fotogrammi di film. "This Will Not End Well" riprende quindi la visione originale di Goldin su come gli spettatori dovrebbero sperimentare la sua arte per la prima volta. La mostra è in tournée nei seguenti musei: Moderna Museet di Stoccolma, Stedelijk Museum di Amsterdam, Neue Nationalgalerie di Berlino, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca di Milano, Grand Palais di Parigi.
The upper hall of the Neue Nationalgalerie will host a retrospective on the work of Nan Goldin titled This Will Not End Well. Across six rooms, Goldin’s work will be featured by way of slide shows and film projections accompanied by soundtracks and music. Goldin’s works tell stories about love, intimacy, addiction and loss. With her sometimes tender snapshots of intimacy and relationships, everyday life, wild parties and the struggle between autonomy and dependency, Goldin continues to shape our perception of our times. Through its focus on slide shows and video installations, the exhibition goes back to the roots of Goldin’s artistic practice. Goldin, who always wanted to be a filmmaker, conceives of her slide shows as film stills. This Will Not End Well thus ties in with Goldin’s original vision of how audiences should interact with her art. The exhibition will be travelling to the following museums: Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, Milan, and the Grand Palais, Paris.
