Die 29-jährige Johanna-Maria Fritz erregt derzeit Aufsehen als Krisenberichterstatterin aus der Ukraine, dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten und aus afrikanischen Staaten.
Das Stadthaus Ulm zeigt vom 13. Mai bis 13. August ihr Langzeitprojekt "Like a Bird". Es handelt von der Zirkuskultur, die Johanna-Maria Fritz in Afghanistan, Dagestan, Palästina, Indien, Indonesien, im Iran und im Senegal entdeckte — islamisch geprägte Länder, in denen die Menschen mit schwierigsten Lebensumständen konfrontiert sind. Im Verlauf mehrerer Jahre dokumentierte die Fotografin das dortige Zirkusleben mit Trainings- und Alltagssituationen. Die entstandenen Bilder erzählen von Freiräumen und Möglichkeiten des Selbstausdrucks, die der Zirkus schafft, und von einer tief verwurzelten Sehnsucht nach Frieden und Freiheit.
Johanna-Maria Fritz hat die Berliner Ostkreuzschule absolviert und wurde bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Sie arbeitet für Medien wie den Spiegel, die Zeit, National Geographic, NZZ und Le Monde. Ihre Werke waren schon in den USA, in Kanada, Australien, mehreren europäischen Ländern und in China zu sehen.
Johanna-Maria Fritz, 29 ans, fait actuellement sensation en tant que reporter de crise en Ukraine, au Proche et au Moyen-Orient et dans des pays africains.
Du 13 mai au 13 août, la maison municipale d'Ulm présente son projet à long terme "Like a Bird". Il s'agit de la culture du cirque que Johanna-Maria Fritz a découverte en Afghanistan, au Daghestan, en Palestine, en Inde, en Indonésie, en Iran et au Sénégal - des pays marqués par l'islam, où les gens sont confrontés à des conditions de vie très difficiles. Au cours de plusieurs années, la photographe a documenté la vie du cirque dans ces pays, avec des situations d'entraînement et des situations quotidiennes. Les visuels qui en résultent parlent des espaces de liberté et des possibilités d'expression personnelle que crée le cirque, ainsi que d'une aspiration profondément ancrée à la paix et à la liberté.
Johanna-Maria Fritz est diplômée de l'école Ostkreuz de Berlin et a déjà été récompensée à plusieurs reprises. Elle travaille pour des médias tels que Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, National Geographic, NZZ et Le Monde. Ses œuvres ont déjà été exposées aux États-Unis, au Canada, en Australie, dans plusieurs pays européens et en Chine.

Si tratta della cultura circense che Johanna-Maria Fritz ha scoperto in Afghanistan, Daghestan, Palestina, India, Indonesia, Iran e Senegal - Paesi islamici in cui le persone devono affrontare le condizioni di vita più difficili. Nel corso di diversi anni, la fotografa ha documentato la vita circense in quei luoghi, con allenamenti e situazioni quotidiane. Le immagini che ne sono scaturite raccontano degli spazi liberi e delle opportunità di espressione di sé che il circo crea, e di un desiderio di pace e libertà profondamente radicato.

The Stadthaus Ulm is showing her long-term project "Like a Bird" from May 13 to August 13. It is about the circus culture that Johanna-Maria Fritz discovered in Afghanistan, Dagestan, Palestine, India, Indonesia, Iran and Senegal - Islamic countries where people are confronted with the most difficult living conditions.
