Seit drei Jahren arbeitet Thomas Krempke an einem Langzeitprojekt in Albanien, das Projekt ist eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem fotografischen Sehen und mit dem Blick auf die albanischen Wirklichkeit. Die Ausstellung „heute-gestern-übermorgen" zeigt einen Ausschnitt aus diesem Langzeitprojekt. Seit dem Ende der Diktatur 1992 versucht Albanien die gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung aufzuholen, für die wir fast hundert Jahre gebraucht haben. Ein unmögliches Unterfangen in dieser kurzen Zeit. Dessen Folgen sind überall im Land sichtbar und scheinen wie ein Spiegelbild unserer eigenen Lebensweise. Es ist als ob Albanien schweben würde zwischen seiner nicht allzu fernen Vergangenheit, die unendlich weit weg zu sein scheint, und einer Zukunft, die nie anbrechen wird, und von der man den Eindruck hat, sie werde sich, bevor sie begonnen hat, wie ein Traum in nichts auflösen. Mit seinen Bildern und Texten setzt sich Thomas Krempke auch mit unserer Wahrnehmung als Reisende auseinander, mit unserem Blick auf andere.
Depuis trois ans, Thomas Krempke travaille sur un projet à long terme en Albanie. Ce projet est une réflexion sur la vision photographique et sur le regard porté sur la réalité albanaise. L'exposition "aujourd'hui-aujourd'hui-après-demain" présente un extrait de ce projet à long terme. Depuis la fin de la dictature en 1992, l'Albanie tente de rattraper le développement social et économique qui nous a pris près de cent ans. Une entreprise impossible en si peu de temps. Ses conséquences sont visibles partout dans le pays et semblent être le reflet de notre propre mode de vie. C'est comme si l'Albanie flottait entre son passé pas si lointain, qui semble infiniment éloigné, et un avenir qui ne commencera jamais, et dont on a l'impression qu'il s'évanouira avant même d'avoir commencé, comme un rêve. Avec ses images et ses textes, Thomas Krempke s'interroge également sur notre perception en tant que voyageurs, sur le regard que nous portons sur les autres.
Thomas Krempke lavora da tre anni a un progetto a lungo termine in Albania, un'esplorazione della visione fotografica e dello sguardo sulla realtà albanese. La mostra "heute-gestern-übermorgen" presenta un estratto di questo progetto a lungo termine. Dalla fine della dittatura nel 1992, l'Albania sta cercando di recuperare il ritardo nello sviluppo sociale ed economico che ha richiesto quasi cento anni. Un'impresa impossibile in questo breve lasso di tempo. Le sue conseguenze sono visibili ovunque nel Paese e sembrano un riflesso del nostro stesso modo di vivere. È come se l'Albania fosse sospesa tra il suo passato non troppo lontano, che sembra infinitamente lontano, e un futuro che non sorgerà mai, e di cui si ha l'impressione che si dissolverà nel nulla come un sogno prima ancora di cominciare. Con le sue immagini e i suoi testi, Thomas Krempke si occupa anche della nostra percezione di viaggiatori, del nostro sguardo sugli altri.
Thomas Krempke has been working on a long-term project in Albania for three years; the project is an exploration of photographic seeing and the gaze on Albanian reality. The exhibition " today-yesterday-after tomorrow" shows an excerpt from this long-term project. Since the end of the dictatorship in 1992, Albania has been trying to catch up with the social and economic development that we took almost a hundred years to achieve. An impossible undertaking in this short period of time. Its consequences are everywhere visible in the country and seem like a reflection of our own way of life. It is as if Albania is suspended between its not-so-distant past, which seems infinitely far away, and a future that will never dawn, of which one has the impression that it will dissolve into nothing like a dream before it has begun. With his pictures and texts, Thomas Krempke also deals with our perception as travelers, with our view of the other.
