Das MK&G präsentiert mit „Linda Fregni Nagler. Fotografie neu ordnen: Blickinszenierungen“ die erste Einzelausstellung der italienischen Künstlerin Linda Fregni Nagler (* 1976, Stockholm, Schweden) in Deutschland. Auf assoziative Weise verbindet sie zwei Werkgruppen mit ausgewählten Fotografien aus der Sammlung des MK&G. Die Zusammenschau verhandelt den Themenkomplex von Anschauen und Angeschaut-Werden, von Sichtbarkeit und Unsichtbarkeit – zentrale Aspekte des Mediums Fotografie. In ihrer künstlerischen Praxis reaktiviert Linda Fregni Nagler seit vielen Jahren historische Fotografien, bearbeitet und übersetzt sie und nimmt dabei gleichzeitig die Perspektive einer Sammlerin und Kuratorin ein. So transferiert sie Themen wie die Repräsentation von Frauen und – im fotografischen Blick angelegte– ungleiche Machtstrukturen in die Gegenwart. Die Ausstellung findet in der Reihe „Fotografie neu ordnen“ statt, die Künstler*innen und Wissenschaftler*innen einlädt, sich mit den historischen Beständen des MK&G auseinanderzusetzen. Linda Fregni Nagler ist die fünfte Künstlerin in dieser Reihe.
Le MK&G présente avec "Linda Fregni Nagler. Réorganiser la photographie : Mises en scène du regard", la première exposition individuelle de l'artiste italienne Linda Fregni Nagler (* 1976, Stockholm, Suède) en Allemagne. De manière associative, elle relie deux groupes d'œuvres à des photographies sélectionnées dans la collection du MK&G. L'ensemble traite de la thématique du regard et de l'être regardé, de la visibilité et de l'invisibilité - des aspects centraux du médium photographique. Dans sa pratique artistique, Linda Fregni Nagler réactive depuis de nombreuses années des photographies historiques, les retravaille et les traduit, tout en adoptant la perspective d'une collectionneuse et d'une conservatrice. Elle transpose ainsi dans le présent des thèmes tels que la représentation des femmes et les structures de pouvoir inégalitaires - inscrites dans le regard photographique. L'exposition s'inscrit dans le cadre de la série "Réorganiser la photographie", qui invite les artistes et les scientifiques à se pencher sur les collections historiques du MK&G. Linda Fregni Nagler est la cinquième artiste de cette série.
MK&G presenta "Linda Fregni Nagler. Rearranging Photography: Stagings of the Gaze", la prima mostra personale dell'artista italiana Linda Fregni Nagler (* 1976, Stoccolma, Svezia) in Germania. In modo associativo, l'artista combina due gruppi di opere con fotografie selezionate dalla collezione MK&G. La sinossi affronta il complesso dei temi del guardare e dell'essere guardati, della visibilità e dell'invisibilità - aspetti centrali del mezzo fotografico. Nella sua pratica artistica, Linda Fregni Nagler ha riattivato per molti anni fotografie storiche, modificandole e traducendole e adottando allo stesso tempo la prospettiva di una collezionista e curatrice. In questo modo, trasferisce nel presente temi come la rappresentazione della donna e le strutture di potere diseguali, insite nello sguardo fotografico. La mostra fa parte della serie "Reordering Photography", che invita artisti e studiosi a confrontarsi con il patrimonio storico del MK&G. Linda Fregni Nagler è la quinta artista di questa serie.
The MK&G presents "Linda Fregni Nagler. Rearranging Photography: Stagings of the Gaze", the first solo exhibition of the Italian artist Linda Fregni Nagler (* 1976, Stockholm, Sweden) in Germany. In an associative way, she combines two groups of works with selected photographs from the MK&G collection. The synopsis negotiates the thematic complex of looking at and being looked at, of visibility and invisibility - central aspects of the medium of photography. In her artistic practice, Linda Fregni Nagler has been reactivating historical photographs for many years, editing and translating them, while at the same time adopting the perspective of a collector and curator. In this way, she transfers themes such as the representation of women and - inherent in the photographic gaze - unequal power structures into the present. The exhibition is part of the series "Reordering Photography," which invites artists and scholars to engage with the MK&G's historical holdings. Linda Fregni Nagler is the fifth artist in this series.
