Coming to light – Historische und innovative Printtechniken

Alle 16 Künstler:innen haben ein vertieftes Wissen über Drucktechniken und fotografische Verfahren, die bis ins frühe 19. Jahrhundert zurückreichen. Ihr handwerkliches Geschick, die besondere Sorgfalt bei der Auswahl des Papiers und die hohe Qualität der Prints gehen über den technischen Aspekt hinaus: sie verleihen den Werken eine haptische und sinnliche Qualität. Der fotografische Abzug ist nicht mehr nur ein Abbild eines eingefangenen Ausschnitts der uns umgebenden Welt, er verändert, verfeinert oder veredelt das Gewöhnliche und wird Teil des künstlerischen Wertes.
Das Spektrum umfasst frühe Techniken aus dem 19. Jahrhundert: Cyanotypien der japanischen Künstlerin Mika Horie, Chine-collé-Drucke auf zwei verschiedenen Papieren von Paul Cupido und Miriam Tölke, Photogramme von Gregor Törzs und Rachel Thomson, Photopolymer-Radierungen von Chantal Elisabeth Ariëns oder atemberaubende Platinum-Palladium-Prints von Jeffrey Conley und Flor Garduño. Die Ausstellung zeigt aber auch neue, innovative Drucktechniken, die historisches Wissen mit einem spielerisch-experimentellen Ansatz verbinden: darunter Lithografien historischer Bilder auf gebrauchtem Gletschertuch von Douglas Mandry, Pigmentdrucke auf Gampi-Papier über Blattgold von Albarrán Cabrera oder die Monotypien von Joost Vanderbrug, die durch Transfer von Fotoemulsion auf Papier entstehen.
Die Gruppenausstellung in der Bildhalle wird begleitet durch eine Einzelpräsentation von Margaret Lansink im Showroom. Die holländische Künstlerin ist Gewinnerin des bedeutenden «Hariban Award», der besondere Leistungen und Fähigkeiten in der Kunst des Printens auszeichnet.
Les 16 artistes ont une connaissance approfondie des techniques d'impression et des procédés photographiques qui remontent au début du 19e siècle. Leur habileté artisanale, le soin particulier apporté au choix du papier et la grande qualité des tirages vont au-delà de l'aspect technique : ils confèrent aux œuvres une qualité tactile et sensuelle. Le tirage photographique n'est plus seulement l'image d'un fragment capturé du monde qui nous entoure, il modifie, affine ou ennoblit l'ordinaire et devient partie intégrante de la valeur artistique.
L'éventail comprend les premières techniques du 19e siècle : Cyanotypes de l'artiste japonaise Mika Horie, impressions Chine-collé sur deux papiers différents de Paul Cupido et Miriam Tölke, photogrammes de Gregor Törzs et Rachel Thomson, gravures photopolymères de Chantal Elisabeth Ariëns ou impressions platine-palladium époustouflantes de Jeffrey Conley et Flor Garduño. Mais l'exposition présente également de nouvelles techniques d'impression innovantes qui allient le savoir historique à une approche ludique et expérimentale : parmi elles, les lithographies d'images historiques sur toile de glacier usagée de Douglas Mandry, les impressions pigmentaires sur papier Gampi sur feuille d'or d'Albarrán Cabrera ou les monotypes de Joost Vanderbrug, obtenus par transfert d'émulsion photographique sur papier.
L'exposition de groupe dans la Bildhalle est accompagnée d'une présentation individuelle de Margaret Lansink dans le showroom. L'artiste hollandaise est lauréate du prestigieux "Hariban Award", qui récompense des réalisations et des compétences particulières dans l'art de l'impression.
Tutti i 16 artisti hanno una conoscenza approfondita delle tecniche di stampa e dei processi fotografici che risalgono all'inizio del XIX secolo. La loro abilità artigianale, la particolare cura nella scelta della carta e l'alta qualità delle stampe vanno oltre l'aspetto tecnico: conferiscono alle opere una qualità aptica e sensuale. La stampa fotografica non è più solo un'immagine di una sezione catturata del mondo che ci circonda; cambia, perfeziona o nobilita l'ordinario e diventa parte del valore artistico.
Lo spettro comprende le prime tecniche del XIX secolo: I cianotipi dell'artista giapponese Mika Horie, le stampe Chine-collé su due carte diverse di Paul Cupido e Miriam Tölke, i fotogrammi di Gregor Törzs e Rachel Thomson, le incisioni ai fotopolimeri di Chantal Elisabeth Ariëns o le straordinarie stampe al platino-palladio di Jeffrey Conley e Flor Garduño. Ma la mostra presenta anche tecniche di stampa nuove e innovative che combinano la conoscenza storica con un approccio ludico e sperimentale: tra queste le litografie di Douglas Mandry con immagini storiche su tela di ghiacciaio usata, le stampe a pigmenti su carta gampi con foglia d'oro di Albarrán Cabrera o i monotipi di Joost Vanderbrug, creati trasferendo l'emulsione fotografica sulla carta.
La mostra collettiva nella Bildhalle è accompagnata da una presentazione personale di Margaret Lansink nello showroom. L'artista olandese è la vincitrice dell'importante "Hariban Award", che premia i risultati e le abilità speciali nell'arte della stampa.
All 16 exhibited artists have an in-depth knowledge of printing techniques and photographic processes dating back to the early 19th century. Their craftsmanship, the special care they take in selecting the paper, and the high quality of the prints go beyond the technical aspect: they give the works a haptic and sensual quality. The photographic print is no longer just an image of a captured section of the world around us; it changes and refines the ordinary and becomes part of the artistic value.

The exhibition also features new, innovative printing techniques that combine historical knowledge with a playful, experimental approach, including lithographs of historical images on used glacier protection textile by Douglas Mandry, pigment prints on gampi paper over gold leaf by Albarrán Cabrera, and Joost Vanderbrug’s monotypes created by transferring photo emulsion to paper.
The group exhibition at Bildhalle is accompanied by a solo presentation of Margaret Lansink in the showroom. The Dutch artist is the winner of the prestigious “Hariban Award”, which honors special achievements and skills in the art of printing.
