MUUS Collection freut sich, eine Doppelausstellung mit Werken von André de Dienes und Alfred Wertheimer in Zusammenarbeit mit FotoNostrum in Barcelona, Spanien, ankündigen zu können. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis erforscht den Aufstieg von Marilyn Monroe und Elvis Presley, wie er von André de Dienes bzw. Alfred Wertheimer dokumentiert wurde, den beiden Fotografen, die die beiden Stars kennenlernten, als sie an der Schwelle zum Ruhm standen. Obwohl sich Elvis und Marilyn angeblich nur ein einziges Mal trafen, wurden sie zu den größten Sexsymbolen des 20. Jahrhunderts, mit einem so ungebrochenen öffentlichen Interesse, dass beide kürzlich Gegenstand großer biografischer Filme waren. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis zeigt den kulturellen Einfluss der beiden Stars anhand von Fotografien, die Marilyns Leben im Rampenlicht von ihren ersten Model-Shootings an dokumentieren, und Fotos von Elvis im zarten Alter von 21 Jahren, als er sich auf die Show vorbereitet, die seine Karriere für immer verändern sollte. Die Ausstellung umfasst fast einhundert Fotografien der beiden Künstler.
Das MUUS setzt seine Mission fort, diese außergewöhnlichen Archive einem neuen Publikum auf der ganzen Welt zugänglich zu machen. Wir freuen uns, bei dieser Ausstellung mit FotoNostrum zusammenzuarbeiten, einer Organisation, die sich der Förderung des kulturellen Bewusstseins für Fotografie durch Ausstellungen und Publikationen verschrieben hat. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis wird kuratiert von Leonor Fernandes, Exhibition Manager bei FotoNostrum, mit der kuratorischen Unterstützung von Lucrezia di Martino, Director of Partnerships bei MUUS Collection.
La Collection MUUS est fière d'annoncer une double exposition d'œuvres d'André de Dienes et d'Alfred Wertheimer en collaboration avec FotoNostrum à Barcelone, Espagne. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis explore l'ascension de Marilyn Monroe et d'Elvis Presley vers la célébrité, telle qu'elle a été documentée par André de Dienes et Alfred Wertheimer respectivement, les deux photographes qui se sont intimement familiarisés avec les stars lorsqu'elles étaient au seuil de la célébrité. Bien qu'Elvis et Marilyn ne se soient, selon la rumeur, rencontrés qu'une seule fois, ils sont devenus les plus grands sex-symbols du XXe siècle, suscitant un tel intérêt de la part du public qu'ils ont tous deux fait récemment l'objet de films biographiques importants. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis démontre l'impact culturel des deux stars à travers des photographies documentant la vie de Marilyn sous les feux de la rampe depuis ses premières séances de mannequinat et des photos d'Elvis à l'âge tendre de 21 ans, se préparant pour le spectacle qui allait changer sa carrière à jamais. L'exposition comprend près d'une centaine de photographies des deux artistes.

Anche se si dice che Elvis e Marilyn si siano incontrati una sola volta, sono diventati i più grandi sex symbol del XX secolo, con un interesse pubblico così forte che entrambi sono stati recentemente oggetto di importanti film biografici. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis mostra l'impatto culturale delle due star attraverso fotografie che documentano la vita di Marilyn sotto i riflettori, dai primi servizi come modella in poi, e le foto di Elvis alla tenera età di 21 anni, mentre si prepara per lo spettacolo che avrebbe cambiato per sempre la sua carriera. MUUS Collection is proud to announce a double exhibition of works by André de Dienes and Alfred Wertheimer in collaboration with FotoNostrum in Barcelona, Spain. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis explores the rise to stardom of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, as documented by André de Dienes and Alfred Wertheimer respectively, the two photographers who became intimately acquainted with the stars when they were on the cusp of fame. Though Elvis and Marilyn were rumored to have met only once, they became the biggest sex symbols of the 20th century, with a public interest so unrelenting that both were recently the subjects of major biographical films. Becoming Marilyn & Becoming Elvis demonstrates the cultural impact of the two stars through photographs documenting Marilyn’s life in the spotlight from her earliest modeling shoots onward and photos of Elvis at the tender age of 21, preparing for the show that would change his career forever. The exhibition comprises nearly one hundred photographs by the two artists.
