Nolles künstlerische Arbeitsweise ist multidisziplinär. Die Künstlerin bewegt sich zwischen Forschung, Beobachtung, konzeptioneller Fotografie und dem Arbeiten mit Objekten und Installationen. Seit 2016 beschäftigte sich die jetzt in Berlin lebende Jana Sophia Nolle mit der immer größer werdenden Schere zwischen Arm und Reich. In der Folge entstand eine konzeptuelle fotografische Studie temporärer Obdachlosenbehausungen, die Nolle 2017/2018 in San Francisco begann. Die Künstlerin thematisiert am Beispiel des Wohnens sozialpolitische Veränderungen und Aspekte der Gentrifizierung. Nolle sprach auf der Straße Obdachlose an, portraitierte sie, und bat sie, ihre Wohnstätte im Bild festhalten zu dürfen. In einem performativen Akt baute Nolle die Obdachlosenbehausungen in den Wohnungen wohlhabender Menschen auf und fotografierte sie dort. 2019 erhielt Nolle das Fotoarbeitsstipendium des Haus am Kleistpark und konnte das Projekt in Berlin fortsetzen.
L'approche artistique de Nolle est multidisciplinaire. L'artiste évolue entre la recherche, l'observation, la photographie conceptuelle et le travail avec des objets et des installations. Depuis 2016, Jana Sophia Nolle, qui vit désormais à Berlin, se préoccupe de l'écart toujours plus grand entre les riches et les pauvres. Elle a ainsi créé une étude photographique conceptuelle des logements temporaires pour sans-abri, que Nolle a commencée à San Francisco en 2017/2018. L'artiste utilise le logement comme exemple pour aborder les changements sociopolitiques et les aspects de la gentrification. Nolle a abordé des sans-abri dans la rue, a pris des portraits d'eux et leur a demandé de l'autoriser à capturer leur habitation dans une photo. Dans un acte performatif, Nolle a installé les logements des sans-abri dans les appartements de personnes aisées et les a photographiés sur place. En 2019, Nolle a reçu la bourse de travail photographique de la Haus am Kleistpark et a pu poursuivre le projet à Berlin.
L'approccio artistico di Nolle è multidisciplinare. L'artista si muove tra ricerca, osservazione, fotografia concettuale e lavoro con oggetti e installazioni. Dal 2016, Jana Sophia Nolle, che ora vive a Berlino, si occupa del divario sempre più ampio tra ricchi e poveri. Di conseguenza, ha creato uno studio fotografico concettuale sulle abitazioni temporanee dei senzatetto, che Nolle ha iniziato a San Francisco nel 2017/2018. L'artista usa gli alloggi come esempio per affrontare i cambiamenti socio-politici e gli aspetti della gentrificazione. Nolle ha avvicinato i senzatetto per strada, li ha ritratti e ha chiesto loro di permetterle di catturare la loro dimora in una foto. In un atto performativo, Nolle ha allestito le abitazioni dei senzatetto negli appartamenti dei ricchi e li ha fotografati lì. Nolle’s artistic method is multi-disciplinary. The artist shifts between research, observation, conceptual photography, and work with objects and installations. Now living primarily in Berlin, since 2016 she has been concentrating on the ever-growing rift between rich and poor. This concern is behind her conceptual photographic study of temporary homeless shelters which she began in San Francisco between 2017/2018. Through the example of living-spaces the artist thematises socio-political change and aspects related to gentrification. Nolle approached people living on the street, took portraits of them, and asked for permission to photograph their dwellings. Then, in a performative act, Nolle recreated and shot their shelters within the flats and houses of the wealthy. In 2019 Nolle received the Haus am Kleistpark Photography Fellowship and was able to continue the project in Berlin.
